Analysis: Bowden appeared in 11 games after being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on July 23. The 30-year-old will require a stint on the injured list with a lat strain, opening up a spot in the bullpen for Eduarniel Nunez. Bowden has a 4.22 ERA in 10.2 innings with the A's.
