I am sorry guys. I thought the draft was tonight. Anyone looking to make any trades?

-
happy draft day, world series of tubes.
-
Shocknawe is in for March 5 so I am pretty excited about it! I'll send out a reminder a day or two before. See you all in the auction room!
-
Alright - I set the draft date for Thursday, March 5 at 9:30 Eastern Time. I never heard back from Shocknawe, and I will continue to pray that he can make it.
-
My apologies for missing the poll. Prefer the Friday put I can make either day work.
-
I'm good with either the 5th or the 6th at 930p. I have other auctions slated for March 4th and 8th, getting this on the calendar would be great.
-
I sent messages to the three people who haven't responded to the poll earlier today - Fidelio wrote back to say he could make Thursday the 5th at 9:30. I'm hoping the remaining two respond quickly! (Lt. Columbo also signed off on the 5th at 9:30 ET, even though he indicated some issues with later times on the poll.) So it'll either be the 5th or I'll set up the slow draft over the weekend and we'll start it up a week or so after that.
-
But I would love to get something on the calendar before more calendars start to fill!

Works for me. But I think Shock & Pinellas were not available in that time-slot on the first survey, and haven't yet responded.

Soooo... can we settle on Friday, March 6th at 9:30 EST for the draft? Looks like that works for 9/9 of us.
-
(Or even just message me your availability on those 5 days!)

I know the poll looks a little daunting, but if the remaining 6 people who haven't responded could just fill out their availability for March 5 through March 9 (where we're currently 6/6!), that would be great!!
-
Slow draft sounds interesting. Never done one. I'm fine with that assuming that restricted free agent issue Duda mentioned can be figured out.

I would prefer a live draft, but would be on board with a slow draft if there isn't a good time for everyone.
-
Fine with slow draft.
-
I'm ok with a slow draft. I"m in the 20-teamer and have done two others. It's easy to pick up the flow.
-
I don't object to slow draft. One of the problem tho is the restricted free agents. Live drafting has the built-in 5$ discount to original team. While in slow draft that disappears, and makes it complicated to bid on, and manage money. I'm not aware if the commissioner has also super powers during the slow drafting process allowing quick adjustments. I hope we will find a time slot for live drafting if not slow draft :)
-
I looked at the slow auction a bit, and agree with one of the comments which was something like it was exhilarating and overwhelming! If we don't find common ground or close enough common ground, I'm not opposed to a slow draft.

We've been using it in the 20-team Ottoneu league (1053) and you can see an example of how it functions here: https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/?auction_id=315
-
Second, there's the possibility of a slow auction, which we would run through a separate site. How a slow auction works: Each new auction has a 24 hour run time, where each new bid on that player extends the end of the auction by 12 hrs (We can use different times). Each team can nominate 1 (or 2) players at a time, so you have multiple auctions going on simultaneously.
-
Ok everyone! For the draft - the poll didn't produce any dates where everyone could make the draft, so I'm proposing 2 solutions. First, a new (and overwhelming) poll with more dates, including weekdays, where we can hope to get lucky: https://www.when2meet.com/?8730647-Tqohf
-
Seems like a bug. Niv acknowledged as a much in a community post. Commish! Could you undo that?
-
What is going on with the Tanaka waiver claim? I didn't think there were waiver claims during this period...?

Hi all - Seatown Boomstixx had a bit of a misunderstanding about the keeper deadline, this being his first off-season in the league. Would anyone have a problem if I made a few penalty-free cuts for him, to bring his roster down to 35 players? (it'd free up about $80-$90, if that affects your budget calcs.)
-
I’m west coast, but a weeknight should work for me. Thanks!

Paring down my roster, open to last minute offers until about 9p EST.

Also, a nearly-belated reminder that there are only 5.5 hours left before the keeper deadline!
-
A weeknight is fine!
-
I know there are a few of us at least on the West coast. But I wouldn't have an issue with a weeknight. Some things are more important than work. ;) I also might be able to move some things around on one or two dates if we hear from everyone and I'm the one nay.

do we have anyone on the west coast or have a foreseeable issue with a weeknight draft ? I may have to open up a new poll that includes week days after work if we can't get everyone lined up on the current poll...

I’m definitely not pissed off,I think it’s an absolute steal with the potential to add 1800-2000 points to your roster for one player. Trout goes for a similar price at auction so this one is incredibly lopsided imo . Just my 2 cents, all good.
-
Not trying to piss anyone off though.

I think the Trout deal is pretty even, actually! Not talent-wise, obviously, but $80 is a lot of cap space to consume ahead of the draft
-
Not a problem. Here is my point of view: i had 150$ of salary to shed. I offered trout to a handful a team who had the salary cap to eat the 80$. We came to an agreement where NB will take a huge salary and me I get a potential star who I like a lot. The return I get was what I was the most pleased in my discussions with teams. My leverage was close to non existent so I took the best offer.
-
Sorry but I vetoed that Trout deal. That one is a little odd to me.
-
i will be back. Sorry i haven't been too active.

"Newer Beginning". Niiiice.

We have 2 teams that need to vote for arbitration- do we want to try to get some fillers to try to get 100% participation?
-
Last day to vote on arbitration!
