Read an article about sleepers, guess he is not a sleeper here
-
Ive never heard of serenthapy dominguez ,yet he is owned in all 3 leagues im in. Jeremy owns him twice
-
Advanced dementia.
-
This convo today would be more explicable if it was NGB that had been heavily drugged. Maybe itβs early onset dementia? Or in his case, just dementia.
-
Just to be clear, LouBob is not an original creation of mine, I read it somewhere and also thought it was pretty cool.
-
I really hope LouBob sticks as a nickname.
-
And Brew, you should ignore Vladito's 80 FV because he never put up numbers as good as Nunez's at any level. So now that we know Kloobs is going to be picking up Nunez based on DSL stats, you should trade Vladito for Nunez, assuming Kloobs would even make that trade. You might have to throw-in an additional player or two.
-
Kloobs, I really thought my Jhon Torres reference would draw you into to conversation with a tart comment. Glad you finally made it. For the record, 20-80 scale tool grades by BA are not the same as BA's FV assignments. So, I agree with you, I hope everyone scouts prospects based on FV assignments.
-
I distinctly remember all BA analysts universally panning Cozens three years ago, all pointing out that his swing would never hold up against advanced-level pitching; at the same time about half the BA analysts didn't hold out much hope for Hoskins and about half of them saw something in Hoskins. I'd really be surprised if Cozens was ever ranked ahead of Hoskins by BA, but I have all the prospect handbooks going back that far. When I get home I can check on it.
-
You left out Dalton Pompey or the toolsy Travis Snyder
-
LouBob (Luis Robert) put up a 1.000+ OPS in Dominican Summer League... translated to .626 OPS in A+ ball.
-
Alford v. Vladito.... just conjecture.
-
Fred is on heavy pain killers
-
Not
-
Perfect analogy
-
I get you loud and clear Brew, in fact it may be that Anthony Alford is a way better Blue Jays prospect than Vladito, who knows... right??
-
Ngb you were talking about inner organizational prospect rankings, not tools. So in that context, my Cozens hoskins refrence is entirely valid. Cozens was at that time, deemed as heir apparent to ryan Howard
-
βIβm not R Kellyβ is a great line. Fred is on fire
-
Ill take minor league stats in context of age and level over the completely subjective βtools that playβ all day long. So yes, everyone else please remember that FV is all that really matters
-
Im not in the nunez derby, im not r kelly
-
I believe Altuve was 9th best prospesct of Houston , maybe 12th ? Degrom was 10th best prospect of Mets when he came up for a spot start, and never went back
-
You're wrong about Cozens and Hoskins, even when Cozens was putting up big numbers BA had Hoskins tools graded higher. Remember, it's tools that play, not minor league stats. BA not very high on Nunez's tools compared to the two 3B prospects ahead of him in Cardinals system. Anyway, Brew, this should be music to your ears, I'm just helping you get Nunez for a buck.
-
Donβt know anything about Cardinals rookie ball, but thatβs a great point RE Hoskins/Cozens. Read about Cozens first
-
Thats conjuncture. Same thing could have been said about Cozens and Hoskins three years ago
-
Or they're a genius... thin line there.
-
Might be two arrows up, but Nunez is only the third best 3B prospect in Cardinals system at this point. Anyone who buys Nunez while Nolan Gorman is on the FA list in our league isn't being very smart.
-
Is*
-
Being a Cardinal system prospect us two arrows up in my book
-
1 - what a triple slash! But 2 - it's still the Dominican Summer League.
-
Speaking of looking up guys I don't know, now I am really interested to see what folks bid on a 17 year old that tore up the Dominican Summer League to a tune of .415/.497/.774.
-
I liked Lavigne equally to Kristan Robinson and Bubba Thompson at the draft. Wanted one of those 3 to go long on. Ran out of money and had to draft zero upside vet starters ,unfortunately. Even go long prospects ,if they are good, and rise quickly (like afore mentionef Adell) are hard currency in this league.
-
FYI - if you nominate someone I don't know, you can't bet I'm going to look him up and if I decide I like him and have the space, I'm gonna bid on him. I find the people in this league to generally be outstanding scouts.
-
BA: "Lavigne has the type of bat that will put him on the fast track. He is a prototype for a Gold Glove, Silver Slugger-caliber first baseman."
Not out of the question to hope for 2021, as we've seen, in today's mlb, the fast track can be very fast. Not a stretch to think he could go thru both A-levels this season and be in AA by 2020. At that point he could be deemed mlb ready at any time.
-
And Zombie, maybe I'm taking your use of the word "prospect" too literally. Perhaps you were thinking of McMahon as the Rockies #1 "prospect" at 1B... using the word prospect very loosely.
-
Brew, As I think I've mentioned to you more than once already, if you really want a guy, put your $$ were your desires are. In this case, $2 would have done it.
-
And Brew, Please, I'm very confident that Lavigne was on my radar before you even knew how to spell his name. I have a few other guys in the same category, i.e., that I really like, but won't bring to auction until next season if I can get away with it. If I can't get away with it then I have to make a decision. Lavigne was borderline for me, that's why I was willing to give you a 50% chance of keeping him.
-
Zombie, Baseball America has Lavigne as the Rockies #1 prospect at 1B. Maybe you think Colton Welker is a 1B prospect in light of Arenado being signed long-term, but BA actually grades Lavigne's tools out better than Welker's tools. None of this addresses what's probably your main point and that's why grab Lavigne now when he's so far away from mlb. That's a good point. Although if things go well this season, Lavigne could perhaps be flippable as early as next season.
-
If you liked him so.much you would have drafted him yourself or nominated yourself. Just because you live in themountains doesnt give you claim to all, some, part or none of the rockies. That is assinine . Like a spoiled child who diesnt want a toy until another kid wants it
-
Its bullshit wbat you dud and you know it
-
Aren't you guys getting a little worked up for a guy with a 2022 time frame, who is at best the #2 1B prospect in the Rockies system?
-
I'm guessing Kevin will flip Adell for a bit more benefit.
-
I think if I had been in your shoes, I would have just cut De Jong for $5 of cap space and an open roster slot, before I would have traded Adell for what you received. Of course we all have opinions, and mine are wrong most of the time.
-
Also, Lavigne is a 1B prospect, and we all know there is no such thing as a 1B prospect, so in no way would he have replaced Adell. If you want to replace Adell, I can trade Jhon Torres to you.
-
And, BTW, there are many, many other plums out there. I'm sure you'll be able to fill your roster slot without coming into my backyard.
-
Of course i proposed it, i had 0 cap space. I offered adell to 5 other gms, the ones with cap.space, and only kevin accepted.
-
Please tell me you were the one who proposed that trade and that it wasn't a classic Kevin mesmerizing coup.
-
I traded adell , a hitter ,for castillo who is now on 60 day dl. So i wanted a hitting prospect to replace adell who kevin the wise now has
-
Wether a player is a cub, rockie, braves, red is not germaine to the situation. I did my research and found a young plum that nobody saw fit to draft or nominate these last few weeks
-
Didn't nominate him for a very specific reason that I cannot yet reveal.
-
So everyone knows, before the season starts if an auction ends in a tie, a coin flip determines who wins the player. After the season starts, ties go to the owner lower in the standings.
