Good to know. Thanks Banter!
-
Shane McClanahan has zero service time, so I’d agree he shouldn’t be put on your roster.
Also, in today’s Squirrel-Burrito trade, I notice that Lindor was traded for Andres Gimenez *yet again*

Yeah I figured it would fall into that category. Would be curious to know if a player’s service time starts when they do enter in the postseason.
-
Excellent question. I'm inclined to say no because postseason stats don't show up in the record book so any player who has only seen postseason time will look like a MiLB available player when any of us look them up on fangraphs, baseball-ref, or whatever site you use. Seems like quite the hassle to have to check if players have any postseason stats as well. If anyone thinks otherwise please chime in!
-
Thanks commish. mcClanahan made the postseason roster for Rays. Does that count?
-
i believe that spreadsheet is up to date but please do check if any of the players on your roster received mlb playing time this year. if so they should be promoted to your actual roster and removed from the MiLB roster.

Would you mind posting the link to access the MiLB rosters again?
-
Glad we could all agree on this. Just an fyi you should post any cuts you make from your minor league roster here on the league message board and then I will edit the league spreadsheet. I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone again that how many players you cut determines how many players you can draft in the next MiLB draft. Each team can only draft until their MiLB roster reaches 5 players so if you enter the draft with 2 players still on your MiLB roster you can only draft 3 players.
-
Jan 31 is fine with me also. Thanks.
-
Yeah think 1/31 makes the most sense
-
I'm fine with it being on January 31
-
Happy New Year everyone! Ben's Banter raised an interesting question about cutting MiLB roster guys. Just as a reminder, when the MiLB draft comes around, each owner will only be allowed to draft players until they hit 5 MiLB players (so if you have 5 and don't cut anyone, you won't be able to participate). The natural question we need to ask then is what is the deadline to cut MiLB players. I think making it Jan. 31st as well makes the most sense but I am open to listening to other ideas.

Bellinger is 25!
-
The future is now, old man. :)
-
Should I change my name to Bellyball just to mess with everyone?
-
Looks like the team formerly known as "BellyBall" is pretty confident this trade is going through. It's the Wander Franco era now!

ahahahahahahaha, i have no intention on breaking the NDA i signed with them, even if it won't take effect til i actually join the team.
-
Is that in relation to the league or as a Brewers representative. Cuz I’ll go on Twitter and say sources tell me Milwaukee is trying to move Yelich :)
-
Looking at my financials for 2021, I am pretty determined to move Yelich this offseason. Feel free to message me/send offers my way.
-
ahahahahaha, as a Mets fan all i could do was crack up at the suspension. what a miserable miserable trade that will end up being—and I still very much believe in Edwin Diaz.
-
When Phil got word of Robbie Cano's suspension for PEDs today, he blew his stack, stormed into my office, red-faced, screaming "He's gotta go!!!" I was ahead of him for once but it still took him a while to cool off.
-
Let's get some trading going!
-
Yeah...my bad. This month (work wise) has been insane.
-
right so i did notice this after submitting my earlier post, silk robes and kimonos arbitration was just invalidated because they forgot to give at least a dollar to every team. no worries here, these things happen.
-
Thing is, I thought I had properly submitted my arb figures. This explains why I'm not an accountant...
-
Rather keep the league intact, if the two teams who missed arb are planning on being active
-
Other than that small point of order, salaries are now set for 2021 after arbitration which means you can start trading again. Happy offseason to everyone and I hope you are all staying healthy!
-
Right so two owners did not arbitrate, which by the league charter means the league could decide to vote on removing these owners if we wanted to. I have heard from Silk Robes and Kimonos saying he would still like to participate for the upcoming season and BALCO has just posted here. I personally do not want to go looking for two replacement owners when both owners seem to have not abandoned their teams but the league gets to decide on this as a whole so I just thought I'd bring it up.
-
Sorry I forgot to participate in Arbitration. I've been working 60-70 hour weeks and it totally slipped my mind. Apologies!
-
Welcome to the league Joe. I play in a Yahoo league with the dad and brother, and it's the most fun when doing so. The competition makes it better than any other league. Here's to some good "Banter"
-
Also, Ohtani, Altuve and Rizzo are on the block
-
Looking forward to making trades again and moving all my meh pieces for perennial MVP candidates.
-
Welcome to the league! I have also played in Ottoneu with my dad in leagues and know that zero nepotism usually happens because there is usually more desire to beat them then anyone else!
-
Also, just so you all know, Phil Roof All Stars, AKA Joe, is, in addition to being a formerly light-hitting backstop, my dad. He's also an Effectively Wild fan, so his inclusion is not strictly nepotistic. Despite our genetic bond, I am committed to defeating his team in order to gain bragging rights at holidays.

Hi again. I just changed the name of "Giancarlo's Hit Men" to "Phil Roof All Stars". Who is Phil Roof? He was my boyhood hero, a journeyman catcher from 1965 to 1977, with a career WAR of 4.9. Like me at the time, he was a poor-hitting, good-fielding backstop and has remained a reminder to me of the grit it takes to play MLB. Plus, "Phil" is easier to spell than "Giancarlo". I'll complete arbitration in a couple of days.. thanks to all of you who
-
Hey all...I'm the new owner for Giancarlo's Hit Men. Got set up over the weekend and want be bet ready for the arbitration deadline approaching. I'll also likely change the team name but that's for later. Thanks for having me
-
Also if any owners would like to propose any rule changes for the upcoming season, now would be the time to do so! The league will of course vote on any potential rule changes. That's all I have for now, hoping everyone is staying sane and healthy!
-
I am still waiting to hear back from one owner on whether or not they will return, but otherwise it looks like the rest of us will be back for 2021. Just thought I'd mention again that I will likely be working in the Brewers Front Office this Summer and while this is not a for-money league, if enough owners have an issue with this, I am happy to step away from the team. I certainly don't think I will have any time to use Brewers data for this league, but just wanted to be transparent.
-
Hey everyone, with the election insanity calming down and me consequently catching up on a lot of lost sleep I am now ready to just give a few reminders: Please allocate your arbitration dollars by the deadline which is exactly a week from today. As the charter states, missing such a deadline could lead to the owners voting on removing this owner. Giancarlo's Hit Men will not be returning, but it seems Ben's Banter has already found a replacement owner for us, which I will set up tomorrow.
-
Definitely going to be back next year
-
Count me in for 2021. Proposal: update "Arbitration" settings to not include guys not at the big league level. Just a thought. Fine either way. Hate seeing guys not even play a single inning (MILB or MLB) this season get their prices driven up :)
-
I’ll be back!
-
I plan to return for 2021. Thanks.
-
Squirrels brings up an excellent point that I've been meaning to ask: please do let me know as soon as possible if you do not intend to return next year. Even better, let me know even if you do intend to return so I can get a headcount. Also of note: If you would like to propose any rule changes for the upcoming year, they should be proposed now during this arbitration period so the league can vote.
-
Is everyone planning on sticking around for next season? Would be good to replace teams before end of arbitration if anyone is planning on not coming back.
-
Thanks everyone, here's to an exciting offseason and a hopefully 162 game 2021. Just a heads up a few MiLB players were added to team's roster as a few players who I missed debuting towards the very end of the season.
-
Congrats, Eric! That 5.77 P/IP was filthy this year. Hope you all enjoy the playoffs!
-
Congrats Schroed! Maybe next year we will have a different top 3 placings, this was the exact same 1-3 as last year!
-
Congrats Eric. Good season.
