Good with me
-
If he wants to cut that $53 Harper, I think I'd be OK with that.
-
A round of free cuts for new owners is always okay
-
Just wanted to be sure. Nobody has ever asked/done it in here and didn't want to piss anyone off. Thanks

Section 5, h
-
According to the rules, he has that anyway doesn't he?
-
Fine with me.
-
Since Chap is new to the league he has asked for a round of penalty free cuts. I want to make sure that everyone is on board with that. Let me know if that will be a problem. Thanks

If you like to make trades, you picked the wrong league. Jk. Welcome aboard!
-
Just joined the league and took over the Cardinal Way (to be renamed). Need to take a spin through the lineup and think about strategy for this season, but looking forward to it! And I love to make trades, so I'll probably send some stuff out!

I have cheap corner bats, and I am looking for a good starter.

Looking to upgrade anywhere offensively but 3B and MI are particular needs.

I'm looking to move a catcher if anyone is in need. One of Avila, Castillo, d'Arnaud, or Murphy.

We can't veto an auction either. It's a different sort of transaction. At worst, you're out the cap penalty from your (likely minimum) bid. Cap can be recouped. The same isn't true for talent.
-
Like I did with CC!
-
What if a player goes on the DL after you started an auction for him, but before the auction is closed? How is that different?
-
*first move that is, let's not have any fist moves in here.
-
I feel you assume the risk of the guy getting hurt when you hit the accept button. You shouldn't get an out clause during processing, that injury risk was weighed by both teams to reach the point where the deal was accepted. Trade accepted - Deal done. I don't think a 48 hour return policy is reasonable. Often after a trade is made, other moves are made to compensate for the fist move.
-
But I don't think we should have to start adding disclaimers to deals as part of the negotiating process in a trade. You make a trade/don't make a trade. Something random/serious happens by all means, but I don't like the idea of adding an injury disclaimer in every trade or using that as a negotiating tactic that you'd be willing to leave it off to make the deal work.
-
Agreed.
-
I would be in favor of it if it was only for serious injuries...I mean if you're dealing for Mike Trout and while pending he is injured for a couple months, I think it warrants it there. I don't think if someone has a pulled hammy/etc it should be.
-
If the proposing team spells out such a clause in the message section of an accepted deal, could we consider that enforceable?
-
Yeah, I think it's an unnecessary regulation. If anything, if the two teams want to mutually agree to break the trade out of goodwill, then sure.
-
I would be against such a clause. Just part of the game.
-
Not even if we qualified it by requiring the injury to be sudden and occurring after the deal was accepted? So if someone is DTD with a sore back when the offer is accepted and they subsequently go on the DL while the trade is pending, the receiving owner CANNOT reverse the trade. But if a player breaks their wrist while the deal is pending, it can be reversed.
-
I would not be in favor of that at all. Injuries are an inherent risk in baseball.
-
Can we vote on an injury clause? Something like, if a player in a pending trade is placed on the DL, the team who is receiving that player can void the trade. That doesn't seem unreasonable right?
-
Anyone want Cueto? He's cheap
