So there will be approximately 24 auctions proceeding simultaneously, but everybody should have ample time to evaluate them and decide whether they want to increase the bid.

In short, each league member gets two nominations to start. Once a league member nominates a player, they are available to be bid upon for 12 hours. If less than four hours remain on the timer, and a new bid is placed on a player that exceeds the previous max bid, the timer will reset to eight hours, giving everybody in the league more time to decide if they want to bid the player up again. The timers also "freeze" overnight to account for sleep schedules.

Couch Managers is a third-party website that allows us to do an auction draft over the course of days/weeks rather than having to find a time for all of us to make it to the auction room on Ottoneu. Here is the website that hosts the draft:

One of the commissioners will create the draft room--all we need to do is create an account and wait for the invite to the draft room to be posted here.

I am technology illiterate. I defer all technology questions to those league members who can answer. A year has passed and I cannot remember how we set up the draft.

We have a motion to move the draft up to February 15th. I am for that as well. Do you have any objections to a February 15th starting date?

I looked back to last year and we started the slow draft in mid-February. I would probably prefer to do it earlier than March 1 to make sure we finish with some time before the first series starts in March. I would suggest something like February 15.

Hey everyone, a few reminders here:
Please pay your league fees as soon as possible. Many of you have already and it would be great to see everyone paid up sooner than later. The deadline to pay up AND make roster moves before the draft is January 31.
We are sticking with the Couch Managers slow draft. I have it penciled in on March 1st, starting at noon. Once again, if anyone desires that we move the draft up in time, please let us all know.

Happy New Year everyone. I believe the general consensus is that we have a slow draft on Couch Managers. The same draft we had last season. I'm suggesting that we start no later than March 1st as it may take a couple weeks to complete. Do we have any thoughts about starting the draft earlier?
Let's get this ironed out and hopefully we all get paid up and find a manager for our one unoccupied team.

I thought the live drafts I did last year were better experiences overall, but I totally get that finding a date that works for everybody can be a bit like herding cats. I'm ultimately fine with either option.

I'm comfortable with either - it's really fun to do all-in-one-night but I totally agree with Hawk Legends that it's really hard to coordinate and make work with everyone and definitely wouldn't want one owner to miss out in any way or have to find a sub, etc.

League home > "Commish Tools" subheading > "Current Managers" subheading > then you should be able to click something like add or change manager on the Big Papi team... then type in "Brass Monkey" to add him. You can temporarily make me commish if you want me to do it real quick

I agree with the points made by "get a leg up". Having a single team miss the arbitration process isn't a major issue, as long as "sandpipers" submit their selections within the next 3 days. ;)

There are soooo many available teams that are available to be claimed. I'm sure, in good time, we'll get a new manager. I'm not sure it's a good idea to have a commissioner do arbitration for another team though. We may just have to accept the fact that we are short one team doing arbitration. Not perfect, but I believe other leagues will have it worse.
