Definitely didin't mean to try and put one over on you guys! Just trying to make use of an advantageous tactic that I've seen others use.

We had a similar situation in another league where one owner did that move and the rest of us wondered if it should be illegal, so we contacted Niv.

I've actually spoken with Niv avout this issue and he's in favor of it existing as something that teams can take advantage of if a cut player stays on the market for too long, which makes it an attractive option when you cut a bad player that nobody wants

Yes, the rules say the cap penalty stays until another team signs the player, but the software doesn't keep up with the original price correctly allowing teams to resign cut players later at the cut price and then cut again to lower the cap penalties.
-
It might be worth asking the Ottoneu admins if this is intended behavior or not. Pretty smart thinking though.

If I'm understanding correctly, and using Ricky Nolasco as an example, it looks like he had a $2 cap penalty for dropping him in May. Then he picked him up again for $2, dropped Nolasco again, and now the penalty is $1.

Could one of the commissioners please adjust Buster Posey's team to adjust for him taking advantage of a bug in the system?

fixed, and don't worry man it's really no trouble at all to fix

He's actually still showing up on Posey's team?
-
My bad. He's already back on your team, Jeets, I'll get him off BPLS
-
Thanks Posey, yes could you please move him back? Thanks.
-
Hey I claimed Gausman on waivers and didn't realize Jeets cut him by accident. He's showing up on my team, so you should move him back to Jeets. Sorry!

Three Cheese Biscuit's trade block has been updated!

Just offered you three top pitching prospects for buxton.
-
Wow, veto, ok. Well if you all think Buxton is worth more, let's hear the offers.

Vetoed it too; just because this is a clear sell-high on Mesoraco and a $3 Buxton.

Buxton

First trade I've vetoed. Nobody near the bottom should trade best prospect in baseball (broxton).

No worries, a single vote never hurt anyone! I do like Ramos but I have so many other C's and C prospects that I like more, so I wasn't worried letting him go for Urias, who I really like too.

My bad, I vetoed that trade before digging in to each team's roster, I think it is too cheap for that catcher, but you are loaded with catchers, so I can understand it now. My bad.
-
Should have traded Feliz when I had a chance! Grab him on waivers if you think he'll come back as a starter!

Yeah here's hoping. I figure I'll stall for a few days and if they don't do it by opening day (or if I want to make a move) I'll just drop someone

Agree on the DL bit, you would imagine they would move him to the 60 on opening day as the 60-day DL frees up a spot on the 40 man roster for the Mets.
-
I really hate when teams put a Tommy John pitcher on the 15 day DL, instead of the 60. It makes a huge difference in ottoneu and the guy is out all year anyway!

Niv changed it because it was becoming too rampant and guys like Brett Myers had insane value just by being a setup guy with SP eligibility.

Right. This used to be a neat way of gaining a slight point advantage, you actually wanted to start an RP in an SP slot if possible, because RP get more points per inning.

From the roster section of the rules: "All pitchers will have both SP and RP eligibility. However they will only accrue statistics if you use them in the same manner as their MLB team"
