I am coastal.
-
Is "coastal elite" a compliment? Thanks, maybe? I guess technically I'm near the coastline of the dry-ass Salt River.
(and no, no idea who Front Row Amy is -- though I'm picturing some combination of Annie Savoy and Pennie Lane)
-
Coastal elites? Doesn’t Brent live in…Phoenix? (Do any of us live in a coastal city outside Alaska?) Anyway I knew more about Amy (because I heard about her from you) than some random Glenallen Hill HR that I guess went really far. My own experiences have been just-misses: I was at Yaz the Elder’s 2nd-to-last game, and when offered my choice of tickets to the 89 World Series I chose game 4, not game 3.

i dont expect you coastal elites to know who front row amy even is ( except maybe Brent )
-
I was also at the game where Scherzer tied the record of 20 Ks.
-
I had seats behind Front Row Amy at a Brewers game once
-
My closest claim to fame was seeing Tom Seaver's 299th victory at Fenway.
-
Seeing a cycle is pretty awesome. I saw Smoltz's 3000th K, but that was able to be predicted before the ticket was purchased. Probably the best random baseball feat I've seen was Willie Harris going 6-6 with 2 triples.
-
I haven't seen too many famous moments . saw Glenallen Hill hit Hr on top of rooftop across the street. Was at the Tom Browning sits on rooftop in uniform.game
-
Nice Mikey , never seen one in person
-
Went to yesterday’s Nat’s game and saw my first cycle. Turner’s third cycle.
-
ian happ sure hasnt done squat
-
It was the smartness of being desperate.
-
Schwarber with 15.8 ppg over the last ten games. Henry was the only one who still believed in him a month or so ago.
-
Fred, I told you this…
-
Fedde stinks Mikey
-
I hope Brent can trade Iggy for a prospect to replace Corbin
-
Heh , I was eager and excited to click accept
-
Sorry it didnt work out for you Fred. Over their last ten games, both Pham and Iggy are exactly as you describe them (>5.5 ppg and >8 ppi), so maybe they have shaken off the rust. No consolation for you Im afraid.
-
Maybe the net of trade , of me landing Carroll, will prove valuable down the road when Hader gets too pricey to be kept
-
Well Kevin, all three you gave me for Hader are cut or traded . All i have to left to show for that trade is Corbin Carroll. At the time thought was such a good trade , Pham to be 5.5 ppg, Pineda around 5.0 ppi , and Iglascious a 8.0 ppi closer. Brent was kind enought to trade ne Carroll for Iggy though

Cubs combined no hitter @ Dodgers
-
Especially the ‘roided up high-elevation version from (naturally) 1996.

Id rather had Ellis Burks right now
-
Wait, if athletic but brittle guys who play transcendent CF are the next Eric Davis, how the hell is Cristian Pache available on the wire?

I guess if we don’t care about the difference (damn arithmetic!) between their actual performances…then sure, it’s perfect. But now I’m starting to wonder how Buxton would look if we could Dr Who him back to the mid-80s? He’d have no trouble with those 91 mph FBs, and those guys thought SBs mattered so he’d be turned loose on the bases. Available medical care might be a problem. I might rather have Buxton in the 80s than E trying to play modern baseball.

Not everything is MATH !!!!
-
Plus gold glover difference maker CF
-
The comp also is in regards to their body type, skinny but strong ..and also how brittle they both are/were
-
The zips time warp of a healthy(er) Davis is fun, if somehow still a little disappointing (https://blogs.fangraphs.com/zips-time-warp-eric-davis/ ). I probably should spend my baseball time attending to my lineup, not reminiscing about Eric the Red. Thanks Rebuilders.

Years before Caseco got a lot of love for a 40/40 season, Eric Davis went 27/80 and 37/50 in back to back seasons. Since Buxton’s career highs are less than half those #s, maybe you guys are giving him a bit too much credit with that comp.
-
Eric Davis is the perfect comp…
-
I used to call him Buston all the time to irritate NGB. Bust in the sense , at that time , a falied prospect not in the sense he always gets injured
-
Man is Buxton snake bit. He is exactly the return of Eric Davis of the 90s Reds
-
The Rays have informed top shortstop prospect Wander Franco he’ll be promoted before Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox
-
Weather advisory: the remnants of ts claudette will pass thru the Atlanta area over the next 24 hours, delivering 2 to 5 inches of rain. Today’s game hasn’t been postponed yet…but that looks likely. It’s raining lightly now. Forecasts can always change or be wrong but I’m sitting my Braves/Cards. Tomorrow’s game is late so it’s possible it gets played.
