It's based on which disabled list the player's team has him on. They won't move him to the 60 day list until they need his spot on the 40 man roster.

LMAO. Fuck. I put a claim in on Lewis Brinson thinking it was for another Ottoneu league and it lead to a sequence of events where I cut like a quarter of my team... ultimately including Brinson. Lesson learned: always double check what league screen you're in.
