He didn’t. Just sayin’
-
Viva I seem to remember you having zero opinion other than "Epstein didn't kill himself" when Pratt held 5000 players last season.
-
Cheese. Please cut 2 players ASAP. You’ve been over the roster limit since 3/24. Thanks!
-
I don’t have authority to arbitrarily make changes. Trying to offer options to league. Happy to keep as is
-
I'll agree with that as well
-
I'm with Malibu, zero interest in changing pay structure or arbitration.
-
Flat out not interested in anything like that.
It’s a good thing I’ve already paid in. This shit is too much.
-
I think it might be tough to mess with the buyins. The most direct way to penalize tanking is to enforce some type of additional arbitration penalty. For example , 12-10th get +15$ arb , 9-7 get +5$ , arb, 6-4 get no arb penalty, 3-1 get no arb and prize $. Let me know if anyone is interested in this type of idea.
-
I don't want to churn the waters after things have died down (narrator: he churned the water anyway), but what if last pays $50 or $100 and it goes to 4th place finisher?
Would have to be done outside of Otto with like league safe or something so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ but that could disincentivize the "nothing" side of all or nothing. Just spitballing!
-
This is all too much to read and keep up with, but if at the end of this there has been some serious rule change, then I'm probably out next season.
-
I made that clogging suggestion over a year ago but Ottono does not allow you to do that. I like that idea as well though if we can make it work. I think my ceiling is a 4th place finish.

@clogging - that is a better solution I agree. The payout structure incentivizes all or nothing. How does league safe work and integrate into Ottoneu? Open to ideas
-
I’m astounded at the lack of understanding of how markets function put on full display with this “dialogue” (I use that term “dialogue” loosely).
As always, the ignorant speak the loudest
-
Offering to cap and trade to competitors - also obviously not was a colluder would do. Neither of these would be beneficial
-
6 vs 4 excluding myself and Pratt
-
I hope you've read enough of these comments to understand you are likely in the minority even if the vote shook out this way. lol
-
Rather than a hard cap I'd prefer to use LeagueSafe or some 3rd-party admin to adjust the payout system and dis-incentivize finishing toward the bottom. Right now there is no difference between finishing 4th and 12th and that sucks.
-
Given how the league voted, I hope you can realize you’re in a minority opinion and move forward competing. I’m also happy to further trade off talent to other teams👍
-
I don't think most of the league had an issue with the cap. I also don't think a cap solves what is being alleged here.
-
Im happy to start a hard cap next year as well. Obviously can't change rules post draft
-
I’m happy to enforce a rule around that going forward, if league votes for it, *even if it doesn’t benefit me as I’m in great shape for a 2022 huge salary*
-
Every team sells we just do it at different times. I 100% support a soft cap of 400 and a hard cap of 500 or 600. But I wont pretend it is for moral or ethical reasons or for league integrity. I just think it is more fun to try and go for it every year and would add parity. But it is totally understandable why someone would take the extreme sell all buy all approach. I just wont do it.

Both teams have embraced extreme selling and buying. Team Pratt for years now. It is obviously going to rotate year to year with one selling and one buying. I don't think this rises to collusion because this isn't a secret and both are very open about it. Team Pratt made it painfully clear how horrible my team was and my managerial style was before trading with Matt as he wanted to trade with me. I said no since I dont think it is fun not because I dont think it is the right strategy.

Well I still have a lot to sell. I’m happy to further sell to anyone. I’d also prefer to keep the league together, if we want a salary cap going forward we can put it to a vote
-
Good job.
-
Glad we’re on the same page. Feel free to post a trade and go through the data and see if we can find a case where I took a worse trade :)
-
Ah yes, it's my terrible trade offers that have caused you and pratt to swap farms since 2018.
-
Uh, again...lack of offers doesn't validate what you two are doing...
-
Ya, I think we've had a max veto total of maybe 2? It's very very hard to get a trade veto'd
-
If you offer equivalent trades and I always go Pratt sure, I get it. You offered my Royce Lewis (!! With no ACL) for Scherzer. What the fuck else move can I make? Your shitty offers caused this , not my collusion
-
Does anyone know how the veto works in practice? Ottoneu rules say "majority (50% + 1 vote)" which is a tall hurdle - would require a 7/10 supermajority of non-involved teams to oppose.
I'm not saying that's right course of action here, just asking. To anyone aggrieved by this trade I think your better course of action is to help me build a stronger team by accepting Paul Dejong for Aroldis Chapman and other similar moves.
-
That’s a very sensible statement, Just.

Matt, I don't really get how you can't see where we are coming from. You two have done these types of swaps with each other multiple times. It isn't coming out of nowhere.
-
I for one wish he wouldn’t of... then I wouldn’t be in this mess!!

Naw man lol, I love my team and had no interest in making a move. I've defended 100% of people against whining on trades historically because you really only veto for one reason, collusion. I am pretty sure I even defended you guys when JBY was going off about you guys running a 3rd team and working together. This is the ONLY time since this league started I will be vetoing a trade. It's the only time I genuinely feel there may be collusion and the only time I've mentioned it.
-
I think JBY probably had the right idea to ditch this league when he did....
-
The issue is you repainting yourself as a victim when you no trades or terrible trades and then bitch collusion when you don’t win a deal
-
I feel like you're trying to repaint the issue as one where the salary cap being inflated is the problem. That is not the issue. The issue is 2 teams working in tandem, that's the only thing being voted on in a veto. That's not a slippery slope at all for rebuilds moving forward. That's a lack of tolerating that specific practice between two teams moving forward. It takes a few years of trade history for any valid argument to be made. Not slippery.
-
You don’t like the strategy , which is entirely within the rules. If we want to put limits on selling in future in form of salary cap that’s fine. But just because you don’t offer to selling teams , doesn’t make rebuilders colluders
-
Pretty clear we agree, Inglorious. I just don’t know if vetoing trades is going to be successful and it really gets in to a gray area. If done once, it opens up a whole can of worms. Scrutinizing every trade going forward. Folks should be able to trade whoever they want to trade.
A cap would just limit the amount of buying a team can do in a given year. Even the playing field for those “going for it”. But no bottom cap, so you can sell as much as you want.

Ah yes, a full punt rebuild and compete next year - a strategy so bad it wins championships (Malibu) and you’re accusing us of collusion over!
-
The (poor) decision to sell this early isn't in question. Sell away. The oddly specific sort of deals that you exclusively make together despite wild variance of deals with all other players is what's in question. The stacking and loading of both a sell off/farm team and a full blown title run team annually is what's in question.
-
@Pitter if the league wants a salary cap long term we can vote on it. Not applicable to season already underway
-
Your trade block says sell and you made a trade that looks like a sell, while complaining about others that sell ... your credibility means dick.
-
We don't need a hard cap, we need to decide as a group if something is fishy with Matt and Pratt functioning as a tandem farm/pro team or not. If the trade history feels suspicious to you veto this trade, if it doesn't, no need. Let Matt toss in his $100 for free a month before a game is played. Let Pratt roleplay Aaron Boone all season.
-
No it doesn't... specifically says not 100%. Same reason why I still have all my SPs. And Matt, your personal valuations mean dick. I wanted Bohm. I got him.
-
And hey, maybe it’s all just a coincidence, and if so I honestly sincerely apologize.
Either way, I’d still like to discuss a hard cap though. If nobody wants it, that’s cool, just think it would help.

There is no plan that we will always trade with each other its so irresponsible to say that
