I don’t know about you Fred but 9.5+ ppg (and a 180 wRC+!) at 20 in high A (from a guy who may stay at S), with 57 walks vs 56 Ks this year, kinda does jump off the page. You’re the one who brought up a single A guy. Not sure what you’re looking for if Harris jumped out at you but Volpe doesn’t. Dude seems like a top-50 prospect right now.

There are a few organizations I value higher too in regards to.scouting and development, and Cubs are not one of them
-
Pat, I'm not NGB, seldom look at Single A or R unless someone jumps off the page with their performance and I see a quick path to MLB. High hit tool tends to get my notice as well. I try to avoid pitchers but get suckered in by the velocity and movement write ups.
-
I grew up a braves fan, but they have since been demoted to secondary status behind the (ugh) dbacks.
-
Hitch and Mikey are DC. Myself and Cooper are Cubs. Kevin, Brent, pat are braves . drew is reds . henry red Sox . Charles white Sox. And most have secondary and Tertiary teams
-
I thought it was closer to to a third of the league, but I could be wrong.
-
Brew, if you’re prospecting for unsigned single A lotto tix, how about this guy: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/430/playercard?id=36683

Aren’t “all” the Braves fans here just you and me? But I’m not saying you’re wrong about his eventual (like next spring, after the draft) value and use. He may be in single A but he spent much of spring training in the big league camp…I couldn’t squeeze him onto my 2021 roster but I imagine things will be different next year.

Impressive
-
I figured Single A , I had a chance
-
With all the Braves fans in this league, I figured he be a hot commodity eventually. I added him in March.
-
It’s almost impossible to find undiscovered talent in this league
-
I have to hand it to this league, went to look up Michael Harris III and he is rostered
-
Mike Trout at 87$ has value as a rental to a contending team , and not so much with his recent set back. Zero value to those looking towards next year.
-
That's silly Fred. Simply nominating a guy gives you no right to a player, and nothing wrong with adding a little sweetener.
-
Poaching someone's prospect nomination then adding them to a previously rejected offer, is really poor etiquette
-
Luis Robert in two or three weeks

Eloy Jimenez Expected To Be Activated From Injured List Monday

Nice trade for both teams but it’s always a little sad to see the end of an era….

It took me most of the year for my brain not to see “WTF” whenever I saw “WFT”. Pretty fitting actually
-
WFT and WTF certainly go together.
-
My suggestion, in honor of the Hogs Offensive Line? The Washington Trough.
-
The local media here in D.C. is going bonkers, “Cleveland starts their naming process six months after the WFT and finishes it a year earlier? WTF!”
-
And the 3rd. I’ll stop now, but google being google, you know I could keep this up for days. https://fishingbooker.com/blog/fishing-lake-erie/

Well it’s true that I don’t-the only rod I still own is 3-weight fly rod for little Appalachian brookies, and I haven’t used it in years—but this is the first thing google gave me: https://www.gameandfishmag.com/editorial/fall-yellow-perch-fishing-on-lake-erie/191395

Perch are pseudo panfish, if you did cast first them you would use an ultralight and 4# test
-
You don't fish for perch ,Erie is known for small mouth bass, and walleye
-
Its like the Washington football team zero effort.

Brew I think the sport fishing for perch is fine, and Erie is the classic but not only place to go. It’s different than walleye fishing—a big perch is probably 1.5 pounds or so, nothing like John’s 10-pound walleyes, and I imagine you need a boat (or ice). Maybe you can fish them from shore somewhere, some times during the year.

Cleveland was going to name their AHL hockey team the Fighting Walleye at one point. But changed to Lake Erie Monsters.
-
I never made it out that way. I have caught multiple 10+ lb walleye from the rocks behind the RnR HOF though
-
I was referencing sport fishing but morphed into dining.. I wonder if john hook has ever beento.Put-In-Bay
-
Brew, re Erie perch fishery: https://www.ohiomagazine.com/travel/article/food-road-trips-lake-erie-perch Agree that walleye is also great. Saltwater, well, ono is not just the name of the fish but also the Hawaiian word meaning delicious.

Walleye is my personal favorite fresh water fish ever so slightly over perch. Salt water its Pompano
-
Top notch
-
Lake Erie is really known.as actor notch small mouth and walleye fishery
-
I’d switch allegiance immediately to the Cleveland Lake Perch, provided they had a good fish logo (has to be much better than the Gwinnett Stripers, who don’t know what they’re doing) and they used Cuyahoga as their team song.

Lake perch? At least that’s what Sayers drove all around Cleveland looking for when we were there for a conference. I don’t remember if Mikey was with us. Someone set the tablecloth on fire when we finally found some perch. In these days of Cobb County ballparks and billion $$ proposals for the Oakland waterfront and the Coliseum site $65 million seems a bargain. Plus IM Pei!

Is Cleveland known for or tied to any particular culinary dish ?
-
Alan Freed
-
A Cleveland DJ did coin the term "rock and roll" and album orientated radio is said to have been successful in Cleveland before anywhere else. But agreed, it might not be the most logical place.
-
I'm sure it had nothing to do with the $65 Million incentive package the city offered.
-
Off topic—but how did the rock hall end up in Cleveland? I mean, what’s the great Cleveland band? NIN? Joe Walsh? Is there a great Cleveland song? My City Is Gone is Akron, Youngstown is close I guess, so that leaves…Cuyahoga? (I realize my choices are identifying me as a 55 to 65 year old white dude, but the shoe fits.) And these songs all have a certain theme…. Though not exactly “rock” Wreck mentions Cleveland—but the Edmund Fitzgerald never gets there….

Strike that too close to Rockies
-
Rockers would have been cool to tie in with hall of fame

Could be worse. Beats the current name at least.
