• @Posey, you my friend are correct. If Severino is in the lineup to start and you slot him in as a SP, you will get whatever points he earns. But, if you have him slotted as a RP on your lineup and he is going to start and you don’t move him to a SP slot on your lineup, you will not accrue his points.

• @Poselicious - That is how I have always understood it. There are some pitchers that Otto will list SP/RP next to their name indicating their position. You may see this happen with Severino.
  
  As a suggestion, another great way to get timely answers and from many Otto gurus, is to in addition of posting questions here, is to post them on the Otto Slack channel. Hope that helps.

• I would like to comment on the pitching issue. Granted, I am a fan pts veteran since 2012. So I don’t know if this applies t a 5 x 5 roto league, but! If a pitcher is slated to start, his name will appear in bold letters on your roster, in clouding relief pitchers. If a reliever is to be a starter his name will also be in bold font. So, put your reliever, if you so choose, (because it may be for 1 batter up to 2 innings) into an SP slot in your lineup…

• Are you sure about that CB? The rules state that an pitcher who starts the game, but is slotted in an RP slot, will not accumulate stats. Rule f.v.B states "RP spots must be taken by pitchers who are in the bullpen in MLB games. If a player in a team's lineup RP slot does start on the day they are in the RP slot, they will not accrue statistics."

• You can just play him in an RP spot and you will still accumulate stats. It just adds some positional flexibility for your roster. So it works out in your favor.

• Thought I'd post here in case the question and subsequent answer are helpful for anyone else. So - Severino is currently only RP eligible, but he will presumably start games. Pitcher stats don't accumulate if you put an RP in a SP slot or a SP in an RP slot. So does this mean that I can't use Severino until his 6th start (when he will gain SP eligibility)?

It is very important that you review and compare your rosters on CMs to Otto. Hold off on any trades and starting auctions for free agents until all rosters are reviewed. • You all have spoken and each of you have made valid points. Based on your input, I suggest we start the draft Thursday at 9am (PST). The key for all of you is to make sure you have two nominations for players. When you start an auction for a player, once an owner wins the the auction, the owner who nominated that player will then need to nominate another player. You will see "Noms Left" under the right column on Couch Managers. Various settings can be adjusted during the draft...

• The sooner we draft there are options available to ALL teams. You can trade for players, you can cut players (with penalty) and you can start auctions. The longer we wait the clock runs faster toward the beginning of the season. Right now, we are sitting on our hands.

• Sorry for the tardy response. The link also did not work for me. I'm mostly good either way. The only thing I feel strongly about is not waiting once they agree. IF we are going to wait for them to agree, we should be ready to start almost immediately after they agree. The timelines will likely be very compressed and we will need to move quickly once an agreement gets signed as I expect we will have 4 weeks at the most.
