While the tradelist is interesting to look at, it isn’t really apples to apples when you are looking at different leagues with different owners. A players value is only as much as someone is willing to give for them (or pay for them at auction). Every team in every league values players differently, has different team needs, and a different strategy. One league could have a trade of Eloy for DeGrom, but that trade doesn’t mean anything about player values in our league.

While I'm in favor of playoffs myself to keep things interesting throughout the season, from my perspective it seems like there isn't enough consensus to justify making any type of change. We had at least 3 teams, prior to our newest owner, who had given "as-is" their 1st place vote. I think that implies that it's unlikely we'd have a 2/3rds majority who are for any specific change.

Haha. I thought trying a ranked choice vote would be interesting and so I did a quick Google search to find a place that offered it and landed on the one I sent. I figured there is no private information, so I didn't worry too much about the choice... and now I've learned my lesson on using rando sites. I'm getting a message that they have used up their monthly free internet bandwidth, so it's no longer available. FWIW, the winner after 7 votes was to leave things as they are.

Being new to the league I feel like my vote doesn't matter. It's whatever you guys want. I joined so I can get more experience in different formats. I'd like it to be a no ey league just so it doesn't feel like I'm throwing away 20 dollars every year. I'd rather throw away 50 where there's a chance I can come out with something in the end. But again being new I feel like my votes should not hold much weight. It's your league.

I think my main concern is that if we switch to a money league (which I'm not in favor of) I don't want people losing prize money because of the bad luck involved in playoff/H2H scenarios. I think playoffs would be fun but I don't have a strong preference.

I've completed the poll. I'm against H2H more than the playoff idea. The last thing I want is to be part of a competitive race and at the end of the season I'm facing active owners while my competition is facing inactive owners. The old baseball saying "It's not who you play, it's when you play them" could bite someone at the end. I also reconsidered and voted against the playoffs. I hadn't thought about teams being in the playoffs while their best players are being shut down at end of

If you want to do play off it should be h2h league from the get go.

Hello, I'm new but I'd vote against a play-off in a straight points format. Leagues do suffer when one team dominates... but it also sucks for good teams when their play off pitchers get shut down and they lose while having the clearly better team. dont ruin 5 months of fun by introducing a RNG at the end of the season.

Regarding the change (if it sticks) it doesn't require h2h for the season, and there are some options on how many teams make the playoffs. The way I have it set now would be 6, with the bottom 2 "wildcard" teams facing the 3 & 4 seeds, and 1 & 2 getting bys. The playoffs themselves are h2h though.

I hear your concern Cubby, and I don't disagree about looking for a 2/3rds majority to make the switch. If others are against playoffs I'd encourage them to speak up. Personally, though, I'm not dissuaded. Even when I was on top in 2017, the end of the season got kind of boring. I'm opening my wallet for what will now by $20 for entertainment more than for a sure fire chance to win if I score the most points. I vote for "fun" over "fair".
