Maybe it's not a loophole. What if it's intentional? Wonder what Niv would say.
-
That is a site wide loop hole not a league loop hole. Nothing we can do about it.

but we do need to get rid of that loophole where you keep cutting, signing, cutting and signing a guy just to get his contract money due lower.
-
that said, being in several leagues actually helps find free agent gems. one guy in a league puts a player up for auction and you research him a little. then YOU put in for him in any league youre in which hasnt discovered that player. worked in gdr and im sure it works here too. if you want to be competitive with monkeys and shoopy, you gotta put the work in that they do.
-
this yr has been difficult. im in akron and my oldest moved his family to las vegas. hell teach at unlv. my youngest son is in the nat guard thru bgsu and is deploying to the middle east, so i havent been paying as close attention as i should be. i do my lineups but have missed many free agents i normally would have been in on.

Bully for them for getting deals done. I know I have made many many offers and have only gotten a handful of deals completed. If no collusion is going on and there certainly is not, then so be it. We just have to get better is all.

I think this league is increasingly competitive, and it’s a lot more fun with everyone active. Admittedly I’m not super optimistic about my team’s long-term prospects, but I guess that is the nature of trying to win now. As for trading, I’m very active in all of my leagues and try to trade with everyone. It’s a big part of what makes this fun for me. In fact I’m still open to making trades if anyone is interested.
-
It has felt at times this season that its a 2 team arms race between Shoopy & Monkeys but that's a credit to both of them for their drafts and managing their rosters. They both also have done great jobs at filling roster spots with free agent players other teams have ultimately wanted. I'll take my chances with a league with more active owners who trade & make moves than a league where there are only a couple of trade partner options and some teams only make a handful of moves th

Some poor team walks into it every week then chomp, chomp, chomp, by Sunday night that team is in the belly of the beast.

Man I want to see what a shoopy death trap looks like lol

It seems that too many teams just donate to Monkeys and Shoopy. Am I overreacting?
-
Anything can happen in playoffs! Just have to get in. Red division and the Wild Card are open for the taking.
-
True, but they let us use the slide and the sandbox, just not the brass monkey bars or the shoopy death trap. And Otto is actually ahead of the Monkeys right now so there's hope.
-
Anyone else think?

This league is just a playground for Monkeys and Shoopy.

Turns out...there is a rule...its 9 starts total for this extended week. Plan accordingly.

It certainly wont be 18 starts with only essentially 3 days of games added on to a normal weeks schedule. I dont see them adding any starts for just that. It will be 9 starts and everyone simply needs to plan them out.IMEO

Mine says 9 (max) as well. The question is whether its going to reset after Sunday, July 14. Obviously, whether that is going to occur or not affects how a team would distribute its 9 (or 18) possible starts.

Good question. My page shows 9 start max, so I’m going with that until I see otherwise. Maybe ask the online discussion page?
-
A quick question...according to the Schedule page, we have a "10 day" week + 1 game on July 11 coming up. Does the 9 SP starts/week apply to the extended week (i.e. all 10 days + 1 game on July 11 or does it reset on July 15? I'm guessing its the former but wanted to check to be sure. Thanks in advance.

Best/lucky trade was Margot for soto before he came up last year. Worst trade at the time was mikolas for Hanley last year. Right before Hanley was released and mikolas ended up a top 12 pitcher.
-
My best was monkeys worst, but what made it better for me was getting Klubot back for half the price!
-
Love the discussion. My best trade was getting Glasnow, Adell, Gore and Bauers for Bryant. Flipped Gore for Muncy and Glasnow was key to getting Buehler. Worst trade was Brantley and Mikolas for cap space as Kluber got broken later that night; ugh.
-
My worst trade is a run away. None others even close. While Cal Quantrill has shown some good stuff so far and I believe he is a year away from having a good career I really screwed up trading Peter Alonso for him. I truly thought Alonso was going to come back to Earth this season but not only did he not he went into the next stratosphere. 30 bombs in his rook season. Damn, I fucked up on this one.

Since we have some time I wanted to see if we could get some discussion going here. Was thinking we all could let the rest of us know what you feel are your best & worst trades to date in this league. I was considering to be my best trade for Mike Soroka & his $3 contract for simply $10 cap space or me getting Austin Riley for Chad Green straight up but my #1 best trade has not come to total fruition just yet. I got David Dahl, Luis Urias, Mitch Keller & Austin Hayes for

Saw that. I was going to write that and also about my miserable week losing to a team I was outscoring over the year by 1500 points. Yikes.

My turn this week, Smell. Putting up 823 only got me a 100 point loss. Tough league.

Yes, very sad. I drafted him in GDR as a prospect and had him ever since.

Totally agree. I wish you all the best for your health. Keep getting better and stay strong!

Damn, man. When I noticed you had not been on I asked around but no one seemed to know what was going on but we were aware of your health issues and were hoping for the best for you. Really glad to hear you are doing better and getting better all the time. Keep it up. Best wishes!

FYI note on cap penalties: For any player that you have dropped and incurred a cap penalty, after 30 days you can re-nominate that player. If you win them again, you can cut them, and only incur a cap penalty of half of the new price. For example, if you cut an $8 player, you have a $4 cap penalty. 30 days later, you can nominate that guy, and if you win him for $4, you can immediately cut him and now have just a $2 cap penalty. You can do this again 30 days later to get to $1 penalty.
