Howdy Gents. Just made my cuts and I'm ready to begin the draft whenever yall are. The cupboard is bare but I look forward to the challenge!
-
Well thatโs commish duties ๐คท๐ฝ on the other hand, so is keeping the league stable when possible. So I take no pleasure now that our friend behind Macho Row has been issued a refund and will be leaving us. Best of luck, Mr Row!
-
Awesome! Thanks for handling this.
-
waiting to confirm with exiting manager that they 100% do want to exit

yes sir. When I make the manager wanted post I am going to note that we prefer slow auction and will do one this year, as well as in the league description/mission statement (that no one reads usually)

Do we need to let it be noted to the new manager then that the league is slow draft going forward or do we all not agree to that?
-
Our league is maturing, so fewer spots and cap $ free than last year, but we still need time. Also we will need to fill a team manager spot, Niv from Otto has allowed (fairly!) a manager to abandon for refund who does not want to slow auction. That will probably occur this evening.

as of this AM it looks like 95% probability we are doing slow auction. If you mentioned you will be traveling or unavailable on certain days of week, I need to know whether that is 100% unavailable/no internet/time or if you just can't sit for 2-3 hours for regular auction. It will still take around a week for slow draft like last year, but if we can't do ANY Mon,Tue,Fri, or at all for most of Feb, we'll have trouble drafting, period

hey folks when the survey asks which date you cannot do, that is not prefer not to do that date. It means I have or will have an obligation and cannot draft. just clarifying- we are a busy lot, apparently. also, I may reach back out about your flexibility
-
I made a survey in order to help us get to the best outcome for drafting: https://forms.gle/rGYLCn5e9qPgJDS6A
-
I agree with papi as I'm in many leagues and its hard to find an open date for me
-
I Just want to add that people choosing slow draft are probably in many many leagues or work on shifts, itโs not to irritate other owners
-
Folks I think we are on our way to being a โwe only do slow auctionsโ league. Is that what we want long-term? People who take on manager roles as people leave will want to know that going in.
-
3 slow, 1 fast so far. Iโll tie break but otherwise I think Iโll stay out of it. I love democracy- do it while you still can!

good for me

How bout a vote on slow or 1 day and go with the majority?
-
I cannot do any Tuesday
-
Ok letโs try to figure one out- Iโm game for it (though this is why I donโt want to be commissioner)! Honestly I can make almost any evening work except Monday and Friday. A couple other leagues I play in are drafting sundays 2-16 and 2-23 in the evening. What about a random Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday evening over the next few weeks?

I object. Slow drafts suck. Why take something that can be knocked out in 2-3 hours and stretch it out over 200+? There isnโt a single window in late Feb or March that works for everyone?
-
Would like to get draft set up and ready- it seems like The slow auction on couch managers (as we did last year) is acceptable to everyone who has chimed in so far. **I will set it up to begin at 8 am eastern on 3/10 if there are no objections by 2/7.** Please respond here or in the message box by Friday 2/7 if you cannot do this. Otherwise I will take your silence as acquiescence!

i'm fine with it
-
Seems acceptable to everyone, if not preferred. And we donโt have to coordinate 3 exactly hours that 12 strangers from different places can be available
-
Ok what if we start couch managers 8 am eastern on 3/10? Itโs easy ๐คท๐ฝ
-
Couch managers please
-
I cannot be 3/5 -3/9. Out of town without service.
-
I can do 3/5-3/9 as well

I can do 3/5 or 3/6
-
Im off work 3/5 and could make that a live day. 3/8 afternoon. 3/9 evening too
-
I would very much prefer a live draft.
-
Same for me. Enjoyed the obsession of the slow draft last year ๐
-
I prefer couch managers
-
I am incredibly popular. However, in a minor miracle, I do not have any plans aside from 3/5 - 3/9.
-
lol I hear you- I think you know I have a handful of obligations myself... tbh my objection to couch managers is that i stare it too long/check it too much and a 2 hour draft would eliminate that guilt

I own 13 teams in various leagues, I do have some dates I can do, but am not opposed to couch managers either
-
We made it through to a new season, and I think we have 12 incumbemnt managers from this time last year- nice! Time to schedule draft. I favor 2 things- 1. starting early so that FA auctions, drops, etc start early, and 2. I actually prefer a live auction to couch managers. I will throw out some dates & times for a live draft, but if we can't do it, we will do couch managers again. If all of you *really* prefer the couch managers draft, let me know, and I will set that up to start asap.

Ok full renewal!
-
2 teams left to pay- they are looking at each other from far across last years standings!
-
if anyone is interested a league I'm in has a team available $100 league league name "League of Gentlemen"
-
Sure Iโd like to schedule but there are 3 team managers who still need to renew. Would hate to get everyone to agree on a date and then be missing team managers!
-
time to find a draft date?
-
Happy New Year!
End of the month is keeper deadline and also team renewal deadline. Renewal is pretty self-explanatory (pay your league fee or your team gets auto-abandoned); Keeper deadline is last chance to get your team legal and ready for the auction draft.
From otto rulebook, rule VIII section E:"Teams must always be able to field a 40 man roster for $400; therefore following the keeper deadline, a team salary must never exceed $360 + the number of players on the roster.&qu
-
Same I'm here just don't plan on doing much till keeper deadline. Cheers to tasty brews Macho!
-
Still here, just don't plan on looking at anything baseball related until the New Year. Spending some time with family, watching the Eagles poop the bed, chasing off a nasty cold, and enjoying some tasty brews.
-
Vladdy too.
-
Is Macho Row still with us? Hasnt been on in over a month?
-
Awesome job everyone- 100% arbitration participation! Makes the league better when everyone stays involved.

Well that was a wild WS game 5. Congrats to Dodgers and their fans (and Yankees fans, that was painful but there is always next year). Make sure you do your arb adjustments by 1159 pm eastern on 11/15.
