Welcome to the league WTF!
-
Been looking to try out 4x4 so glad to find a spot.
-
In out thanks
-
Madison Turkey's completed arbitration and asked to be abandoned. Please let everyone know if you are planning on leaving or staying. Don't forget to knock out arbitration- goes on for a month.
-
Salaries have been updated- please double check your team and let me know of any errors/omissions. Reminder that arbitration starts tomorrow- please get your dollars in and make sure to let us know if you plan to play next year.
-
Also note that arbitration begins on the 15th. You must assign at least $1 to every team or NONE of your dollars will allocate. If you are for sure NOT PLAYING next year, please speak up so we can get your team filled. If you are on the fence, please at least handle arbitration so the league remains competitive. Let me know if you plan on playing next year.
-
Sorry for the delay on this- below link is to a Google Sheet that shows what players will have their $1 increase taken away. You can unfilter the selection to see all players, but the ones listed (with the X) are having their salaries dropped. I'll make the change on the 14th. As a reminder, if a player played at all in the REGULAR season there salary went up $2. If they didn't play for any reason, they will not get an increase.

Congrats Red Dog! Same to Yonny and Foster. This was a tough season to manage so well done! Look forward to the offseason activity!
-
well done red dog! thorough victory!
-
After a week or so of everyone checking it and making sure there are no errors or omissions, we'll manually change salaries of the players who got the $1 increase to $0. If possible, I ask that no one make cuts at that time so it will be as simple and seamless as possible. If anyone has questions, or know they will for sure NOT be playing next year, please feel free to post here.
-
As voted upon earlier this season, all players who played this season will gain $2 in salary as normal. Players that would normally increase a dollar will NOT get their increase- that means all players who opted out, are minor leaguers, or were injured all season will not be increased. Once Ottoneu's system updates the salaries, I'll create a public Google sheet listing what all players current salaries are, as well as what they will be changed to (if applicable).
-
Congrats to RED DOG on his championship season, and is actually the second highest points total in all of Ottoneu! A bitter congrats on Yonny Eggs taking 2nd place on the last day of the season, and to Madison City Turkeys finishing in co-third place. This was a strange season for sure, but some baseball is better than no baseball! Congrats to all on a great season!
-
Heading into the final weekend of the season and we have four teams fighting for 2nd and 3rd place. Reminder that you need to get the min IP or else your pitching stats become 0. Note this does NOT affect the order of points; i.e. if a team that would have been 5th in a category gets zeroed out, the 6th place team in that category does not move up. That place merely doesn't exist. Best of luck to every one!
-
Commish the reds tigers game was rained out before a pitch was thrown but players are locked in my lineup. Anyway I can get Smoak and Cano in my lineup since those games haven’t started yet?
-
It's a few months late, but baseball is back fellas! Season starts on Thursday so make sure to set lineups and update trade blocks. Make sure to check out the new limits and min/max IP at the link on the top for the new rules and positional eligibility.
-
Right now the voting is leaning towards option 2 with six votes. Barring any vote changing, the remaining votes won't sway the difference and option 2 is what we will play under. That means if a player plays in any game this season, they will increase $2. Any player that normally would go up a dollar will have that salary wiped. These adjustments will be done as quickly as possible after the season completes so everyone knows the salary situations for the offseason. Arbitration is normal.
-
I don’t really see how the amount of games matters. If you have an injury for a majority of the year, they still get increased and are eligible for arb dollars. Also regarding minor league players, we have 40 roster spots to use however we see fit. Nobody is forcing anyone to have milb players. If you don’t think they are worth keeping with an extra $1 added on you can cut them or trade them! There isn’t anything that is unfair about option 1. We all would have the same rules.

Option 3- How can we have a full year player increase for 1/3 of a season? Not to mention players like Moncada who are sick and will probably play less.
-
Option 2
-
2 sounds good to me

I vote for option #2 (but am fine with either of the other 2 options).

option ONE

Prefer Option 2 but I am ok with any of them

I would be ok with any of them but I kind of like option 1 to push the action. We'd all be in the same boat, it's not like it would apply to only some folks in the league and not others.

For transparency- I am voting for option 2. I don't believe MiLB players should be increased because they won't have a chance to actually play this year, and thus might hurt their development in coming years. I also believe arbitration should occur as normal so that there is turnover on teams- if there are little to no increases, it could cause the offseason and draft to be a very slow one.
-
Option 1- arbitration and inflation as normal- $2 for all MLB players and $1 for MiLB. Option 2- $2 increase for anyone that plays MLB this season, no increase for MiLB or opt outs. Arbitration as normal. Option 3- no increase or arbitration at all. If the season is cancelled or the REGULAR season is not completed, option 3 will auto kick in. Our season ends with the regular season, so playoffs being cancelled will not auto kick in option 3.
-
Owners- upon reading the message board on the ottoneu community board there is a lot of dissension in how salary increases in the offseason works. In the effort of keeping the league fair, I'd like to propose three options for the offseason. We're bringing you these options now before folks start dropping players that could be impacted, as well as allow offseason cap management for those who may not be competing this year or look to sell off later this season. Please reply before next Fri 7/17
-
Baseball is back on the menu boys! Looks like we have about a month before the season begins, so get your rosters in order and let's fire up the trade blocks!
-
Anyone want to make a trade? I'm bored lol

REMINDER THAT DRAFT DAY IS THIS SUNDAY- 830PM EST- It is daylight savings this week, so make sure you turn the clocks an hour forward.
-
I think we should make a rule where if your #1 pitcher comes down with tommy johns between the keeper date and the draft date, you get to cut him for free XD
-
If we do this. Maybe we can consider having 5 player MiLB rosters and do that as a slow draft post regular auction?
-
You can and you just have to wait for your nomination. The draft doesn't get bogged down at the end where folks are making runs at prospects and fighting at $1 increments for marginal players. We used it as a means to speed up the end of the draft.
-
I don’t understand why they have to wait around? Can’t you nominate anyone you’d like when it’s your turn?

2/x and are now up for the standard 48hr auctions. It's not providing a competitive advantage to anyone and merely is a process to speed the draft up and allow people to sign off when they are done. The only con raised is the reason it was brought up in the first place- by the guy that waited until the end of the draft with 6-7 spots open and getting prospects for $1 each merely by waiting everyone out. This is just a discussion and NOT slated for a change. Please let me know your thoughts.
-
1/x I'd like to open a discussion on a draft rule change I used in a different league that significantly sped up our draft- no auction day draft of minor leaguers. The reasoning used was that teams looking to use the last 3-4 roster spaces on MiLB would have to sit around for extra rounds waiting to nominate these players, as opposed to just being able to mark "Draft Done". Our draft this year was about an hour shorter than the year before

I've set the draft day/time for March 8th, 830pm EST. We have yet to receive confirmations from REDDOG or Balls to the Walls, if yall could confirm that would be great. Please mark off the time/date on your calendars.
