Fred I can’t believe you traded for Freddie! That guy is gonna tear your team apart. At least according to the local fans. Seriously I’ve never seen someone (maybe LeBron?) go from hero/saint who can do no wrong to the opposite faster than this. He’s become so unpopular here that I’ve started telling people I named my dog after you not him.

Hook became the new whole foods in town

Thanks for the sudden deluge of offers. I am working through them. You should hear from me soon.
-
I have received 4 or 5 fair trade offers is SPs for bats. Which is what I need. Turns out I might just can’t bring myself to trade a good bat for something destined to break

I hear you henry, draft gets fast and hectic at the end
-
Cutch went for $5 to WRGB+. I nominated him at $1 as a time-killer while I figured out how to fill out my RPs.
-
I learned lessons too Henry, keep more cut less
-
I was hoping for more 2 buck chuck deals, only rp could be had for that .
-
Draft got so thin I was happy to get Villar !
-
What did mccutchen end up.going for ? I thought I'd steal him late ( Jeremy got for 1$ in FCA ) , but I couldn't go over 4$ . he hit 2 hr on 2 pitches off flexan yesterday and looks to be getting 450 to 500 plate apprearences according to brewers announcers
-
Same lesson every year. Don't sit early, thinking the last good guy will be cheap.
-
What hurts is when all 3 of you are sitting on the nomination, thinking you'll sneak him by at the end. At that point you've got 3 owners all targeting the same dude, with any other reasonable options long since auctioned.
-
I feel super boring. Last night I just had a couple of cans of guinness. Its a good session beer.
-
Fred, the worst case scenario at draft day is 3 owners thinking "Im gonna grab this guy for $X" and then bidding each other up. I was also in on Adell in single digits. I think those sleeper picks can often siphon cash away more than we plan for.
-
Yeah but the calc thinks Moustakas/Yandy platoon at 3b is a $14 value. I dont, LOL. There are certainly some holes on the wRBG squad.
-
Henry, in this league the Calc likes wRGB+ (by a lot), Heels, VB, Idaho, S of the G, and you. It’s hard to make up the difference in this league (if I could add Freeman and DeGrom, while not giving anything of value back to John, and somehow fitting in the loan, I’d be very slightly ahead of Kevin) so here’s hoping it’s quite wrong.
-
I'm.predicting break out for Adell, but thought he would cost more like 8 or 9 . I forget who bid 14 on him before I landed him
-
I did enjoy the Hammer, I thought it was great. Thanks!
-
(And maybe I wouldn’t have mentioned Adell if you didn’t first bring up other peoples’ decisions.)
-
Did you enjoy the Cashmere Hammer ?
-
I haven't used the calc in a couple of seasons, but I'm curious about it's rankings.
-
You know I didn’t say I disliked your team, and I balanced Adell with one of my own foolish decisions (that happens to be the same $$, and almost rhymes), right? Because I can be more blunt: it’s usually a waste of effort to go looking for structural explanations before first excluding poor individual decision-making.
-
Pat couldnt waste an opportunity to get two rips in..lol Newsflash, i hate my team nore than calc and hated my draft . Spoke with four others who were not exactly enamored with their drafts either.
-
Not sure I get the big picture here. Calc thinks we overall (but not Fred—it really dislikes your team) spent our salary $$ a little more efficiently here compared to FCA. Spread between most and least efficient teams is also a little narrower in this league. Merri and Muncy the same salaries in both leagues. Sure, questionable anecdotes in both leagues, but the $15 Adell here is matched by my $15 Doval in FCA.
-
I do think that year of skipped arbitration had a big impact in FCA. I thought it would normalize after the 2021 season, but there are definitely a number of great young players that take a few years to get pushed to their proper value.
-
I thought Merrifield would be a sub-$5 player. His secret power is that he bats at the top of the Royals lineup but his baseline stats are close to replacement.
-
Also , seems like a few positions were scarce . I had to over pay for moncada, and a few others . muncy and merrifield shocked me during the bidding, first instance.
-
I was scratching my head after looking at everyone's rosters and prices on guys. Wondering why we seem to had better trams in FCA . I think , at least for me, it was that one year of arbitration we skipped in that league .
-
Speaking of the NCAA tournament, in my annual ESPN bracket I came out of the first round in the 100% group. I think the Peacocks win was the only game I missed. I'm now at 37% and have no teams left still playing. Says something about how hard it is to pick this thing.
-
If AR-Kansas can take care of the Dookies tonight and send K to an early grave, I’m renaming every team I have after the Razorbacks

Thankfully the game will be over before we start. If it was simultaneous it would’ve been terribly difficult

Nah, we’d have missed the Peacocks game—and the prospect of Hitch rage-drafting Sunday night if they somehow beat Carolina….
-
Agreed, would be fun
-
We should have had the draft tonight…
-
Is it to early to start hating my team?
-
Okay, I"m moving it back to March 27th at 8:30pm edt.
-
I guess I should thank the oligarchs for figuring out how to keep the draft out of February.
-
Sourpuss gray cloud Pat can have a March draft and like it
-
This is all subject to change I'm sure, but what I am hearing is that free agents might be signing as early as tonight, camps open tomorrow, spring training games could start next weekend, and Opening Day on April 7. Game on!
-
Might want to keep March 27 open.
-
This draft is now set for April 7th, 9:00 edt. April 23rd, 9:00pm edt. Is our next backup date.
-
If Saturday April 23 at 9:00pm eastern is a problem for anyone, please speak up now
-
My mistake, when I did the math I thought opening day would be pushed to the 8th. I guess we'll stick with our current draft date until they cancel the next group of games (maybe next week?). Once that happens I'll reset the draft date for April 7th; however, our available dates from the 7th until the 24th are pretty limited, so let's also lock down Saturday April 23 at 9:00pm eastern as a potential fallback date.
-
Wil Myers hit two HR on opening day and his price jumps $10. LOL
-
After the cancellations, April 7 is the opener for half the league.
-
Fine by me, but there are games still on the schedule for April 7.
-
Seems reasonable to me. F'ing MLB owners.
-
I’m thinking it’s time to officially shift to our second draft date, April 7th, and secure a third. Does anyone have a strong opinion on it?
-
Better make sure to keep Thursday April 7th at 9:00 pm eastern available. It looks like we may need it.
