What this deal says is that you value $31 in salary more than Freeman and that you also value Pearson at at least $15. I'm confused.

BTW, For those who must know, I started checking rosters from the top of the standings downward and didn't find a team w/ a clear need at 1B and everything else I needed till I got down to Captain Crunch.

No net loan. I was looking for a way to access Freeman's cap space while also picking up an elite prospect and doing all that within the constraints of our hard cap... not easy, given Freeman's substantive salary. So I'll be cutting Votto for the cash, and hoping someone is still interested enough to take a flyer on him @ $16. Better flyer than Miggy.

That's an interesting trade.. a good asset PLUS a loan for a cuttable guy and a MiLB dude that I've never heard of. Not required of you to defend yourself, but I'd love to hear the reasoning on that one, NGB. (perhaps you have some inside info on Votto - if so, please share it cause i have him in another league)

I think it probably has something to do with the fact he's not exhibited enough control to be a good starting pitcher. Like, not in MLB, or the minors, or at any stop along the way throughout his professional career.

Yeah, the constitution I have here in my office says this deal cant be made until June 1. 425 hard cap means you cant take on that loan until June.

I’m driving so I can’t look up the league constitution to confirm, but I’m pretty sure $425 is the cap until 6/1, so that trade is a no-go until then.
