One other piece of house keeping is anyone interested in serving as co-commish with me?

We have two openings, I have marked both teams abandoned and posted in the Ottoneu community board. Feel free to reach out to any friends etc. I’ll be traveling over the next couple of weeks so I will try and stay on top of it. Let me know if anyone has any questions or concerns. Thanks and I’m looking forward to the start of the season

I hope the league doesn't mind, but I'm going to spam out some trade offers. Normally, I would reach out and chat, but there's limited time until the deadline. Maybe we can have a deal that works for us in the next 24 hours.
Also, I will have a co-owner joining me at some point.

Thanks, Finding!

Hello everyone! Happy to be here and playing with you all. I've played Ottoneu for awhile and think SABR is my favorite format. I'm going to renew the team now, go through the Roster Organizer, and update my trade block in case there's any deals to be made before the deadline.
-
Thank you! I think this is the only variant of Ottoneu I've never played.

I received a couple emails today from this league so I just popped back in to make sure you all got my previous message that i won't be involved. Thanks!

get your arb in!
-
All, after perusing some format options, I am going to switch to a league with H2H and playoffs. As last year was my first in Otto, i learned a lot. Thanks for the year. Congrats again to Mock. Commish, please advertise my team as available. Thanks!
-
thanks all....excited to try for 5 in a row next year....I was feeling some heat this year!
-
Hi Commish and owners, wanted to say it's been a pleasure playing with all of you this season. Got way too many leagues and cannot maintain the rythm (time consuming and $$$). So I won't be renewing many of my leagues like this one, got some talent to attract new owner for next year so you should be able to quickly fill vacancy. have a good arb and a great future season! Thanks Commish for great work

Well, I fell about 50 points short of proceeding into the round of 16 in the OPL. If only I had bid $1 more on Xavier Edwards (sigh). Anyway I’m ready to consolidate. Let me know if anyone needs a 3B help, looking to start building next years OPL team.

I have finished 9th overall in the OPL “group stage” and will be heading to the knockout round of 32. If anyone wants to trade for any of my players who just dropped on the IL send over offers in the next day or so. Thanks, je

So it’s looking pretty likely that I’m going to make it into the OPL tournament, I have a couple of roster spots I need to lock down, I could use a good reliever and another bat to replace Tork. Send over your offers, thanks

Ah! Thanks.
-
Usually it’s to reclaim more of the cap penalty of a specific player an owner has previously owned and cut. If a player that you have cut remains a free agent for 30 days you can start another auction and if you win you can cut the player and reclaim 1/2 of the cap penalty. You can do that as many times as allowed in season until you whittle the cap penalty down $1.

I have been wondering about the add/drop strategy here. Why do so many owners add a player and then immediately drop him? To keep a competing owner from getting him? Or is there some sort of financial advantage I don't quite understand?
-
The draft is tonight please reach out with questions or concerns.

I’m good for either.

Hoyt was the only one that couldn’t make the 18th and he will give it a go now. I think we are good for Monday unless there is another owner has an issue. Thoughts?

When you're retired, this is a full time job amigo, too many, I was to go down on number of leagues, but's it's like an addiction. I think I have to consult....haha

Someday, I want to walk in the Ottoneu managerial shoes of Big Papi, I am in awe my friend!

strongly prefer during the day (afternoon) Sunday 3/17 - still okay with original 3/18 despite my own challenge on that day.

Well, I already have eleven auctions on March 17, that's why that date was not good for me. Go ahead with it, I'll manage but will surely miss a nom here and there depending on time of auction (12:00, 15:00, 19:00 (2), 20:00 (4), 20:30 (2) and 21:00.), so best time for me would be in the afternoon. Hope this helps

AKABP you are one of them, right now it seems like moving draft day to Sunday 3.17 works best for most. I just need to verify with a few more folks. Sound off if you haven’t responded to the Poll but Sunday works. Thanks again everyone

So it’s looking like there is one owner unavailable for every day between now and the start of the season. We could skip the draft and do in-season auctions for all of the free agents over the next week or so, thoughts?

It doesn't sound like there are any good options for the group. I am just 1 of 12 and let's just move forward as planned; don't go to any more trouble on my account. I will play the hand I've been dealt for better or worse. Appreciate everyone hearing me out.

Hello everyone. I have been scheduled to work on March 18th in the evening which presents a major conflict here. Is there any possibility of doing the draft on a weekend night on SAT 3/16 or Sun 3/17 please? Wouldn't a weekend make more sense? Those on east coast can be up later, ect.

Sounds good!
-
The time and date work for me but, as someone on the East Coast, I would not be opposed to having a set end time for the draft. Thanks!
-
One proposal if it gets to late for the east coast folks would be to set an end time for the draft, get the big guys drafted in the auction and then move to the in-season auction rules after that. Let me know what you think.

Also does an 8pm (CST) or probably 8pm (CDT) by mid-march start time work for everyone?
