This is a really unique league. Glad I found it doing research for my hometown AMA draft

I'm good but how does a 48 Hour draft work?

I think we should shoot to be done by 1:00 to 1:30Eastern. That should allow us enough time to get a good majority of rosters filled, but isn't too crazy late.
-
So I think the best solution will be to do the draft as scheduled and then set up the 48 hour free agency. If anyone thinks this isn't the route to go please weigh in now. Otherwise that is how we will proceed. Thank you Demons for figuring that one out for us!
-
By the way, I think BigDaddyTrump might actually be President Trump based on his schedule and availability.

Once you get through this initial auction draft, subsequent drafts are much faster and smoother, but I know this one can be a tough one. Have fun with it, don't go so long as to get burned out, and remember you have in-season auctions to fall back on if you all get tired of the auction draf
-
3) You can visit the Auction Draft page now via a link on your home page and set a watchlist and get familiar with the interface. Highly recommended.
-
2) You do not need to do all 480 players in the auction draft. You can end the auction draft at any time via the Commissioner Tools -> League Settings page, and then the site will let you do the in-season 48-hour auctions. Getting something like 25-30 players each in the auction draft and switching over to the 48 hour auction is something folks have done with good success.

Email answer from Nev when I asked about the draft conundrum:
"Hi Mark,
Definitely sympathetic to this. I have a few ideas:
1) Once bidding gets going, every bid resets the clock to 15 seconds. If 15 seconds go by without a bid, the auction is over and the player is awarded to the highest bidding team. Drafts get very long when people draw out +1 bids, so bidding more aggressively earlier in auctions will move things along a bit."

I'm co-managing my team with a friend. Ok if I add him to the Slack group too?

I created a Slack team for us. The url for the team is 27outconglomerate.slack.com for those of you that know how to join that way. For those that don't know how to join using the url, just send me your email and I can invite you.

Okay if everyone could please vote on the poll Demons put together otherwise it will be a long draft the 29th.
-
Ok - I expanded the doodle poll. Please everyone vote (again). We need to find a second night even if only for a few hours.
-
Anyone know how to get a slack invite?
-
Or we go the week before. I can add some more slots.
-
Thank you for putting that together, but from the 5 that responded already there isn't another night that works. I think we may have to just do it the 29th. Is it possible to start it an hour or two earlier?
-
All times ET, and that just refers to when the second day of the draft will START.
-
Everyone, please participate in this doodle poll for the SECOND draft slot. http://doodle.com/poll/78dzphdy5irs6cp5
-
Sorry Thursday nights I'm on duty, if I get a call I will have to go.
-
Demons could you set one up for us? the 28th is out for two teams so 29th/ 30th?
-
Why don't you put out a DOODLE poll with options? http://doodle.com/
-
Actually I'm going to be busy on the 28th

Will Tues/Wed the 28/29 work for you for the draft? Everyone please weigh in I have confirmed those dates for 6 league members so far.
-
Ok I just downloaded slack if that's how we are communicating.
-
I already have slack so if you can invite me that would be great

It sounds like we can pause the draft and resume it when we would like. So we know the 29th at 8:30 works. What are second dates close to the 29th that work for everyone?
-
I think we should do two draft sessions. Eight hours straight is brutal.
-
Works either way for me

I'd prefer 2 nights if that was possible
-
I'm on duty on the 30th and will have to run out if I get a call,
What about on a Sunday?
-
I live in Las Vegas so earlier would be difficult with work.

40 players/team and 12 teams. That is 480 players. If each player takes a minute, that is 8 hours. Can we look into the option of moving earlier? Perhaps a second draft day as a backup?
-
If we can do two nights that would be ideal but if not it is what it is
-
I prob could do that but would need to know by tomorrow

I've never done an auction on here before but can't see it taking 8 hours, but don't know that to be true. If it is we may have a few options.
We could make the draft start earlier in the evening if it worked with everyone.
Or
Would everyone be able to do it the next night as well at the same time? So it would be 3-29 - 8:30pm E and 3-30- 8:30pm E
I would have to check with the website to see if this is even possible. Please reply with thoughts on what will work best
-
Has anyone from this league done an auction draft on here before ?

My vote would be to split it up into two days if possible.
