Thank you guys for the suggestions, went to Cork& Kerry and the Turtle after the white sox game, and bounced around Wrigleyville before and after the Cubs game...very fun city but gotta say better atmosphere at Wrigley by far
-
Will Likely be dropping Willson Contreras after tonights game to free up some cap space. If you would rather avoid the cost at auction hit me up with an offer. not going to ask for much as i'm looking to free up a couple dollars.

I was in need of some RP/OF depth Tempest lol

Tony’s a Yankees fan and therefore thinks he’s too good for the South side. Not as many options as Wrigleyville, but there’s a couple bars (Cork & Kerry as well as Turtle’s) on 33rd a couple blocks north of the stadium. There’s also the ChiSox Bar & Grill attached to the stadium at Gate 5 which is the first gate you get to coming off the Red Line

Deuces and Old Crow which are right next to Wrigley are both really fun on game days! You do not want to go to any bars down near the Sox stadium. Let me know if you need more recommendations

I know a few of you guys are in Chicago, I'm going to both stadiums later this week, any bars a absolutely must hit?

Lmao you okay Frederick?

I don't think the list is in one place anymore because we just changed the arbitration system for next offseason -- kind of confusing. They still have an "RFA" designation on their player pages, though.
-
I believe this is the list (salaries at the time of vote-off):
Austin Riley $26
Luis Castillo $13
Aaron Judge $33
Pete Alonso $22
Paul Goldschmidt $16
Freddie Freeman $33
Jake Cronenworth $17
Justin Verlander $11
Nolan Arenado $24
Julio Rodriguez $17
Xander Bogaerts $27
Sandy Alcantara $25
-
How do tell which players are RFA's? besides mine.

HB renewed but missed the dates to adjust their roster. They inquired about abandoning, but I wanted to confirm that they really wanted to do that as I'm not 100% sure they'll be refunded if they abandon now. I'd be up for letting them make penalty-free cuts now if they want to stay in, otherwise if they're fine being out the $50 potentially, I'll just mark them as abandoned.

-The vote-off system gives each team in the league the ability to vote on a player on each other team.
-The player that receives the most votes on each team is turned into a restricted free agent that can be bid on by other teams during the auction draft.
-The team they were voted off from will get an automatic $5 discount towards that player, so if they get the player back, they will get the player for $5 under what they bid

I believe Alcantara was voted off during our old off-season arbitration, so if you re-draft him, you’ll get a discount on him

I changed the arbitration settings, but have kept the pitching the same...for everyone's reference, I believe the options for pitching limits are games started and range between 7 and 10 GS per week

I agree with these changes. Let's do the pitching change this year
-
A weekly games started cap makes more sense to me than a weekly innings pitched cap (not sure how feasible that would be? is it an option in H2H leagues?). I'd be in favor of it if we could somehow decide by the keep/cut deadline tomorrow. Definitely a few pitchers on my roster for whom this would matter for a keep/cut decision, making quality of innings more important relative to quantity of innings. If we can't get consensus by tomorrow's deadline I'd vote to wait until next season to change.
-
I’ve certainly taken advantage of pitching quantity over quality. Would definitely be up for capping IP or potentially Games Started

And that pitching change I would propose for this season rather than wait for next offseason.

I'm in favor of changing arb system methods, too. I'll also throw out (pun intended) moving from starting pitcher slots to a max innings pitched limit per week. Annoying when you have a lumpy starter schedule or win by quantity over quality (to a degree).

(As a refresher -- in November we collectively voted off one player on each team's roster, to be re-auctioned in March; under the allocation system, we would each distribute $25 across the league's rosters, adding $1-$3 to players on every team.)
-
How would everyone feel about switching our arbitration system next offseason from the vote-off method we used this year to allocations? Seems like allocation is more popular across ottoneu and helps improve competitive balance, providing a price correction to a much larger pool of players than vote-offs. Also sounds more interesting and fun, to be honest.
-
I believe the team remains intact and can be taken over by a new owner, but I’m not 100% certain on that

If some people dont renew does another person take over the team as is or are all the players on that team cut and added to the auction pool?

Also be sure to renew your team by 1/31 as well if you plan on joining us for year 2. If not, thanks for being part of our inaugural season!

A friendly reminder that you have until January 31 to cut / trade players in order to get under roster and salary cap limits. If you wait to cut players until after January 31, I believe you only receive half of their salary back in cap space.
Danville Dans on

Correct. I believe everyone has until January 31 to cut players/make trades in order to get under roster and salary cap limits. Once that is all done, nothing happens until the 2023 auction draft. Once the draft is completed, then free agency begins again as it did during the past regular season.

Ah, I see. So just to confirm, all of the released + voted off players just enter the 2023 auction and aren't able to be signed like how players were signed during the regular season?
-
d. The team they were voted off from will get an automatic $5 discount towards that player, so if they get the player back, they will get the player for $5 under what they bid.
e. Players who have been voted into restricted free agency cannot be traded.
f. Players who have been voted into restricted free agency will not appear as free agents on the site.

Vote Off
a. The vote-off system gives each team in the league the ability to vote on a player on each other team.
b. The player that receives the most votes collectively on each team is turned into a restricted free agent that can be bid on by other teams during the auction draft.
c. In the case of a tie, the standings of all the relevant voting teams is examined. Whichever player has the team with the worst standings voting for them is the restricted free agent.

Important detail is that you get a $5 discount on your guy who got removed from your team, so if you win the auction at $26, they go on your roster at $21...here's the official language

*Last day of arbitration, eight teams still have to vote*
-
Yeah, looks like just arbitration votes needs to be in by end of day Monday. And then after that keep/cut decisions can be made until January 31st.
-
Looks like you *cannot* cut players yet, but you can click the "Arb Voting" menu to vote one player off each team.

Happy offseason to everyone except the Astros and A-rod. I see a note that "Arbitration Ends: Monday, November 14, 2022". I think that's the deadline for cutting players off your roster (for full cap savings) and voting one player off each team (player on each team with most votes becomes a free agent). Make sure to hit the deadline, and please correct me if I'm off with any details here. Good luck!
