Yea but has anyone seen you and DJIB in the same room? Can we get an independent investigations into this? How many trash cans were involved?
-
Apparently the key is to offer me guys with the same last name as the guy I already have.
-
I exist. Proof! Every once in a while I actually respond to a trade, see?
-
Apparently JBE stealthily renewed, so we're all set for next year.
-
Sounds a lot like Delmon Young...
-
nah man, just a weekend warrior league full of overweight dudes pretending to be athletes.
-
Are you playing with Delmon Young? I hear he's wrecking the Australian league.
-
I've got baseball on today. Game is at 1:30 and should go until 3:30-4, which will take me right up to midnight your time. Don't wanna risk it, so I'm gonna cut a bit earlier than I planned. Good luck the rest of the way, boys.
-
Haha. That’s incredible lol.
-
I can confirm he's existed since the year 2000. Unless he's been assumed by the computer collective. I haven't physically seen him in a couple years.
-
lol. That’s what I was joking about. The messages have read receipts haha.
-
He's real. Just not great at responding to trade proposals.
-
Hey Pods, are you real?
-
The whole thing is a stawman anyway. The list of available players waivers is incomplete.
-
Maybe, Dansby Swanson, lol?
-
and who are the top SS on waivers???
-
I think the issue is less the quality of the players you're offering and more what you're looking for in return..."a front-end SP and a prospect"...top three SP on waivers are Soroka, Bumgarner, and Quintana...
-
Urbina, I think some of being a Cleveland fan and having to deal with this Lindor garbage all offseason is going to my head.
-
I disagree with you Urbina. I am ready and willing to trade a $10 hurt Alex Reyes for Xandar Bogs + Bichette right freaking now.
-
Sorry, Max. It's too late to trade for those guys. Would have loved a chance at Bogaerts but I've already traded for 2 SS, and it would leave me with a bigger hole at SP. Deals for foundational players need to be done early so you can build around them. I'm sure most people already have their teams more or less set, so asking someone to shake it up at the last second, without any ability to make follow up moves, just ain't gonna work.
-
Nolan Jones is where my hopes lie right now, lol
-
Max, I will trade you Alex Wood for both of Bogs and Bichette
-
You're killing me AHWT! Sonny - Bogearts for Triston McKenzie - I know you love those Tribe prospects...you know you want to do it!

I wish I had a son so he could be in this league too. Sooper Jelly
-
Over my dead fantasy body
-
I'm genuinely surprised me being willing to deal Bogaerts, Bichette, or Villar hasn't generated anything *hint hint*. Sometimes my brain forgets that SS has been an incredibly deep position as of late.
-
I would suggest Rendon, Acuna and Story for starters....:)

I don't know who to cut because I get emotionally attached to players.
-
Lots of owners waiting to drop just before the deadline. Is there a bunch of trade chatter out there?

Ooooo, wow, I just did a lot of research into coronavirus for a podcast, comparing it to past plagues/pandemics. Have a fun next two weeks! Genuinely hope for good health and that all is fine!
-
No worries, mate. It used to be March but Niv changed it this year so it aligned with the cut deadline. Rosters lock between the cut deadline and draft, so that has always been a danger zone where people don't check the site and get booted for missing the renewal date. The change is meant to avoid all that.
-
Sorry lads. Was in China. It's paid up now. I thought I had until March before I left.
-
It's practice for the optimal draft strategy of waiting until there's one second left to up the bid.
-
Yes, Hot Mess is now paid. That leaves Jung Bong and Gurriel. Come on, guys! There's no need to take it down to the wire.
-
LOL @AHWT! I did and maybe one of the commishes can confirm or deny if he actually followed through on my text message to him :)

@Arcia Later - tell your son to get his Hot Mess together and pay his dues.
-
And so there were three. We have now come to the point of naming names. Jung Bong's Ephs, Hot Mess, and Gurriel our Lourdes and Savior have not renewed for next season. If they are your friend or your familial relation, please reach out to them directly to have them renew their membership. Please note that the 1/31 date is now static, so there is nothing to be gained by waiting to renew.
-
Okay, we're down to 4 teams left to renew. Please renew by Friday so that you don't get kicked out by the system!
-
Congrats dude! No NCAA baseball powerhouses here in Maryland, so I can't say I get too much into it.
-
Any of y'all particularly into college baseball? I just took a job at Ohio State, so my baseball ticket prices are dirt cheap. Problem is, NCAA baseball is almost nothing here in Ohio. We did have Nick Swisher tho. Any recommendations for good sites/blogs that follow the college game closely?
-
Reminder: Everyone needs to renew by January 31 in order to maintain their teams into next season. There are seven owners who have not renewed, so please take the time to get that done.
-
I'm particularly fond of Strat-o-Matic
-
Agreed. It also has no context for prospects, players that provide positional flexibility, or disagreements with the projection systems. So use it to help inform decisions, but don't take it too literally.
-
Great discussion gents. I would only add that those plus and minus ratings are just guidelines. I wouldn't make your roster decisions solely on that value. Positional scarcity, stat scarcity and other roster construction factors are not considered.

Rostered, not rotated
-
That makes sense. Thanks for your explanation. That was helpful DJIB
-
By default, the calculator uses Steamer. But you can change that based on preference, and ZIPs is available after they do the final team rollout. I believe that a positive value player is worth rostering, and someone below zero is providing negative production and therefore should not be rotated. Which would make zero the line of replacement level.
-
I think your summary makes sense. I wasn't sure if they use steamer in the calculator or a different projection system to get that value? So do negative values mean that player is projected to have negative value or just some amount of dollars below the average production? Is 0 average? I think that's where I get thrown off a little bit.
-
Not sure if any of this answers the question, but the system calculates a replacement value based on the league size, scoring, and salary cap, then determines how much value they generate vs. the replacement player. One of the inputs to the calculator is the projection system, which would develop the replacement player then determine how much their production contributes above and below the replacement.
