The Duffers are working to a 2 year plan ....

Bruce: better to hit your caps than to leave games unplayed. You had a good year for a rookie who inherited a poor team. Watch out for the Duffers next year!

I am done with pitching, 1B and after today 3B. All hitting their caps.

6d left. Brandon has extended his lead over Bruce to 49/d (almost clinched). Luke has extended his lead over Joe to 49/d (almost clinched the last OPL spot) and has eliminated Stephan. Joe leads Stephan by 3/d. Paul leads JD by 41/d.

7d left. Brandon leads Bruce by 34/d. Luke leads Joe by 44/d and Stephan by 45/d (Joe and Stephan are very close). Paul leads JD by 44/d. It is unlikely there will be any change except for Joe vs Stephan, but Luke is now out of pitching which opens the door a bit. Larry is now on the hunt to set the single season scoring record set by Stephen in 2021 of 19602.

8d left (sorry that I missed updating yesterday). Brandon leads Bruce by 30/d. Luke leads Joe by 38/d and Stephan by 46/d. Paul leads JD by 39/d. All others spots are clinched, and these spots will be very hard to change as time is running out.

LARRY HAS CLINCHED!!!!
In a dominating performance, Larry has been the daily leader every day since 4/12. There was a moment on 8/5 where Bruce had an intraday lead over Larry, but Larry had passed him back by the end of the day. Congratulations to Larry!

It was a light day yesterday, which worked to the advantage of the leaders and against the chasers. With 10/d left, LARRY HAS CLINCHED (more to follow) and Tyler is eliminated. Brandon extended his lead over Bruce for 4th from 6/d to 10/d, Luke extended his lead over Joe from 13/d to 23/d and Stephan from 29/d to 31/d. Paul also extended his lead over JD from 29/d to 30/d.

With 2 weeks to go, you must be within 700 points to be behind 50/d or less. Tyler is 36/d behind Larry. Brandon is 12/d behind Bruce. Joe is 16/d behind Luke. Stephan is 30/d behind Luke, and 14/d behind Joe. JD is 29/d behind Paul. Anna is 39/d behind JD. It looks like everything is settled except for the battle for 6th. I will try to update these daily from here on out until margins exceed 50/d. Good luck!

with 21d left, 1050 points is required to be within 50/d. Larry is close to clinching (I am behind 40/d). Stephen trails me by 34/d. Brandon trials Bruce by 21/d. Luke trials Brandon by 48/d. Luke leads the battle for 6th up 9/d over Joe and 17/d over Stephen. Other than the battle for 6th, everything may be settled by the end of this week.

at the top (teams might move up or down 1). There are two exceptions: Bruce is out of pitching so he might drop farther than just Brandon, and the Luke/Joe/Stephen/Paul battle. Luke has been looking very good lately so the others need to start moving if they are to catch him.

I had a meeting end early so....with 24d left in the season, things are starting to settle in. Larry is in a very strong position to win as I am the only team within 50/d (and at 32/d have a VERY long way to go). Stephen is within 50/d of me (30). Brandon is 38/d behind Stephen and 24/d behind Bruce. Luke is 40/d behind Brandon. Luke is 6/d ahead of Joe, 19/d ahead of Stephen and 49/d ahead of Paul in the battle for OPL eligibility. In summary, there is still a chance for small movement (cont)

We have 31 days left in the season, and there are two important races going on: the race for first and the race for 6th (the final OPL qualifying spot). Larry is in the lead for first, as he has been all year. Tyler trails by 17/d, Bruce 45/d and Stephen 46/d. No one else is within 50/d. Luke holds the 6th spot with Joe down 7/d, Stephan 15/d, Paul 38/d and JD 44/d. I will track these as we finish out the season. If you are out more than 50/d I am going to drop you from the contender list.

Some interesting value on the table.
-
Lots of trading in the final day!
-
Paul is 200+
-
Luke is +200 again!
-
There are 5 weeks left in the season, a max of 35 games.
-
Thanks. I think I won enough to at least pay for all 5 of my Ottoneu teams 🤓
-
Reminder that our leagues trade deadline is this week on the 31st.
-
Well done, Larry. Nice OPL payout, too.
-
Larry did our league proud in the OPL!
-
Brief update as I am wiht the grandson. Tyler, Larry, Luke and Stephen were above 700 last week. Stephen and Tyler were above 3K for the last 30d. The biggest news remains the battle for 6th with Joe, leading Luke and Stephan for the final OPL eligible spot.
-
OPL: It looks like Larry's impressive OPL run has come to an end. He finished 6th amongst the 240 top OPL teams on the platform. He had a great season and did our league proud. It will be interesting to see how long that finish will remain the best finish from our league. I expect for quite some time!
-
Anna goes over 200!
-
OPL: Larry had a good Saturday, but he is down 101 (0.5d) with one day left. He needs a big day to make the final 4, but a top 8 finish is fantastic if not!
-
200 for Larry
-
I missed this: Luke had 200+ yesterday!
-
OPL: Larry’s opponent had a big day yesterday. Larry has an uphill run to get past the Elite Eight. Two days left.
-
OPL: 3d left not 4, so 12/d.
-
OPL: Larry had a good day and cut the lead to 36 with 4d to go (9/d).
-
The Ohtani news is very unfortunate!
-
OPL: Larry is down 82 with 4d to go in the Elite Eight round.
-
OPL: Larry and his opponent trade big days. Yesterday was the opponent’s turn. Larry is down 38 with 5d left.
-
Now, can I explain why someone would trade their best pitcher? It happens in MLB all the time. Maybe it was a salary cap issue. Happens a lot. Need room to buy promising pitchers. I did it with Wacha. Yes, it was a mistake now, but I have Ragans pitching like a demon and some great RP. I just do not know the circumstances. I forgot we could veto though,. So I learned something new.
-
My apologies, but I did not need Schanuel. I am loaded up with fastest prospects as I rebuild this team. Westburg, Encarnacion-Strand, Perdomo, etc. Plus I have Ronny Mauricio waiting patiently for the Mets to do something. In addition I have Bo Naylor, Logan O'Hoppe, Lane Thomas, etc. I have a whole lot of prospects in my line up. I looked at Schanuel and saw an average player with little overall interest across the board, so I apologize for not having interest in an another 3.5 ppg player.
-
OPL: Larry made up ground. He is down 9 with 6d to go.
-
Schanuel could have been had for $3 at auction yesterday. Why would anyone not bid but then trade one of the best pitchers in baseball for him? This is not what I signed up for. If this league is going to be competitive and fun we need to pay some attention and police ourselves. I know it is just pretend baseball, but I for one am not going to invest my time and effort if this kind of thing is permitted.
-
Larry has stated his case above, and all owners have the choice to veto. The one counter argument is that last week Schanuel became one of the quickest to be promoted to the majors in history....and this is a keeper league so long term value is also a consideration. Will Schanuel be the next Mike Trout? Perhaps not, but if an owner believes so.....not necessarily a bad trade. Each owner has the opportunity to veto.
-
I hate to have to raise this, but the trade of Schanuel for Strider is incredibly one-sided. Schanuel is a $4 player, 66% rostered and Strider is a $16 player 99% rostered. There is a veto option and I am going to vote to veto and suggest others consider doing so as well.
-
There are 6 weeks (42d) left in the season. 124 games played is on pace for 162.
-
The battle for 6th remains very close with Joe leading Stephan by 0.5g and Luke by 1g.
-
Weekly Update: Stephen, Brandon and Larry were over 700 last week, and Stephen and Tyler are over 3K for the past 30d. The top hitters and top pitchers are unchanged (Stephen, Larry, Tyler and Larry, Tyler, Brandon). The top 6 has one change as Tyler passed Bruce to move into 2nd (as Bruce is out of pitching for the year). With 42d left, there are only 3 teams within 21g of Larry (Tyler 7.5, Bruce 8, and Stephen 14.5). The projected top 6 are unchanged.
-
OPL: Larry's opponent had a big day yesterday and now has a 43pt lead with 7d to go. Go Larry!
