Hi everyone, please welcome our new owner Stefan! He came to us from SGRE's ESPN league and will be taking over Nick Senzational.
-
Hi everybody. At the moment, we have 10 owners in for next season, one out, and one still unaccounted for. So before I begin hitting up message boards looking for a replacement, I am putting out the call to everyone here to see if anyone has a friend/family member/coworker who might be interested in taking over a team. I find that owners remain more active and the league more competitive when you are competing against people you know. So if anyone has a recommendation, please let me know!

Hey everybody, please respond to Urbina's question about next year. We would like to get everyone's buy-in as early as possible to get any potential replacements lined up. Also, please note that the cost to use the Ottoneu platform will increase from $10 to $20. Hopefully this is not a major issue.

I am in for next year. Go Dodgers

Hey everybody, arbitration has now begun and we habe about a month to allocate. At this time, I was hoping to get commitments for next season so that if you decide to leave, we can bring a replacement in to allocate for you tout de suite. So, if you would like to carry on for 2019, please let us know, whether through a PM or a message board post. Thanks!
-
shortly before arbitration begins, believe. so when you allocate, it will be in addition to the inflated salary.

When do the end of season roster salary increases take effect?

Nice Season Jeff
great balance, several nice adds by trade and auction, just a solid season start to finish...
looking forward to offseason activity
-
Congratulations to Urbina. I thoroughly enjoyed my first Ottoneau season and learned quite a bit on roster construction and draft strategy. Go Dodgers.
-
awesome, hot mess! which games?
-
Wasn't planning on doing any off-season awards because I thought the results would be too similar to the midseason ones. Besides, that was devised as a diversion because the all star game is terrible. we should have plenty to occupy us with the playoffs and arbitration.
-
Congrat's Urbina! Just got my email for buying ALCS tickets for the Sox. Fingers crossed!
-
Not sure if I'm spoiling any offseason awards, but I think the two most important moves to the UF championship were drafting Juan Soto and picking up Max Muncy. Huge rewards relative to expectations.
-
As for the playoffs, I'm from Worcester MA so I'm a Sox fan, but all the years of fantasy have made me more of a baseball fan than a fan of any particular team. First choice is Boston but I'm mostly just interested in watching good baseball. The two playoff games yesterday were a blast. Always great seeing teams like Milwaukee, Colorado, and Oakland exceed expectations.
-
Thanks, guys. I played the waiver wire really aggressively this year and hit gold on a few guys, but funnily enough my greatest roster decision may have been waiting out Carpenter. On May 16 I was sitting on 50 points, and I told Senzational in a message I would cut him as soon as I could find someone who didn't suck. Carp's turnaround and acquiring Sale were the two factors I think won it for me this year.
-
And Aguilar! I was high on Aguilar, even when he languished in AAAA with Cleveland. He spent a lot of time in Columbus, so I saw him on a weekly basis. I'm glad to see him come into his own, especially for such a likeable team!
-
Tremendous season! Congrats to Urbina! Solid team in a more competitive league. I am a HUGE Brewers fan and this has been the most satisfying season since 1982. 2011 was great but you could tell that Prince was leaving and that we couldn't hold onto Greinke for long. This club appears to be starting a longer competitive run. Yelich and Cain are treats to watch each night.

Fun season, y'all. Who's everyone pulling for in playoffs? Even as a Cleveland fan, they've been so unremarkable this year I almost keep forgetting they're in.
-
Congratulations Jeff on another league victory!

Like i said, a lot of ties, so I was hoping to hold on and get to 12 votes. If anyone wants to see a visualisation of the results, you can click here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfXa2S2u_WXanGfhVtVBLrIUW70hGz1d5oXZntEJI1Qj3nayw/viewform?usp=sf_link

Best trade is a tie between UF sending Robles and Kopech to receive Sale and Iglesias and LC sending Wood to receive Suarez. Best breakout pitcher: tie between Hader and Snell. Best breakout hitter: Jesus Aguilar, runners up Albies and Gennett (tie).
-
only got 9 responses, which is a bit disappointing, but seeing as it's Monday we might as well make it public. Best early auction buy: David Peralta, runners up Javier Baez and Xander Bogaerts. Best late auction buy: tie, Juan Soto and Miles Mikolas. Best waiver wire addition (pitcher): Mike Foltynewicz, runners up are Dominguez, Ottavino, and Stripling (3 way tie). Best waiver wire add (hitter): Max Muncy, runners up are Bauers, Hernandez, and Davidson (3 way tie).
-
thanks, guys. i've had a great month. surprisingly, it seems the best move i've made all year has been not cutting Carpenter. baseball is a weird sport.
-
Not insurmountable for sure, but my guess is that the league is more competitive right now, top to bottom. If I was a betting man, I would say that it is 1 to 2 for Urbina to win against the field right now! I think his Chris Sale trade finished it off. Great work co-Commish!

Not insurmountable LC. I finished with 86 points in 2016 only to be topped by your 87. Damn you Craig Kimbrel!
