• This is a sad day for MLB, but there’s an alternative. Several years ago, I fell in love with college baseball. Since then, I’ve been a subscriber to D1baseball.com. It is the best site out there for college baseball. They also have a really good podcast. Baseball America is good (I subscribe there as well), but D1 baseball is my go to. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

• We are full and everyone has signed up on Couch Managers. Like me, I know several of you are eager to get the draft started. I'm fine with that, but would like to get an idea of what you think. Should we wait to get an update regarding the lockout or just push the draft start button? I read yesterday that if there's not an agreement by Monday, the start of the regular season may be delayed. • The auction will actually be a slow draft. Each owner will need to make two nominations at one time to start. Once an owner starts an auction, the auction is set for 12 hours; however, once it gets to under 8 hours, then the auction goes for 8 and not 12. I'm in a league that uses Couch Managers and it works well. To keep the auction moving, it's important for owners to keep nominations going. Once a player has been won, the person putting the player up, nominates another. Clear as mud; right?
