There are no dumb questions! The search bar still feels a bit like texting on the original Blackberry. Says the guy (me) who drafted the Life of Brian and keeps getting momentarily thrilled when the wrong Wander Franco pops up as a free agent playing for the Giants.

You're up at 2.1 as well Realignment
-
You can search under the players tab. I'm doing me best to add picks to the restricted list, but I can get a couple behind sometimes. Also make sure you select "All" instead of just "MLB" in the drop down in the players search.
-
I'm wrong, of course,. I see him on the roster for Camels. I must have had a filter on or something in the draft lobby idk : ( Tyler Freeman is my 1.12 pick. Is there a search function for all players? I don't see his name on this page....Sorry dumb Qs.

There's no way. He wasn't in our draft lobby and a ctrl-F doesn't show him on this page.

Hey guys, appreciate the feedback, there is definitely an appeal to the simplicity of the system you both suggested. I do think we need to play out this year under the current rules, so can one of you raise the point again in the offseason? I would also note, the 130/50/45 days service time is also clear-cut, it just is a different threshold.

Zingers select... Simeon Woods Richardson.
P -Tor.
I figure if the Mets traded him he must be good

In my 3 leagues where we have MiLB roster, we have the same rule as stated by New Zealand "we count one Major League at bat or one inning pitched as being ineligible for The milb rosters. It also stipulates that any player on an milb roster with one at bat or inning pitched during the season must be called up or dropped. " No grey zone

for example, Andres Munoz is 1.080 service time, but still rookie eligible. But whatever we decide is fine with me! just trying to avoid future headaches!
-
Again I'd like to state that I will play by any rules. But in my league we count one Major League at bat or one inning pitched as being ineligible for The milb rosters.
It also stipulates that any player on an milb roster with one at bat or inning pitched during the season must be called up or dropped.
It makes things real simple
-
also, i believe being on the 60 day IL counts as service time on baseball reference. but being on the 60 day IL does not count towards rookie status. so i dont think it is useful for us
-
it says the rookie status on baseball reference, but service time doesn't seem very good because it's counting last year as a full season i think... so it wont be consistent year to year in terms of days on active roster. I think 130 AB and 50 IP makes it easiest as those stats are available everywhere. If Rube wants Brubaker because he is right about what the constitution currently says that seems fair. But can we agree on something consistent going forward?
-
Baseball Reference also has service time and rookie status on their player pages

I think moving forward I will presume that someone under those limits is Rookie of the Year eligible and if they are barred for service time reasons anyone can provide that information to me. After some quick searching it looks like they have service time on roster resource and Brubaker has 1.000 years of service time?

With the 6th overall pick, The McCann Martians 👽 (formerly known as No Crying In Baseball) select, Emerson Hancock.
-
Hey Rube, fair point. I think based on the wording of the constitution you're right, he's not MiLB eligible ("- MLB Rookie of the Year eligible (i.e., has less than 130 MLB At Bats if hitter, 50 IP if pitcher)"). I think in my other league we had the service time component but, as Mittens points out, service time is hard to find publicly, so we had switched to AB/IP only.

ok. how do you know how many days they were on a ML roster?
-
The following is from a Baseball America article: "Given that we were without September callups this season, days of service on the major league roster will include September 2020," MLB said in a statement. "Thus, any player who accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a major league club or clubs during the 2020 regular season or during previous seasons prior to Sept. 1 will no longer be considered a rookie in 2021."

Since I nominated Brubaker, I would like some clarification. I was under the impression that if they spent more than 45 days in the majors in 2020, that means they lose rookie eligibility.

under 50 IP correct?
-
also, i believe Brubaker is as well..
-
Hey guys, while we are in the process of doing the MiLB draft, no MiLB eligible players can be added or dropped. Ryan Jeffers is MiLB eligible, and should not have been nominated, I will see if there's a way to cancel that out.
