Happy Monday - may the upcoming real life trade deadline help make your week entertaining. For our Ottoneu universe, Paul Goldschmidt is now available. Send your best offers :)
-
I updated my lineup and chose a more accurate team name :) stop bitching now
-
Yelich Bin Ein Marliner🎣 's trade block has been updated!
-
We may be in 5th, but this is shaping up to be the most exciting finish we've ever had.
-
Which is funny because the only reason we're in 5th is that the Commerce Comets are sucking it up, and Will is in the Champions' League!!!
-
You guys, we've fallen off our throne🏆! We are in 5th in the league power rankings! 😱
-
Challenge accepted. The caution symbol seemed fitting, since I'm a pain in the ass to trade with.
-
You can edit your team name on mobile and add emoji, guys. Let your creativity run wild.

Certainly a weaker year for the top draft prospects compared to the last 4
-
Stages of #1 Draft Pick showing up on auction list. 1) Impulsively Bid 2) Question if you have roster spot if you win bid. 3) Read 4 scouting reports and try to find overlapping agreements. 4) Argue with self on how Dansby Swanson doesn't sound as much like Dabney Coleman as you keep telling yourself. 5) Find tweets from draft days from 4/5 industry professionals you follow. 6) Wonder if by the time he's ready, if you'll want to pay for him. 7) Remove bid for 2017's SS eligible Brett Lawrie

UGH NO BASEBALL IS THE WORST
-
I'll go back and figure out the number of allstars per team, but I real quick want to point out that the Emanski AllStars feature the AL's ASG starting 3,4,5,6 and 9 hitters.
-
Anibal Collective's trade block has been updated!
-
Max Scherzer leads all players at the break with 868 points. No pitcher has broken 1500 points in a season since Randy Johnson in 2004.
-
If anyone is interested in a $3 Grilli next year and wants to send me some overpriced player they don't intend to keep, let's talk.

Yelich Bin Ein Marliner's trade block has been updated!
-
Remember when I won the auction for Miguel Sano in 2011?
-
As someone who owns Matz in 3 leagues, I feel you.
-
In lieu of Carlos Martinez making the All-Star game, I'd like to commemorate the occasion by reminding everyone of that one time I drafted Carlos Martinez: http://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/90/playercard?id=2068
-
I was reading a blog a few days ago that was jokingly saying not to worry about Steven Matz because he's already had TJ surgery, so it's not like he can pull a Wheeler or a Harvey... and of course now he's out 3-4 weeks with a lat tear. Mets.
-
Thanks for putting those charts together! Those numbers certainly do map onto team success pretty well (although, as Kris points out, they don't even begin to tell the story of Robinson Cano).
-
How do our contracts compare to the value the players are actually putting up? Thinking of the $44 Cano versus his production, or a $1 Buchholz. I think our league has lower priced top end guys than most leagues and higher prospect prices than most.
-
Take a look at all of the plots here: http://imgur.com/a/fIVGN
-
Unsurprisingly, Yelich has managed to pack the most "value" into his team with the sum of his contracts' averages totaling $459.12
-
I had some extra time today, so I sat down and plotted out how all of our players' salaries compare to the universe averages (just the leagues using Ottoneu points). To save everyone the time scanning, the cheapest contract compared to the average is Giancarlo Stanton at $11.25 under, and the most expensive is Jay Bruce at $9.55 over.

Drew Hutchinson 2015 = Tom Milone 2014
-
P.S. - I'll be dropping Matt Adams at some point. Be sure to pick him up, he'll be the next 900pt. 1B
-
That Chris Sale, have you seen his delivery? He's headed for arms problems. A bust I tell ya! Just like Paul Goldscmidt, Anthony Rizzo, and Eric Hosmer FML and 1st basemen.
-
You also sent me AJ pollock, who I cut for some dumb reason.
-
Anyone remember when I traded the insanely affordable Chris Sale for Jon Singleton + pieces? I do.
-
Getting ahead of batters in 21 out of 25 at bats? Yeah I'll take that and the strikeout per inning.
-
That's the Jose Fernandez & Matt Cain I expected to show up.
-
Anibal Collective's trade block has been updated!
-
That's the contract I always dream of having.
-
Happy Bobby Bonilla Day everyone!
-
I hate that Chris Sale's knack for strikeouts allows Hawk to say "he gawn!" more frequently.
-
I've accidentally vetoed a couple of my own trades through use of my phone
-
That veto might have been me -- I always auto-approve trades, but I accidentally clicked veto on my phone for one recently. I figured it wouldn't matter because we've never had a trade even come close to getting vetoed (I think).
-
curious what the justification is for the veto vote on that last trade. as a guy who would like to have cutch and felix and didn't get them i don't like it much either but it didn't strike me as unreasonable.
-
Meanwhile, Robinson Cano was hit in the head by an errant throw between innings. The silver lining is that my offensive production is likely to go up as long as he's sidelined.
-
Christian Yelich just lost a Justin Turner fly ball in the lights and I got a hit out of it. Great team play, guys!
