Plus this is the Mets we're talking about, so...
-
The initial report said he grabbed for his "side/arm area"... And this was immediately following his starts being pushed because his arm wasn't working. He might have a lat strain, but he probably also has some kind of damage somewhere in his throwing arm. Just like an ankle sprain can be the precursor for a knee injury because of trying to compensate for the ankle, the same probably goes for arm/shoulder injuries that make you push other parts of your body to make up for the loss.
-
They let him pitch after he refused an MRI. I'm actually with Runs here. They may not have *known* he was badly hurt, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they *suspected* it, and are now trying to downplay it in order to cover their asses.
-
I can't imagine they're covering it up. In this day and age, everything gets out eventually. Hiding this would be catastrophic for Mets' public relations. Fans would riot.
-
Yeah, I think it's going to end up being worse. He had his starts pushed back twice for a "dead arm", then threw a bullpen session and refused an MRI, so the Mets just let him pitch on his word that he was ready to go. And then he goes down with a lat strain? I think it's his elbow or shoulder and they're trying to kind of cover it up.
-
I think Matz had a torn lat and only missed like 2 months so it could be worse. Of course with this being the Mets you think that for two months then he comes back pitches 2 innings and needs tommy john surgery.
-
Yet, you have a healthy Jose Reyes and Cameron Maybin. Go figure.
-
$161 currently on the DL. The Ottoneu gods just couldn't take the cheap guys.
-
I should have known I wasn't meant to have nice things :(
-
Tough break for Runs.
-
Syndergaard torn lat muscle. Poor Runs. This number of injuries is unfair.
