• My history is a bit off. We drafted in 2011 so that was two years after the Derrek Lee resurgence. Shep was mocked for drafting Daniel and wanting Derrek. The draft was paused while Luke removed Daniel from his roster and Shep didn't even end up getting Derrek Lee for $1. I think someone comedically bid him up to $2 and got stuck with him. This was hours after Shep had spent all his money at the draft and just stopped paying attention and then thought he was pulling a fast one.

• It's the Daniel Lee joke. In our inaugural draft in 2010 Shep thought he was pulling a fast one by securing Derrek Lee, who was coming off of a career resurgence in 2009, for $1. He instead drafted Daniel Lee who as best I can tell hit .000 on one season at Pepperdine. He was so obscure, FanGraphs & BaseballReference have deleted him from existence. I found him on LinkedIn once and asked him to make a video mocking Shep for drafting him as he never made it to Low A. Never heard back

• I think we draft on the 26th. You should be able to approximate a guys playing time on a new team so the only big difference would be park factors and there's really no lukehole in park factors. I'm fine with punting it but we have a date everyone can do it, which is a hard thing to figure out, why not just keep it that date?

• I’m nervous that this lock out is going to be a very long one. Pro to delaying is better information when players are signed etc and so forth. Potential negative is that hershey in the summer is obnoxious and I would fear potential costs of space rental to go up. But I don’t know as that’s a true thing or not. I’m fine with whatever we do. I have the itch to auction and Tahoe it up but at the same time it’s better to auction when player movement is mostly done and over with.

• Giolito was a tough call, IMO. At $32, he's got to be a Top 10-15 SP? He was actually 4th (or 5th) on PIP out of my starting staff - and I'm paying them all under half of his cost. I think he has that potential, but he's homer prone ever more than most. Felt like the time to cut loose. Was hoping some people loaded him up in Arbitration. The fact that not $1 was used on him told me all I needed to know. But, close, I agree. #Amy
