We have filled the vacancy for the owner of Peyton's Graceland and are back to 12 active owners!
-
Another update: For ease of prospective new owners, you'll notice I just reversed the previous cuts Peyton's Graceland made.
-
Two updates: 1) 9 out of 11 owners filled out the survey so far. 7 out of 9 voted to have the order of the draft be in the reverse order of this season's standings and 8 out of 9 voted to have the minor league draft before the auction draft. These are already majorities so that's the way we will do things.
2) I made an owner's wanted post regarding peyton's graceland. If you know anyone who might want to take over that would be great too!
-
I guess I assumed the minor league draft had to be live like the auction, but I guess there’s no reason for that. So yeah I’m fine with it being slow so long as it’s after.

and *hell yes* on the slow draft
-
Survey complete
-
Voted! Also super on board for the slow draft. Will there be a list of players like in the MLB draft?
-
Agreed on the slow draft!
-
A case could be made for both options regarding timing of the draft but PLEASE let’s do a slow draft
-
As far as swaying goes, I think the minor league draft needs to be after the regular auction. You can still draft minor leaguers in the auction, and deciding whether you want to use a 40 man spot and have the chance to overpay for their services instead of risking them getting taken in the minor league draft is an interesting strategic wrinkle.

The minor league draft can take place over many days, giving owners like 12 hours or so to make their pick and just announcing their pick on the draft board. There's no reason to force everyone to be at their screen at the same time since scheduling a draft is hard enough.
-
Well presumably we would do both drafts live, so we’d want to do them at the same time.

Well, holding the MiLB draft before the auction will give us something to do between keeper deadline and auction...ha

I’m legit torn on this vote. Sway me! Haha

Voted! Thanks!

Meanwhile, I sent Peyton's Graceland an email 3 days ago about their participation in this league and have received no response. It seems we should start looking for a replacement owner. If anyone has someone in mind feel free to reach out to them. I'll make an owners wanted post in a few days if we don't have a replacement by then. You should also mention that the next owner would be able to take back any of the cuts that were made by the previous owner after the end of the season.
-
This is also something the league should discuss. Having the draft before the auction draft would help focus more dollars towards major league talent (I will use this an opportunity to remind owners of rule 1a which requires a complete starting lineup of major leaguers). On the other hand, it allows owners to acquire prospects for $0 that other owners may have otherwise spent money on. I'll set up a poll on both of these questions.
-
I’m not sure why we would use a different order for the minor league draft than we do for the regular one. Also, does it take place immediately before or after the regular draft?

Inside=Undue thx autocorrect
-
Totally biased reply, it should be done with a RL format. Teams are at differing places in their developmental cycle, and a snake defat feels a little bit like an anti-tanking measurement. Perhaps that could be discussed for future years, but it seems a little bit like an inside punishment in this circumstance.
-
Good question: we could do that or just a randomized snake draft. What do people think?
-
Minor league draft: what will the order of the snake draft be? Similar to the real draft where last place drafts first?
-
Looks like Peyton's Graceland has been MIA for a while.
-
Black Friday Sale anyone? I've got some good discounts available.
-
If any wants to try to work out a blockbuster trade I would be willing to consider moving Mike Trout among some other absolute studs on my team.
-
Update: I have changed the charter to say that owners must log in every two weeks. There should be some guidelines regarding the MiLB draft soon, I am just trying to iron out all of the details first. One last thing: Just a reminder that ottoneu rule 1a requires owners have enough major league talent to fill out an entire starting roster (including 5 SP and RP). This means you can roster at most 18 minor leaguers. Something to keep in mind come the cut deadline!
-
Let’s talk trades! I have starting pitching and could use an outfielder and a middle infielder
-
Once a player on a MiLB roster appears in a big league game they will be added to that owners roster for $1. If this puts that owner over roster/salary limits of course they would need to make cuts to remedy this.
-
Question about the minor league roster - when a MILB player is called up to Major League, will he be added to your EWF roster and at what price?
-
I'm okay with 2 weeks.
-
I'm fine with 2 weeks.
-
Yeah, voted for one but good with two weeks
-
I’m down for gradualism of just calling it for a 2 week login requirement, though I voted for one. Worth it to see how that goes on its own and reassess after.

I was one of those that voted for the price increase, mainly for the added prize money at the end, but also to keep people engaged all season. If there were money on the line and it cost a little extra, I feel like people would log on more often too, whether that's every week or every two weeks. I'd be on board for a vote on which the league would prefer so we can have a hard deadline before the season.
-
There are two ways to handle this: We can hold another poll on only these two options, or in the interest of gradual change we could just agree to make the rule change to two weeks; let me know your thoughts on this. That's all I have for now; thanks so much for setting your arbitration dollars so quickly, I'm already looking forward to next year!
-
4 owners expressed an interest in keeping the league price at $20 and since I do not want to have to find four owners for this league, I think we should keep the price as is (but feel free to discuss this!). Also, 8 owners expressed interest in changing the rule in our charter requiring more active participation. They were split however on the new time frame: 5 voted for requiring owners to log in every 2 weeks and 3 voted for every week.
-
Hi everyone, happy actual baseball offeseason. I wanted to report the results of our offseason survey. By an 11-1 vote, the new rule regarding auctions for players who were recently cut has been added to the charter. By a 9-3 vote we have also voted to change the trade wait period to 24 hours. Also, by a 9-3 vote the league has decided to implement the $0, 5 minor league player roster. We will have a snake draft for this roster immediately following the auction draft.
-
Ahhh man. One could hope lol
-
No it just means we have until Nov 14th to reassess our arbitration allocations in light of other folks' before those allocations lock

Sooooo, if everyone gets their money in for Arbitration before the actual end date of November 14, does that mean we can start trading earlier? :)
-
Yoooooooo....people. Set your arb numbers. That s all.
-
Also I've just added our new owner for Peyton's Graceland and once they complete the survey we will discuss its results. Arbitration also starts today so be sure to get in your allocations by Nov. 14. As it states in the charter any failure to allocate would lead to the league voting on whether or not to replace the owner.
-
Heads up: I am in another league which is just as active as this one, same setup, and players at the $50 buyin level. League number 760 and we are looking for a new owner for the team Dark Matter. Head over to the league page to take a look at the team if you'd think you'd be interested in picking up another team. Just shoot me a message if you want to take over the team. Here's the league page: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/760/home
-
Quick update: Peyton's Graceland was the only owner not to complete the survey and they have decided not to return for next season. The Lindbergh Burrito Method informed me he might know someone to take over the team. We will discuss the result of the survey once we find a replacement owner. In the meantime feel free to reach out to find a potential replacement owner if TLBM's friend decides not to take over the team.
-
Pretty sure 60 IL clears after the World Series
-
Not 100% sure, but I think they will have to be added to 40-man rosters in November before the Rule 5 draft deadline.
-
Hey does anyone know if players currently on the 60-day IL will keep that status over the off-season and into the draft?
