Rebuilders, gamblers and opportunists gather round! Momentarily I will be cutting my $50 Christian Yelich. If you've been staring at your own expensive, under-performing (or hurt) star player that you can't trade for more than a few ok prospects, this might be the unique opportunity you've been looking for to turn him into a heavily discounted Yelich (once he re-auctions for at least $25 min bid) PLUS a bunch of cap room once your own players you'd need to cut re-auction. Let's have some fun! :)

Luis Robert available for help this year send message or offer if interested
-
Willing to consider moving Trea Turner, Snell, Yelich, Greinke, etc. Looking for young, good MLB players with significant 2022 surplus. Not really looking for prospects unless they are elite and likely to debut this year. I consider Turner and Snell (and possibly Yelich) keepers for 2022 as well (albeit at par-ish type salaries), so they will take significant assets if you're interested. Let me know!

Cuts are not permitted until after the draft is complete.
-
Am I allowed to cut a couple players before the draft? I realize that even if I can, I will be assessed the cap penalty.
-
Agreed, Ningen, which is why I think 3/21 is best. The season starts 4/1, but the immediately-preceding weekend is both Passover and (for many) spring break, so 3/21 is probably the cleanest.
-
I'll always vote to push draft day as close to opening day as possible.
-
March 21 works for me

I will be traveling on the 14th so I would be a no for that whole weekend
-
Whoops. I meant March 14 or 21. Thanks!
-
I can make any Sunday in March work (though I think March 10th and 17th are Wednesdays?).

Thinking about setting our auction date: we've usually aimed for a Sunday evening in March. How does either Sun. March 10 or Sun. March 17 work for everyone?
-
Welcome, Mike, as our newest owner! He has taken over the old Stogies squad.
Look for an email from me in the next couple of days about setting our draft date. Thanks!
-
Let me see your last minute fliers. I'll be holding till the zero hour!
-
Cut and trade deadline is Sunday night! Don’t forget!
-
$20 Merrifield available for anyone in need of 2B/OF and/or speed. He's a guy I'll certainly otherwise keep, but I have enough speed elsewhere to consider moving him if I can get a similar value pitcher (or possibly power bat).

Trading season is upon us! (Also, I changed my team name.)

The vote is 7-4 in favor of arbitration. So we are sticking with it. Thanks all!
-
I'm for arb.
-
You should have just received a Doodle poll regarding arbitration. Please complete it as soon as you are able. Thanks!
-
I can undo my arb too, if thats the decision. But, I vote to keep arb.

Happy to un-do my arb if that's the direction we go in. For the record, I vote for no arbitration

Are we voting on arb or not? People have already started to do this without a vote
-
We should keep arb just based on the fact that decisions were made based on the assumption arb would happen.

We can discuss here and then I will conduct a vote, if that’s the desired path. My own opinion (speaking as owner, not Commissioner) is that (a) I don’t see why the shortened season should be relevant, and (b) it may not be fair to change now, given that owners may have been making in-season roster decisions assuming that we’d have arb.
-
I prefer no arb but ok either way
-
I agree with Vermont
-
My initial thought is that while only getting 60 games (or less) out of a player before another round of arbitration is a little frustrating, arbitration is too important to ongoing league health to skip. But I'm open to league input as well.

Given how short the season was I think we should have a vote to see if we should do arbitration this year. I’m fine either way but I think we should vote on it. Thoughts?

Howdy all, I have an open team in another 5x5 league that I am in. It is $100 league, with a 10 man MiLB roster managed on Google Sheets. Team is Zino and Zach

Good luck on the final day - what a finish we've got! Thanks all for a great season...we made the best of this, and it's been a lot of fun (even as my team has completely folded like a cheap suit).
