Congratulations to Senzelnati. And here’s to a “normal” season next year.

Glad to have you back Firecrackers!
-
Welcome back glad to hear you've pulled thru and are recovered.
-
was in hospital getting kidney transplant then had complications -I am good togo now
-
Nado, Bryant and Ozuna all for sale. Hit me up.
-
Good Luck everyone.
Are they keeping runner on 2nd in extra innings rule for real season?
-
Good luck everyone! Let's see what kind of weird outlier stuff happens this season!
-
Normal rules it is -> I agree with Java's comment on mirroring MLB contracts/service.
Even if the MLB shuts down, I feel we should have a winner (with a "small sample size" asterisk) and do the normal offseason. Hopefully we don't have to cross that bridge.

I agree, it seems like we can move forward with normal rules {unless league shuts down of course}
-
I'm leaning towards moving forward with normal allocation rules and salary increases this year. Would need to see at least 6 managers push to suspend arbitration for 2020 to make this change, and doesn't look like that is the case.

I'm fine with allocation going on as normal. Is anyone against that plan? I'd like to make sure we are on the same page before the season starts to help us understand player values as the season {hopefully} unfolds
-
I agree with Java, we should stick close to how MLB is operating. Since they are still observing service time and free agency, we should still go through arbitration.
-
That's a big IF on the season but arbitration is a fact of life. MLB players will still have free agency so I think allocation should proceed as normal.

How are we feeling about the season and arbitration at the end? If we see a 60 game season played out do we go forward with allocation?
-
Looks like we have an answer on what happens if your player gets COVID. https://community.ottoneu.com/t/covid-19-il-update/7591
-
I'm good either way on arbitration after this season. If we kept arbitration it would be no different than says Mookie still hitting free agency after this short season and negotiating a new contract. At the same time, I don't really want to take big Cap hits on players this year.
-
One league has suspended the season. No increases in salary or
Minors eligibility. Glad I’m not a commissioner of any league this year. I’ll go along with any decisions.

Somewhere in the 40-50 game window made sense to me. Assuming that even if we skip arbitration allocations, the usual +$1 and +$2 salary increases would still happen.
I'm curious if Niv has any answer to the "what if my players get covid-19" question. His updates have been good so far.

I’ve heard 50 games as a number batted around. Any thoughts on unlimited IL slots? For instance let’s say you get so unlucky that 10 of your players get Covid...
-
I'm hoping to be able to play out the season as normal, but not optimistic in the MLBs ability to pull it off as proposed

Was any game limit floated around in your other leagues for skipping arbitration? Agree it's a conversation worth having.

I think skip arb if they hit a certain number of games. Pretty real possibility the season doesn’t get played all the way through.
-
I’m for playing the season with our rosters. I do wonder if we should skip arb this year or not, that’s the conversation I’m having in my other leagues as well.
-
So what’s the plan here? We going to run this like normal? Freeze rosters? Allow unlimited cuts/auctions before season starts? Unprecedented times calls for unprecedented thinking
-
I'm considering this the official song of the 2020 season. Hopefully we actually get games as planned.

So - a short season, and a weird situation! This is gonna be interesting!
-
Dang we have a 12-way tie for first right now!

Great idea.

I just clicked the button to formally end our 2020 draft, which means that free agents are now available for auction through the normal in-season process.

Much A Duda About Nothing ... the rest of the league is waiting in the draft room. Decided to give a 5 minute grace, but we're starting at 5:05pm sharp with or without you.

An event where you sit in front of a computer screen (or cell phone) for about 3 hours trying to obtain people to service your inner need to control others while trash talking other individuals with a need to control others in the hopes that the people you have selected to control are better than their people in a 162 game athletic competition lasting about 6 months. At least that is what my therapist says a draft is :).

What is a draft?

Draft is this Sunday - are you ready?

If anyone is interested in joining more league I am in 3 that are still looking for owners (League of Bleacher Exec., Just a Bit Outside, and Old Man TC). Old Man and Bleacher uses the same format as here and Just a Bit uses the vote-off arbitration system instead of allocations. Teams can be found on the claim team page and are listed in both the Availble team section and expired team section. Thank you for your help.
-
Thought it was strange that another team would have the same name...
-
I remember you being here when I started! Well, welcome back :)
-
Just realized I was in this league up until 2yrs ago... Little awkward, but happy to be back!
-
Probably similar to McKay. To move him from SP to OF or vice versa you have to move him to the bench first.
-
$23 Ohtani is definitely one of the more exciting assets on your team. I'd take a read of the below thread if looking to understand the day-to-day nuances.

Not quite sure how Ohtani works. Haven't had him in any of my other leagues.
-
Much Welcome to the League. Looking forward to a super experience.
-
Welcome new Flaherty!
