Analysis: Baltimore designated Martin for assignment Sunday, and he elected free agency. However, he'll remain with the Orioles after signing a one-year deal. Martin threw 1.1 scoreless innings in his only big-league appearance this season and logged a 5.29 ERA in 32.1 innings at Triple-A Norfolk.
