Make Horton Commish with you if he wants to handle it.
-
That was some really bad form. Whoever is the new commish now should re-add those players that were cut and give the next owner the opportunity to make those decisions. Once that's all squared away, let's get aggressive trying to get a new owner. I'll share on Twitter and in Discords I'm in.
-
Thanks for making me commissioner . Even though horton said he would do it . So based on the way you handled this . You deserved to be called names like asshole . You should be banned from leagues until you can act like an adult . Generous carriage called it . So let’s not pretend this was sudden
-
Agreed. Could have been done much better.

And just to be clear . No one called you a name . Dropping out the day after cutting players was a dick move . Could have handled it better . Goodluck
-
You don't owe an explanation, but if you had apologized or seemed remorseful in your initial post, I don't think anyone would've resorted to name-calling. But all you did was say you're leaving 3.5 months into a 4 month offseason so we reacted to the information we had. It's just very inconvenient to the rest of us so it's frustrating - I'm sorry that you have to leave this league.
-
thanks for the name calling, really sad that this is the league we are dropping out of now. I didn't want or need to write an essay about why we are not doing the league but we have our own personal reasons. Good luck guys.
-
Big-time dick move. Absolutely unbelievable. Assign it to me for now and we can figure it out later.
-
Thanks for a weeks notice . And you cut players the day before ? What a dick move .
-
I think that looked like the most likely outcome to anyone who was paying attention to the trades you guys were making in August. Would have been nice to have had the last 3.5 months of offseason to find a replacement. Hopefully we’ll get someone before 1/31.
-
Hi guys, we are going to be dropping out of the league. Does anybody want to take over as commissioner? If I don’t hear from someone by tomorrow I will assign it to one of you and leave so somebody else can take over our team in time to make moves before the cut deadline.
-
I think that is just the default draft time for all leagues. Usually have a survey that goes out to help identify the best time (later in the spring) that works for everyone

If you're gonna cut someone, send me a message first. Maybe I'll give you something for them 😉
-
I don’t have a preference either way. Would probably lean towards whatever the default setting is but good with either option

I agree 24 hours
-
and it HAS to bee done offseason.
-
I agree also, it should be 24hrs
-
That has been asked every season since I've been in the league and inevitably someone always has a reason why we shouldn't do it or why we should wait until the regular season starts (although we tried that one year and then found it was too late to change it). My view is the same as before, it should be 24 hrs.
-
Can we move the trade wait period to 24 hours?
-
hey guys last day to do arbitration, if you haven't already please get it done! thanks

one more week to do arbitration guys, if you haven't already please do! thanks
-
Still waiting on 6 teams to get arbitration in! Please try to get it in early because you can always make changes and having more information on where others are putting their money helps make those decisions! Thanks!
-
hey guys, heads up, arbitration is open, it closes on November 14th. please allocate your budgets when you get a chance. reminder you have to allocate at least $1 to every team. lmk if you have any questions
-
congrats to the winners.
-
Thanks, GC! Congrats to you & Huevos on your top-3 finishes. It was a fun season playing with everyone! And special thanks to Bobby Witt Jr., he's pretty good.

Congrats to JV Baseball on repeating as champ, this time in completely dominating fashion! The bar has been set very high but I’m looking forward to running it back next year. Good season all.

If your offer was sent at 6:47 last night then my apologies with the delay on the acceptance.

Gents. We went back and forth as I countered w Burnes. He rejected. Then he sent an offer that included Burnes and I accepted right away w/out any idea about Cole. I agreed to reverse the trade because it was the right thing to do as the optics are bad if the news was out for a long time. I was at work this morning when I accepted. Sorry for the chaos.

if the trade was accepted last night and was pending while the news broke i wouldn't veto it.
-
Although I guess I don’t love the “unless both managers agree to cancel” in scenario 3, because I don’t think there should even be a suggestion that the owner who traded away the player who subsequently got injured should agree to cancel. To me, once the trade is agreed, an injury to one of the players I’m acquiring is just bad injury luck that’s no different than if any other guy on my roster gets injured. I shouldn’t be asking the other manager to reverse the deal. Ok I will stop posting now!
-
agree
for clarity, we sent our offer at 630pm last night. trade was accepted at 1147 am this morning after the cole news broke. this is visible in the trade history
-
I agree with that
-
To put my views clearly, I think there's 3 scenarios that occur.
1. I offer you Player A. Player A is hurt and news of that exists. You accept. You then learn about the injury. Trade should not be canceled. Do due diligence first.
2. I offer you a trade for Player A. Player A then gets hurt. You then accept. Trade should be canceled unless I'm ok with it still.
3. I offer you Player A. Trade is accepted. Player A gets hurt. Trade is fine unless both managers agree to cancel. <
-
Sorry, just re-reading - you’re saying it’s a risk you run if both sides agree to a trade and then injury news breaks after the deal is made. I agree with that part. There shouldn’t be a veto/reversal in those situations.
-
On the other hand, if you as an acquiring owner click accept on a deal for an injured guy, and that injury news is already out, I generally think that’s on you (although I’d still be fine with a deal being canceled if both sides agreed). You should always check the news on any player you’re acquiring as standard diligence before clicking accept.
