Where do you get that from? Do the two need to be mutually exclusive?
-
Unreal, so u overturned this not because HM asked u to, but because u guys disagreed with it? Complete abuse of commish powers, and I'm sure Niv will agree
-
I think that's definitely the bigger issue.
-
The difference for me is Halliday cost $32. I voted against it but I'm not really sure reversing it after the fact is right either. It's more a symptom of only half the league being active on the issue.
-
What is the point of allowing cap $ trades if people aren't allowed to use them?
-
So as commish you're gonna start overturning trades u think aren't good?
-
It wasn't just me who didn't approve. It was everybody who's weighed in. The best I can do is remove Lawrie from your team if signing him was only possible with the trade.
-
And I didn't say anything in the first instance because it still left me with plenty of space for the season. And I knew I would get my money back after the season. I do not have an issue with the trade standing.
-
This is silly. I don't care one way or the other and I shouldn't need to explain my strategy. But I don't see how it is fair to Rye to screw up his cap space. Now he can't do anything.
-
So as commish you're gonna start overturning trades u think aren't good?
-
Check my Halliday trade w him...same thing. I took a flier on doc and gave him good prospects in return, but only if he included a big 1 year loan.
-
It didn't get vetoed because unfortunately not everybody in the league is active all the time. We have one owner that has a 3 man rotation and 1 person for 3 MI slots.
-
It's his cap room to do with as he likes. He didn't want to accept the trade with that high of a loan involved, so I cannot in good faith let it stand.
-
Loan (damn autocorrect)
-
The LAN goes away at season's end...HM would have Archer at a great salary forever
-
And a good P w a $2 or $3 salary is certainly worth a 1 season loan
-
So then why wasn't it vetoed? A 1 year loan from a team with a ton of cash for a v good prospect s nowhere near nuts. Archer's salary is $2 or $3 (I can't check because my team s now over the cap).
-
Unsurprisingly, it turned out to be a mistake.
-
I apologize for not immediately messaging or emailing you, but I felt I pretty clearly understood your intentions. In the 24 hours I had to address the situation I focused more on talking to my co-commissioner and Hot Mess, to understand his motivations.
-
Chris Archer is not worth more than McCutchen, correct. Had it been $5 or 10, no one would have said anything, but literally everyone who has voted on this or shared their thoughts to date has spoken out against it.
-
And to do all of this without so much as asking me my side, or giving me a chance to defend the move is even bigger crap
-
Su Urbana, u think the loan for $35 was so egregious that u need to step in and f up my whole cap situation, but thought NOTHING was wrong with Archer for Infante straight up? Gimme a break
-
Player for prospect?!? It's Omar Infante, not Miguel Cabrera! I made this trade specifically for the loan, and have done so WITH HOT MESS before! I made the trade so I could claim Lawrie, and was willing to give up Archer to get him.
-
This trade was not vetoed, because it makes sense. Archer has way more worth to hot mess than infante, and to sit on cash for the test of the season gives him zero benefit as well!
-
Because the loan was ridiculous, so much to the point that neither Hot Mess nor myself thought to look for it and assumed it was just standard player-for-prospect. As a result, Hot Mess accepted and I approved, where otherwise we would not have.
-
Hold on...I just logged on and saw the messages. I offered a top prospect to a rebuilding team in exchange for a crappy infielderi don't need, and a loan that I do need and it was accepted. How is that a trade where the commish overturns?!?
-
And Taco is correct. 50%+ 1 = 7. In the end it makes no difference to me. Let it be said that although I am in last place I gained 6 points in the past 2 weeks and am only 1.5 points behind Domo's high priced team. Just sayin' :)
-
Not to mention that a team with close to a $500 payroll is really defeating the point.
-
Accident is relative. I accepted on purpose but without seeing the loan at the bottom. Accepting that I wasn't careful in my perusal of the offer, I did not complain about it.
-
I wish they would tell you who voted and for what like with the old arb system instead of just giving us the raw numbers.
-
Regardless, Hot Mess said he accepted on accident, and even if he didn't Domo and I agree it should have been cancelled. This would have been so much easier if we just got the necessary #s to veto.
-
takes 7 to veto i believe
-
The saddest thing is that "dead" Mouserats is in 5th place without making one move.
-
The votes on the trade were 2 approve/5 veto/5 abstain. One of those approves was accidentally mine, so it should have been 1/6/5. It should have been vetoed anyway so it doesn't matter.
-
Doesn't that put him in a bad position since it seems he made moves relying on this trade/loan?
-
first try sending a trade proposal to rye in which he would basically just give you the money back. otherwise, i could just change the salary back to 29 if you want to trade him and subtract the salary elsewhere.
-
So if I wanted to trade Weaver-and I'm not saying I do-how do I go about adjusting the salary?
-
no worries...im sure he would be interested mid or post season
-
Thanks Taco for the lead on that. I don't know about replacing a team mid-season but if we do, I'll give your friend first crack.
-
And you have to remember to put their salaries back to normal after the season. But hopefully Niv can fix it.
-
I moved the players back. Unfortunately, moving loan money is not a commissioner tool so I added $35 to one of Rye's players and subtracted $35 from HM's. This should work until either Niv intervenes or one of you two can send the loan money back.
-
ive got a friend who was looking for a 4x4 team if you need a replacement
-
I'm just going to assume MouseRats is dead. He never bothered to fill out his roster after the draft.
-
perhaps the question is why so many people abstained or didnt comment here?
-
To many people abstained to block the trade from processing, but I'll find a way to reverse it.
-
Ok so the commissioner tools don't seem to be working but I'm on it.
-
I talked to Hot Mess and he didn't see that their was a loan either. So the trade will be cancelled. Should the two parties still be in agreement, a new deal can be reached. But the loan was ridiculous and has been rectified.
-
bother
-
I didn't even both checking to see if there was a loan and accidentally approved it. So let it be known i've changed my vote to veto.
-
Before I vote on the Rye/Mess trade, is there something I'm missing where Archer is worth $38 and a 3rd tier 2B?
