Doesn't have to be under the cap. I worded that wrong. Basically, on the minute that the season ends you must have a LEAGL roster. That means the system is not locking you out from making lineup changes. You may not have an invalid roster at 23:59:59

Are you just trying to prevent someone from starting a bunch of auctions on the last day and enter the offseason with like 60 players on the roster? Obviously that is wrong (not sure if it's against the rules) but say if someone took on some loans to get some players, they have to cut players to get under $400?

If a team goes into the offseason illegal, I have the ability, and will, cut any players that forced your team into an invalid state

Just so everyone knows, I will be requiring and enforcing each team to have a legal roster at the conclusion of MLB's regular season. Your salary (including cap penalties) must be below your salary cap on the night of Sunday October 2nd, and the number of players on your roster must be below your teams' roster spots cap (40+ 60DL players). Obviously when arb ends, up until the January 31st cut deadline, every roster is legal. Good luck with the rest of the season!

If it was someone more consequential, then I'd probably be more up in arms about it, but I think in general, we just don't want to see anyone getting fleeced.

Personally I don't think anyone should have to explain their position in their trade, free market et al, and in this particular case I think we all can more and less see the rationalization behind it, I think it's just the something for nothingness that is rubbing the people the wrong way (which is why i said it shouldn't be done often IMO).

I mean it's a $1 player in a 4x4 league that can't get on base and doesn't hit for power. I'm pretty positive that this is the furthest extent to which it will go, and it's not much.

Though it would probably be better form to at least swap unwanted $1 players, something for nothing shouldn't be done very often IMO.
