Unless Niv has updated the way 2-way players are handled, you won’t be able to put him on the P bench, and whenever you want to make him active you have to move him into an empty active spot. I did learn something I should have already known: McKay the hitter is no more. No loss.

I put him in rp lineup ..seems to keep him there . thanks. I'm overly deep in OF so doubt I'll need to employ him there , but ya never know
-
Try moving him from the hitter bench to the pitcher bench, instead of to an active pitcher slot. Then from your pitcher bench move him to an active pitcher slot. I think that's how it works with Ohtani.
-
Brew, you probably want to take a look at this: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/two-way-players-on-the-lineup-page-shohei-ohtani/3427

or more like one 10$ certificates each to dollar general, dollar tree, goodwill, and aldi
-
Its like having a 30$ gift certificate to Whole Foods and someone wants to trade you 40$ gift certficate to Dollar Tree

I hate to have to post this every year , but here goes : Premium impact keeper top talent guys with good contract only leave my team if the same is coming back. Three guys that I could eaily get of waiver wire for a premium stud doesnt cut it, unless my guy is old/overpriced , im out of it, and im retooling/rebuilding. Im not at all opposed to scraps for scraps or creative packages for 2nd/3rd tier guys.

Our auction went so quickly I immediately volunteered to proxy for an abandoned team in another league. Last place team had 23 slots and about $200. Lots of good players in the draft. It was fun to run the table a few times.

Agreed.

Thanks to everyone first a fun evening and a momentary escape from the worlds troubles

Thanks Kevin. Emily had dinner ready and I forgot all about ending the auction.

Prospects are back to.1$ and 2$

Go anology Drew, wish I said it

Ngb was the equivalent of toilet paper hoarders and caused mass panic prospect buying.
-
Ok. I ended the auction. Hopefully all is still corrent and folks can make roster moves

If you want something to shoot for, my best score was 12 out of 15 (worst was 5 out of 15).

Instead of preparing for the auction I’ve spent the day playing baseball savant’s “guess the pitch/spray chart” game. I can’t figure out how it could have helped me, so the best I can hope for is to distract some of you too: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/visuals/guessing-game

So are we doing the draft tonight? Just been so much back and fourth.

I sort of feel 4th ish unless I get some positive pitching surprises

I have Charles as favorite but John looks good too
-
I'd have taken that bet if we could have made it without Charles knowing about it. Probably a number of us think there might not be a 2020 season and will be drafting for next year and beyond, but Charles is well situated to go for this year if there's any chance of a season.

So are we drafting this weekend or postponing? I can go either way, but I think I lean towards postponing.

Yeah. SunTrust is not like that. Parking is mostly (there are a couple new decks) in the lots of local office buildings and shopping centers under agreements with the Braves. Really a problem for day games; only a hassle at night. But there are plenty of ways to spend money right around the park. I assume you can get to Wrigley, like Fenway (and even Nats Park) easily by public transport. (I can get to SunTrust by marta and bus, bit it’s wildly inconvenient.)

M iller Park is 10$ parking, patrk where you want and has its own exit off the highway, Although farther than Wrigley, much easier logistics and costs
-
...not the park itself, which is a little odd, because the college football fans of Atlanta love their tailgating too, and Turner Field, though downtown, was also surrounded by lots. But the Braves had a better way to make money off the land around the park, and parking is a hassle. Which wouldn’t be bad with public transit, but....

I’d like to go to Miller Park too, especially with my visit to Chase Field cancelled. The only indoor baseball I’ve seen is in Tampa, which isn’t the best example (been to Safeco too, but a beautiful day with the roof open). Miller Park took a bit of abuse here when the Braves—a local real estate development company that also dabbles in sports entertainment—were building SunTrust; Miller was always the example of “what we’re NOT going to build.” They meant the acres of parking lots...

Baseball is guarenteed 74 degree climate control and a fun time. I took Brent and Kevin there . its a rather uninhibited crowd
-
I bet Drew would like Milwaukee or Madison , great food scene and a culture of beer and eating, fish and fishing. Madison is known as the Berkeley of the Midwest , and very socially advanced and progressive.
-
Who is going to be sneaky and get Sale for 2$ and stash him in extra 60 day DL slot ?
-
Hey now, we love it up here! Granted we still have over 2ft of snow in the yard and 80% of our food comes via barge out of Seattle, but it still beats hotlanta. Even after the insult, I think drafting now is not the best choice since the season is at least 2 months out.
-
Amen
-
I admit I’m not the detail guy...but I’m sure gonna reassign the “detail guy” if their best plan is ”hope for the best.” How do you think Drew ended up in Alaska?

Bats, this is why you use to have a stellar staff working for you (you never were a detail guy). Read back and find my post from last week. Two weeks of player (and support staff) quarantine, two weeks of inter squad play, private jets, and hope for the best. Perhaps negotiate tv contracts first.
-
And, they won’t be the only game in town. If MLB can do it, the NBA can do it much easier. They’ll have a season to finish and playoffs too.
BatGPT on
March 19, 2020 8:19 PM

But what happens after the season starts, they’re playing in empty stadium, trying to have as little contact with the rest off the world as possible...but 1 player tests positive. Now everyone who has been in a clubhouse or dugout or plane with him has to be quarantined. Does the team forfeit every game for the next 2 weeks? Promote their MiLB team (that’s almost the same thing)? It won’t be easy to do this.
BatGPT on
March 19, 2020 8:14 PM

So you think the players should just take the risk (how many NBA players have tested positive so far)? You think you can hold a game without getting 50 people together, that they’ll be willing and able to travel, leave their families behind? I actually think/hope they might, as long as they get something very significant out of it. But it’s not going to be soon, and even if we draft once they’ve set a real opening day, our lives will have been pretty constrained til then (and beyond).

Bats, there’s no doubt it’s gonna get a whole lot worse. Classic invasive species curve; we’ll be lucky if the death toll stays in the tens of thousands (not very likely). But I’m betting MLB wises up and figures out that if they play in empty stadiums the tv networks will pay them a mint as they’d be the only sport going. And everyone would suddenly be a baseball fan; this could be their best chance to capture a new generation. These people have to be smart enough to figure that one out.
