No commish action is needed .....
-
But if you're lukewarm, I won't exert the effort myself.
-
If you want to post a poll for reversal, do so, but it'll work slowly through the message board.
-
DSOTPS -- I've proposed reversing that part of the trade to murphy. if he doesn't accept than that's life ...
-
and players back in order. But please be more careful. Ottoneu doesn't give commissioners a magic wand to undo trades.
-
Your comment on the trade page seems to indicate an unwillingness to deal berkman and rasmus, so I clicked on veto. If folks don't veto the trade (weekends are tough) we can put it up to majority rules vote and I'll see what I can do to put the finances
-
please VETO the trade from Oil Cats to Maruders ...
-
I did NOT accept the trade to the Maruders .... I rejected that trade.
-
Marietta Oil Cats's trading block has been updated!
-
Hey guys, welcome to the league. You're definitely taking one for the team this season.
-
Hey all sorry I forgot to intro myself when I changed the team name yesterday but here I am.
-
Now, I wil need to start drafting players out of high school.

Yeah, I won't bid crazy on players. I don't want to out price them for next season. Basically, I'll be bidding what I think they'll be worth in 2012. I'd rather loan my $$ for prospects which have reasonable contracts.

I just cut Pedro Alvarez as well, but he'll have a high minimum if you toss him out.
-
Welcome to the new teams ... I guess this means I won't get Jordan Lyles for $1 now that the big spenders are here.
-
I would be willing to buy prospects for any owner that wants cash. $400 will do me little good this year.

Hey everyone, just took over the Kansas City Monarchs. Prepare to be dominated ... in 2013

Not sure if Murphy's Maradurs is a new owner or just the old one waking up, but either way, it's good to see some action there.
-
NTL -- Better late than never. What is the other alternative? To have two dead teams permanently in the league?
-
Smitty -- Unless their teams put them on the 60 day DL, you can either cut them or keep them as reserves ....
-
Having a new team join now, does not guarantee that they will spend any money now. The wisest thing to do would be to just buy some $1.00 players now., and wait until next year.

RE: New teams .. that's why I'd like to have them get in now ... at least they'll spend something soon.
-
DSotPS -- Not a problem ... Just thought I'd toss it out there ... I do lots of 5x5 and like to leverage my plans so that's why I asked. I'll probably still just use those bids here and tweak the closers downward a bit.
-
I can't find what to do with my two players who are out for the yaer - anybody know?

... points, I like 'em, but I opted for simplicity as Ottoneu is complicated enough as is and I've never enjoyed roto leagues with more than 5x5 or 6x6. Just my preference.
-
Also, the reason I started an Ottoneu league is that I hate 5x5 roto stats. RBI, SB, W, SV.... There are Ottoneu leagues that offer that, but not this one. I started it and thats the one thing that's not up for debate. And as for fangraphs
-
The dead team question is a timely one. The Ottoneu admins just contacted me about potential replacements. I'll keep everyone informed as I learn more and if a decision needs to be made we'll put it to a majority-rules vote.
-
What needs to avoid happening, is the 2 empty teams be filled next year. The team managers have a $400.00 FAAB and can bid against anybody. I have it seen it happen in another league. Forget about acquiring new players.

never mind .. I found it
-
How do I cut players again?
-
if you want to "change this league", and if it is possible, you should change it to "fangraph points"

Assuming I stay in for next year, the guy I want to get back into the pool is Bryce Harper :-)
-
so has anyone started looking at other teams to decide who we should cut for next auction (evil laugh)
-
Also, can the commishes check with ottoneu about replacing the two dead teams?
-
Sorry I've been away guys ... sort of hard for me to stay connected here since it's not roto stats ... any chance we can change this league to 5x5 next year?
-
What do you mean by points and values? If by points you mean standings, then yes. If by values you mean salaries, then no, at least not for the players you choose to keep.
-
aat t6he end of the year, does every thing( points and values) get set to zero.

I hope that Ottoneu fills the 2 "dead teams", which he talks about on Twitter. Then maybe, I won't be in last place.

never too late - Do you understand the FA auction process? It seems to me that you have no idea how it works. Do you realize that all bids are blind? People are not waiting until the auction is ready to end and then bid more than $1.
-
In all seriousness, edify me: what is your understanding of the free agent auction process? I'm not trying to sound condescending, but I think you're confused as to how this works.
-
I suppose at the end of the year, when players get cut, I will have to ask my mother if I can stay up late. to place" last minute" bids
Sgt. Pepper on
April 27, 2011 12:38 PM
-
Firstly, it is the last bid that counts, so if I am conscious for the samew amount of time, you have the last bid. Secondly, if you are putting in bids at 3:00 E.T., on purpose, I do not find that "overly competitive", just "dirty".
Sgt. Pepper on

It's also hilariously ironic that certain times are "too late" for "Never too Late."
-
2nd new rule, everyone must submit their roster moves so that NTL may be the arbiterer of the over-competitiveness of said moves. If deemed overly-competitive the player(s) shall be rewarded to NTL for $1.
-
Ugh. Your complaints make no sense. All auctions take 48hrs, whether they start at 3:30am or pm, you'll presumably be conscious for roughly the same amount of time for the duration of any auction. Also, not everyone lives in your time zone.
-
either you must be a night watchman, or have severe insomnia-starting auctions at 3:30 a.m.? This is not a "prize league".
Sgt. Pepper on
April 26, 2011 12:02 AM
-
I'm pretty sure that's not how the auctions work. Anyway, the new rule is that no one can tinker with their roster when NTL is sleeping.
