can you spell out why you think it changes the draft? It has no effect on the draft, your payroll is spent, its not different from trading the day after the draft up until the cut deadline

Well, this is just not right, and that should be the arbiter!! Trading now will change the dynamic of the draft. Why even bother drafting!! This is wrong!

you can't go over $400 in the draft on couchmanagers and if you go over $400 here there is a cut deadline that will come into play. There will be trading allowed in the league until the deadline, and allowing deals now will not change anything

I'm glad CouchManager won't allow it, because I don't think it's fair to go over the cap in the draft. What would stop a team from bidding everyone high?

this site is not tied to the draft, just make sure your cap here is what you are watching, or you will end up needing to cut players at the deadline

Just a reminder that trading is allowed until the Jan 31 cut deadline. No salary cap is in effect until the trade deadline

All players should be current on your team, as the commissioner team has added them throughout the auction. Please verify the correct players and salaries are showing on your roster and post here on the message board any issues you may see.

One thing, for the new people, you have a total of 162 games to use at C, but you have 2 spots so you can use a platoon, or use 2 guys who will get less than full time AB's. If you have 2 full time catchers, you will hit your games limit really early.

I will be setting up the slow draft today and inviting everyone. I would like to start now, since I will be off until Monday and will have time to administer the draft if needed. There will be a clock so its not high demand on your time and you should be ok as long as you can try to log in every day. It is possible to set up a bid like eBay to bid while you are gone by setting your max amount, so on a player you really want, might be a good feature.

According to the Doodle Poll, it appears we could have agreement that a Saturday evening would work for a live auction. If we did 2 Sunday evenings in a row, that would allow us to live draft.

i can't find any other sites for a slow auction. i know its a mock, but half of the people never nominated anyone. so its hard to see really how the flow went. i was needing to get a feel for how much action to allow at one time. the issue with not being able to bid on additional players will go away with a full roster instead of 5 spots

It's annoying but the slow draft is almost enticing enough to put up with it in my opinion. However if there are issues about bidding on specific players that could be a no go. Is there any other site that allows for a slow auction?

Looking at trying to set a time for an auction. A full auction will take around 8-12 hours and would need to span more than one choice. My preference would be to lock in down on a consecutive day schedule, but we could do a two part with a week between. Merkins, i invited you to slack. I think the idea of starting the draft during the winter meetings is great. There are a ton of players who aren't changing teams and some that do would add a fun element to the winter meetings in relation to the draft
