I just realized that Luis Castillo has been traded a half dozen times but hasn’t ever been cut. Been owned since 2017
-
Schwindel has predictably mashed since I dropped him
-
Love these days where my bench scores as much as my lineup. I’m looking for a 3 or 4 for 1 where I move like $50 worth of player for one $40 guy. I know everyone is starting to focus on buying/selling, but I’m willing to help anyone interested in competing if it also helps me

Abreu, a notorious cold weather slow starter, is starting to warm up with the weather. I need an OF’er who is getting playing time now and who hopefully has at least the possibility of some long term potential. Please make an offer. I won’t be insulted by lowball offers if they give me a little more salary cap space.

I think you’re right about Buxton, it's just a matter of how many points you can get out of him before the next injury (knock on wood)
-
Huh. I woulda thought Buxton was by far the most valuable future piece in that deal. But who knows, maybe that minor league pitcher dominates against the mlb guys too
-
first hit was a triple not to bad and 11 pts tonight ill take that

Henri...most cubs and d backs are not rosterable
-
I don't have the players to take advantage of the weather reports. Makes me sad.
-
So I got Scherzer for 2 starts and Harper for 2 games since my trade .
-
So I probably should have started Rojas then?

Make that 10 wow
-
So ,as you midwesterners know, our weather is Bi Polar. cold front and rain in tomorrow and Sunday , will be pitchers day ( as I watch the 9th HR go out just now )
-
Hot weather brought out the cut offs and bikini tops too in the bleachers
-
Too bad Eovaldi isn't pitching in these conditions
-
Anyone who can, turn into Cubs game, pop fly's are getting jet streamed OUT !
-
win d is blowing OUT at Wrigley hitters day wow
-
Wow Henry , that's worse than Bryce Wilson last night
-
Check out Nate Eovaldi tonight. On my roster.
-
For someone who is rebuilding , might be good idea to pick up Paddack, he figured things out in Minessota and was 5.88 steady SP for me
-
He looks like he may finally be coming around. He could be yours.
-
Pre draft , I was very high on Rodgers , thought he would finally break out
-
Considering having a fire sale for future parts. Let me know if you see anything you like.
-
I talked myself out of starting Kopech , dammed.it
-
They have 8 homes in two games, and tonight is another hot humid affair
-
I hate the Yankees , but watching them you wonder how they ever lose , mistake swings go over through fence
-
I'm resigned to it. Less about the Yankees and more about the Red Sox losing one run games. It's a long season.
-
Henry , must be painful for you watching Yankees run roughshod
-
Whole lotta poachin going on, shake shake shake
-
Darn it Mikey.
-
The wrecking crew known as the NY Yankees in tropical weather Chicago is nasty , I pity Keuchal today. The amount of opposite field homers already this series is crazy
-
*Tapia is left-handed too. He’s still a Rockie in my mind I guess. Though I imagine the Jays hope they don’t have to give him many ABs.

Yeah, I don’t get the point either. P/AB or P/PA might be more useful. Re Chapman though teams seem to go out of their way to avoid using LHPs vs the Jays whenever they can. Vlad, Springer, Bo, Téo, Kirk, Jansen, Chapman, Lourdes, and Espinal are all righties; the only left-handed hitters are Collins and Biggio. This is probably why the Red Sox don’t seem to care if Sale gets vaccinated.

That makes sense. I guess I was thinking in terms of at-bats rather than games, so the idea that the denominator could actually be greater than the total number of games played hadn’t occurred to me. Suddenly I’m unsure of the value of the stat as the system produces it.
-
In Chapman's case, he's played in 32 games, he's seen RHP in all 32 and LHP in 15 of them. So, ((32*2.42)+(15*1.78))/32 = 3.25 ppg.

In other words, a "versus righties game" is often not a full game's worth of at-bats, so the point total should be less than a full games total.

It makes sense, doesn't it? Imagine a player who has played in 10 games total...but saw righties in 8 of those games and lefties in 6. The total games denominator will be smaller than the sum of the 2 versus denominators.

How is it possible that Chapman can be averaging 2.42 pts against righties, 1.78 against lefties, and 3.25 overall? I think there may be an issue with Niv’s system.

Gleyber Torres homered and drove in five runs on Wednesday, powering the Yankees to a 5-3 victory over the Blue Jays
-
The new dimensions and raised walls at Camden Yards have yielded the 3rd fewest HR so far
-
I'm sitting Quantrill as I see a high scoring game
-
While not as prounounced as Wrigley ( not as close to the lake ) , it will be hitters paradise @ White Sox all week with 80s/90 humidity and sw winds . Those from the Midwest can recall the years like this with no spring, then instant summer .
-
Wow once highly touted Gleybor turned to trash
-
Flip those prospects! Make it happen!
-
I know its temporary but damn it feels good to be back on top
-
George Kirby Era today too.
-
The Alek Thomas era is upon us, great looking prospect
