By free, I do mean you would be buying his salary off me. no loans in this case.
-
I'm interested

I’m probably going to cut Zach plesac as a salary dump. If you want him for free instead of doing the waiver thing, hit me up.
-
Rumor has it I'm out of players to trade. We'll see about that.

I just wanted to get in on the action.
-
It's almost easier to parse by looking at the players who weren't traded. Basically everyone rumored was traded, except for the Rockies. Bonkers stuff.
-
What a crazy deadline that was. And the weirdest part was that Preller wasn't involved in any of the trades.
-
Same thought process for me with Hassell haha
-
Lo siento
-
*Well, fuck
-
Well fuck
-
I had him waitlisted for a while, and when I saw the hype machine kick into gear, I figured the gig was up and that I might as well start the auction because he wouldn't fly under the radar anymore.
-
Lol. I was just curious becasue Moreno was Keith laws mid season number 5 prospect on his update on the athletic on the same day as the nom.
-
Now that the auction is concluded, I would like to dispel any rumours that I read Keith Law or take anything from ESPN seriously.
-
Looks like somebody read Keith laws prospect rankings with those hassell and Moreno rankings.
-
Losing Acuna for the year certainly opens a lot of of doors for a lot of teams.
-
Thanks for the kind words, Urbina. Best of luck to the rest of you in the back half.
-
Congrats to AHWT on a dominant first half! I've never seen an offence perform at this level before. I'm gonna try my hardest to make this competitive, but he's built himself quite the lead.
-
Always a scary feeling when you check your lineup and see that, without making a move, you've gained a roster spot.
-
Kinda makes me regret trading him for Blake Trienan a few years ago...
-
Not gonna lie, last night was a good night.
-
Congrats to TTBNL, who has got to be the giddiest 12th place owner in the entire OttoNeu universe right now.
-
whoops spoke too soon. hanging slider from Graveman makes it -7 on the day and -16 for the week. I think I need to pick up some new leagues, I'm way too invested in this shit.
-
Lose Scherzer, Muncy, and Bieber to injury, -15 points in seven days. What a fun week this has been!
-
If the Bong's Ephs don't win this auction something is terribly wrong with the world
-
any team wanting to play OPL next season will need their team to finish no lower than sixth in its full, active League
-
It was still a fun experience and I learned a lot. If I choose to enter again next year, I think I will take a different strategic approach. If anyone is interested in signing up next year, feel free to message me for strategy discussion.
-
OPL update #2: As you can see from the faded OPL logo next to my team name, I unfortunately did not make the cut for Round 3. My production was basically exactly the same as Round 1, but with the stiffer competition, I was unable to break through the top 100 and finished a very mediocre 130th. I simply didn't have the quality required to make the cut, nor was I able to make up for it with sheer quantity because of the number of injured an MiLB guys I rostered.
-
Looking for a legitimate ace and wont be able go keep pace urbinas ratios. Was gunning for scherzer as well with luzardo as the corner piece. Hit me up. Happy to open talk up to sixto snachez as well or another young future builder.
-
There's definitely been a learning curve. It's taken me a while to develop a strategy, and in some respects 4x4 has helped me because I've been able to get steals and saves at below market rates. The most challenging aspect has been trying to balance the need to quickly accumulate points with the cautious approach roto scoring necessitates. If I could do it again, I might not have rostered so many minor leaguers, especially the far off High-A types I like to grab with my last few auction picks.
-
Gotcha. Best of luck! Im sure your 4x4 roster doesn't translate to super easily to a points league. Maybe it does. Could be wrong. Just imagine its not as natural or advantageous as a pre-existing points team owner or 5x5

Same team, same name. I'm in 116th place right now. They cut another 70 at the end of the month so I need to place #100 or better to qualify for round three.
-
Urbina, what is your team name in OPL? I was looking at the standings but didnt see you. I honestly wasnt overly impressed with the guys in the top 10 or so. You have a great shot i think.
-
Beyond that, it's all gonna be a crapshoot. There are some juggernaut teams that have entered the comp. Apparently some of these leagues have custom rules that reduce the impact of arbitration. There's one team that has Soto, Acuna, Vlad, Bieber, Glasnow, and Burnes for like maybe $70 combined. Thankfully this loophole has been identified and teams from custom leagues will be barred from entering in the future.
-
so I blow out my GPs and IPs, but the OPL is a best ball comp so it's all about depth and accumulation. I've also learnt that you get points for SBs, holds, and saves, so our 4x4 is really advantageous those stats are not valued here so I can get them at a discount. I've tried to load up on closers in the past week to take advantage of this. Another 70 teams are cut at the end of May, and with a new approach I'm feeling good about my chances of making the top 100 and advancing to round 3.
-
OPL Update #1: I made the first cut. The lowest 70 teams are eliminated at the end of the month and I came in a comfortable 112/240. Considering the laundry list of injuries I've dealt with and getting virtually no production from the pitchers I bought at auction, I feel extremely lucky to have done so. It's also taken me a while to get acclimated to the strategy particular to the OPL and its points scoring system. I'm normally very cautious as a manager and try not to overload my bench
-
I've also had a couple nights since then where my OBP has outweighed my SLG. All things ebb and flow with time, I suppose.
-
One week ago (April 14), I updated my trade block complaining about how bad my pitching has been. Since then, I have had a league-leading 1.48 ERA. lmao.
-
Lol yeah. I just don't like him in general. Almost didn't keep him when I inherited my team. That said, in hindsight I should've put him on the block. But I just didn't want to deal with him. Live and learn.
-
Looks like we've got our first rage cut of the season!
-
Sounds like a one off problem then. And probably moot too because the radar in Baltimore doesn't look good.
-
For anyone interested, turns out their data provider had a 6:35 start for that game and they missed updating it to 7:05.
-
Yeah, after figuring it’s likely related to the rain delay, that definitely seems like a bug on their end. I’ll shoot out a message Niv and see what he has to say about it.
-
If you suspect lineups are being prematurely locked, I would recommend posting on the community message board. That sounds like more of a development issue than a commissioner one.
-
Sorry for the absurd number of messages. Looks like they’re in a rain delay even though it’s not even time for the game to start. #Themoreyouknow
-
He's probably going to go 0-4 anyway, so it might be a blessing is disguise, but I just hadn't experienced this before and wasn't sure if this was an occasional bug or something.
-
I'm trying to sub Trammel in for Conforto; it's 6:51PM EST and the game starts at 7:05 EST. I should be able to do that right? It's saying Trammell is locked, though it's more than 5 min to game time. It doesn't look like the start time changed; has anyone else noticed players getting locked earlier than they should be? I can move other players around, so for some reason it's just affected my SEA guys (I don't have anyone from BAL, so I'm not sure if its just a SEA issue or not).
-
There's just something about bad rangers players you know.
-
I might have to start a running tally for the season. The Ronald Guzman All-Stars. I'm sure I'll be adding someone to the team at some point.
