• This issue was discussed in my other league with a 5 MiLB supplemental roster. Where we landed based on a plain text reading of the rules was that MiLBers could be added to the 40 man roster, but not dropped until after the auction, which would require them to be added first and then incur the $1 penalty. The language of the MiLB roster rules is nearly identical to our league's, so that would be my recommendation.

• If we change that rule and allow teams to drop players directly from the minor league roster they would not be assigned a salary and they would not be available on waivers. Personally I like the way we've been doing it but if the league wants to change I'll open it up for discussion

• Since we've only been allowing teams to drop minor league players by first calling them up to the majors and then dropping them from our major league roster do we want to start dropping players directly from the minor league roster? It has an impact in that dropping a player from the major league roster gives the player a value of a dollar and is eligible on waivers which would not be permitted at this time.

• Based on the CSV roster export, it doesn't look like anyone on the restricted list has a FG Major League id (except Honeywell, but he doesn't have any MLB service time). When players are promoted to the majors, FG automatically assigns them a five digit code (except some older players have some 4 digit ones).

• My other league with the 5Milb lets you add from you Milb roster whenever, regardless of the current state the league is in. I'm with Axiom and believe Spiders should be able to "call up" his guys.

• FWIW, this issue came up in another Ottoneu 5x5 that I'm in that has a 5 MiLB with similar rules (i.e., "MiLB can be promoted at any time") where I wanted to promote a guy from MiLB roster after the cut deadline but before the draft. After some discussion, the transaction was allowed to go through based on a plain text reading of our league's constitution. I think Spiders should be allowed to make those promotions.

• The rules for the MiLB5 state that “ 5MiLB players may be cut, traded, or “called up” (added) to an owner’s standard 40-man Ottoneu roster at any time during the calendar year, except the days in which a draft (annual auction or 5MiLB) is in process.” so i think this should be fine?

• Technically rosters are frozen until after the draft.
  You may be able to move them after the draft and before the Minor League draft starts.

• In my other league, we basically put the 1st pick "on the clock" when the draft ends and try to keep a 24 hour time limit on the picks so that there is some movement to the draft. We don't strictly adhere to the 24 hour clock, but give the owner a reminder of their pick if the window passes.

• One more thing.
  I noticed the draft order Ottoneu made is NOT exactly in reverse order of last years standings.
  
  For MILB we can choose to go in reverse order of the final standings rather then keep the order of the main draft. Probably fairer that way.
