thank you
-
Gladden - I e-mailed you what you need to do for your friend to get a team. Here is a link to the new arbitration option: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/new-and-improved-ottoneu-arbitration-process/
-
Where is the new arb system? I need to reread it
-
I have one response already, a friend of mine who makes documentary films, writes about baseball in his free time, and runs his own fantasy league
-
I sent out a mass email to a lot of people who I thought would be interested in joining the league. Give me a week to hear back from people.
-
I think I like this years scoring. If one of your hitters can be robbed of pts by a great play or a ball hit right to someone, it seems only fair that pitcher could be robbed of points by the randomness of batted balls too.

Thanks Bedarded. What about the scoring system? Did you like this year's scoring? Or do you want to go back to our original SABR scoring?
-
I'll be out of town for the next two work weeks, but home for the weekend, so if I'm not responsive during that time, you know what's up. My vote is for the new arb system.
-
If anyone knows of someone that wants to take over a team, let me know and we can ask Niv to transfer ownership.
-
Alright guys. Niv added me as a commish. I am going to abandon the following teams: shoof, maybe, honey nut, patsies, rat, and Uggla.
-
Congrats, Heyward! That was a nice comeback. Eva, congrats to you too on doing so well after missing the draft.
-
Does anyone want to take over as commish? If not, I'll ask Niv to designate me as commish.
-
I don't have a real preference on the scoring. Over the course of the season, it's pretty immaterial and as long as everyone knows up front, I don't really care. I would assume to leave as is unless people want to switch.
-
Nice job Heyward! It seems people are in favor of the new arb system. Do we have thoughts on keeping current Linear Weights points, or reverting to old system? Whichever we choose, we should probably stick with it going forward to keep consistency.

I e-mailed everyone again yesterday. Hopefully they'll respond one way or another. Gladden - I know you said you have a potential owner. Anyone else?
-
That seems fine to me. You've been diligently trying to contact everyone for a while now. Unless someone was really gone for like a month plus on vacation and totally checked out, they should have been able to respond.
-
So we have 6 people confirmed for next year. I'm thinking about e-mailing the rest of the guys one last time and giving them until, say, Friday. What do you guys think?
-
Thanks Eva! You made me sweat until the very end! You deserve major props for building such a contender after missing the draft! Your squad will be super tough next year!
-
Congratulations to Heyward on his championship! It's official now because I've maxed out of games and innings - no more points for me. But watch out for me next year - I almost won this with a team that was $150 under the cap!
-
I agree Bedarded. I really don't want to abandon someone's team if they're planning on coming back. But we need active owners for arbitration. We've posted lots of messages here and I've sent multiple e-mails now...
-
It seems like if we want to include new people in arbitration, then we'd need to start ASAP.
-
The real challenge is upcoming arbitration. It won't really work unless people participate, but it ends in just one month, so getting new people in place and up to speed might be difficult.
-
It's hard to know. I don't want to cut someone out who's interested in returning, but then again, if we have someone lined up who will be more engaged, that's good, too.
-
Thanks Andre. Now we have 5 confirmed. For those that haven't responded, please let me/us know asap if you plan on returning. Thanks!
-
I will definitely be back...just been laying out and waiting until next year. Also, I'm in favor of trying the new arb system. Seems interesting.

Also, if I don't hear back from Rat or Patsies, we're going to need a new commish. I don't mind doing it, but am totally cool if one of you guys would rather do it.
-
I just e-mailed everyone again. Laser, Bedarded and Gladden, when do you think we should start abaondoning teams?
-
What do you guys think we should do with the absentee owners? I've e-mailed all of them and posted here. I think we can give them some time, and I'll e-mail again. But eventually, we're going to need to abandon some teams that don't respond.
-
Thanks Bedarded. I'm pretty much in agreement with you on the arbitration.
-
That said, it seems like it would require a more owners to be fully involved...but that's desirable anyways.
-
I'm flexible about the new arb option, but I'm inclined to support it over the old system. It seems more realistic and I like the opportunity to spread the increases over multiple undervalued assets instead of a single player.
-
Yeah, I'm in.
-
Also, for those that are coming back, we have an option to change the arbitration process. At some point, we'll need to vote and figure out what we want to do. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/index.php/new-and-improved-ottoneu-arbitration-process/
-
So we know Gladden, Midgets and I are all in. I'm assuming at least that Eva and Bedarded are also in, but I sent e-mails to them and the rest of the league asking if they're in. Ideally, we can have a full league before the offseason stuff starts.
-
I'm very much enjoying the league and I've been managing my team the whole time. I haven't done a ton of transactions, but would like to continue in the league.
-
I think we really should try to bring in people we know- these people all seem into it in March, and then they dissapear by July
-
I think we have a good idea, besides you and I, Bedarded and evamarie, the last transaction by another owner was Oldface on June 27th
-
I agree Gladden. I think that we should get a good idea of who is planning on renewing as the season ends. That way, we can work on offseason trades, etc.
-
I really like this league, but I think we really need to focus on replacing absentee owners, as Im sure many of you do, i have friends from other leagues who would step in
-
Adrian Gonzalez is on the block. Trade deadline is a week from today. Let me know if you're interested.
-
Buster Posey available for starting pitching
-
Well, as awesome as it was to have Ike Davis in my lineup last night, I would have liked it a little more if all three of his HRs weren't off Kennedy, who was also in my lineup!
-
Nice work getting to 10K points Eva. Gotta say that after you missed the draft, I didn't think you'd be the first one to 10K. Nice work putting together a solid squad!
-
Buster Posey, Yonder Alonso, Dayan Viciedo and Alcides Escobar are all available for starting pitching
-
I didn't think we could customize any rules like that? I thought they were standard across all Ottoneu leagues? If we can make changes, I'm fine with whatever as long as we're all in agreement with the change.
-
I'm OK with extending the waiver period. Ultimately, the more people are using the interface provided by the rules, the better (within reason).
-
I think next year, we should consider, if it is possible, making the waiver period a little longer. 24 hours seems a little short, and if quality players can't be picked up on waivers it throws the supply and demand off
-
in the market for a starting pitcher. send me some offers
-
Horrible luck on that pickup. And I agree about Rivera - hard not to like that guy no matter how you feel about the Yanks.
-
Yeah, that's a really unfortunate injury. Even though he says he's coming back, I kind of doubt it
