Kev has a shot at 2nd too if he has a big hitting day
-
Dang, Cesar scored 28 more points than my entire starting lineup yesterday. Tryin to hand over 2nd
-
Sounds like True Grit
-
More like on a bender. Hes whiskey bent and hellbound
-
He said heโd be โon the Riverโ
-
Is kevin somewhere wearing a bandanna with a canteen and a machete ?
-
For those of you old enough to remember Mutual of Omahas Wild Kingdom
-
What does " in the field " exactly mean anyway ? I'm picturing marlin perkins and his aid Jim in a landdover riding parallel to rhinos
-
I vote that the Seven day rule simple extend into the offseason. I canโt see how someone would benefit from being able to carry extra guys a week into the offseason as opposed to cutting down on the last day.
-
I totally forgot about the 7 day rule thing. Sorry about that! Iโm good with whatever the league decides and donโt necessarily want to punish folks if they also forgot about the rule.
-
I'm probably missing something, but I don't see that Kev gains any advantage by getting to 40 a few days later than the rest of us.
-
Kev can't fix it by the end of tomorrow. To address B&B's grievance I think the rest of us should get down to 40 by the end of tomorrow and Kev be required to get down to 40 as soon as he can.
-
Gotcha. Well, I just realized Kev is illegal in old Full Circuit, and he's in the field for the next week, so nevermind what I said. He's not going to be able to fix that, and we can't enforce a player cap for some and not others based on selective availability, so I guess we'll just let it go.
-
*** Err... of course, except for at the end of the season, where our tradition has been to turn a blind-eye to folks abusing the 7-day rule to load up on fringy players going into the off-season.
-
We've had no problems with anyone not in the field, abusing that.
-
We set the 7-day rule to that length to protect folks who might be doing fieldwork during the season and might not have access to the internet for a few days at a time.
-
We said 7 days? Man, that's an incredibly long grace period. Needs to be asap, but no more than like 24 hours before the offending transaction is undone. But that's something we can address in the off-season. As far as the end of this season goes, yes, I think it's clearly against the spirit of the rules to go into the offseason with more than 40 players. The rules say specifically that there is no salary cap in the offseason, so I don't care about $$, but the player limit should be followed.
-
his team illegal. All that said, I'm all for a hard 40-man cap on rosters by the end of the last day of the season. As always, I'll follow whatever our rules are... but could we please have a clear statement by at least early tomorrow of what, if any, decisions have been made.
-
The ottoneu punishment for an illegal roster is that it gets locked down. Obviously, as far as ottoneu is concerned, there is no such thing as an illegal roster in the off-season, that's why rosters that would have been locked down in-season are not locked down in the off-season. We previously added our own rule, that in-season we had 7 days to address an illegal roster. B&B's problem was that he was more than 7 days away from the end of the season when his transaction occurred that m

Correct
-
Question , if I dropped someone today, he could be claimed at full salary still, but not auctioned for lesser amount...am i correct ?
-
I'll be legal at season's end, and Kershaw ends up in next year's auction.
-
For what it's worth my plan has been to cut Kershaw tomorrow. I am just running an illegal lineup until then.
-
โFlexibilityโ is probably the wrong word since rosters are locked for part of this time.
-
That would be the most baseball thing to do, though ottoneu seems intentionally structured to provide roster flexibility through the keeper deadline.
-
There is no 60 day DL once season ends. Everyone should get down to 40
-
โlegal at the end of the day the season ends.โ <-- Totally agree.
-
you still can add 60 day dl guys to have more than 40
-
I like this but think it should be โlegal at the end of the day the season ends.โ At least I think Niv fixed the bug/feature that allowed auctions to end after the season.
-
Yeah, rosters have to be legal, even during the offseason
-
Iโve done the last minute auction to go into the offseason with an illegal roster thing in the past. Itโs never panned out, but it could someday. I think in both leagues we should require that all rosters be legal the day after their season ends.
-
I thought you should have just carried an illegal roster and waited to see if anyone freaked out. My guess is that a full week would have been the line that caused someone to say something.
-
Would it have totally fine if I didn't cut anybody when I had an illegal lineup earlier this week and just waited out the season? Cause there are a couple of teams here doing just that. If that would have been cool, I'd like those players back
-
Redraft league keep 10 would be fun I bet
-
Well $5 isn't that much more than the after-inflation minimum of $2 for minor-leaguers and $3 for major-leaguers. But a $5 minimum salary would kill the idea of holding minor-leagues past a single season, which is a fun part of the game.
-
It is, you can change salaries as a commish. It would turn otto into a redraft league with 10 keepers though.
-
I like the $5 minimum salary idea. Is it technically feasible?
-
The new collective bargaining agreement will state that any rookie or free agent that ends the season on a 40 man roster gets an immediate minimum salary of $5.
-
I don't plan on doing this here, but I would just like to point out that it is a simple thing to bid up all the last minute auctions, only to cut them immediately. No real point other than blocking other owners and preventing arbitration abuse.
-
Yes Henry, you gotta be cruel to be kind
-
Answer: Inflation should be applied on a logarithmic scale.
-
You could say the same for Ottoneu.
-

That should be "and last year"
-
Both this year and I think this year I didn't make 1500 innings. Not for lack of trying, but I didn't want to cut an injured pitcher to pick up a lesser quality one.
-
What about the vote player off team.idea ?
-
Using innings is meaningless. Need to try and score points, not pick up Rox SPs to throw meaningless frames. And 1300 is pointless. Anyone can get to 1500 if theyโre in anyway trying to.
-
How about bit more lenient, 1300 points, and if you don't make it, rest of the league gets to vote someone off your team. Or maybe you have to use 1000 innings minimum.
-
So the final lost tally last night for my staff was 157.5. Might end up being the difference between 2nd and 3rd, but clearly wasnโt gonna be enough to catch Henry
