I wonder what the strategy was? :)
-
Ha, and I thought popping in an overly aggressive $7 would nearly guarantee landing him. It's almost the Ottoneu auction record for Rodon. One team out there shelled out hi$18.

It sure appears that the $3 bid by Jumpsteadies and myself was slightly low for Rodon
-
;-)
-
Already did
-
BK, the looming question for me is, will you veto your own trades?

I was being sarcastic. I think you acquitted yourself well...Just being a B===D after being accused of collusion.
-
I made out like a bandit
-
With JFB- cuddyers coming off the DL and can help him, I'm not sold on him at that price for next year and I think garza is a good pick for next year...
-
And he's so far over budget after increases and arbitration that he can't keep lee...
-
And he's so far over budget after increases and arbitration that he can't keep lee...
-
With Jump- he's not keeping hamel (who I like at that price) and I'm not keeping Lee at 32 and he might get a few starts next month since lees not having surgery
-
Obvious collusion. Who deals for injured players when trying to win?
-
Very disappointed. None of these trades are of the clown variety.
-
have any obvious non-keepers who are still productive? let's "clown trade!"
-
hopefully not an ASCII one
-
lol
-
I veto virtually every trade... But it's just because I'm sometimes a dick
-
I wouldn't mind a limit on the amount in loans a team could take out in a season. Not sure if that's possible though.
-
funny you should ask the difference TT. I looked back through all the trades I've done and all but one has received vetoes. are they all collusion? three warranted 5 or 6 votes even. I think everyone should re-examine their view of the marketplace.
-
Trying to say the trade was collusion is silly. I offered similarly large deals to several other teams, including both Jumpsteadies and JFB. PGETLO was the only one willing to give up his prospects. I then sold off Posey to JS.
-
It's obviously not black and white. The last trade proves that and it was a close vote. But I've had several trades that weren't as large receive vetoes in this league. It's obvious people are using them for the wrong reasons.
-
Interesting difference in semantics. And how does one identify collusion vs. a bad trade?
-
Vetoing is to prevent collusion, not to stop trades you don't like.
-
I'm must approving every trade from now on, it seems pointless to veto.
-
Clown Trades's trade block has been updated!
-
Dem Bums's trade block has been updated!
-
I really didn't have a chance though. 500 points in 2 months to catch the top guy isn't doable. I'm building to win next year. Are you?
-
still cannot understand why he is breakingup a team that HAD a chance....well I see he changed the name of the team!
-
What?! No cries of foul of trading established stars for prospects?!? ...I kid, I kid...well, only kind of.

I also appreciate that all the teams care. here's a post from today's BP that sheds light on the strategy employed by jimi's. fwiw we've been kicking around a salary cap in the other league I commish.
-
Great commishing jumps. Well said. Well handled. This league is uber fun bc of the enthusiasm, even when I dont agree with some of it :)
-
The league spoke by not vetoing it and now we should all move on by making moves to win this year, next year or in the future. That is all we can do other than being civil towards each other; let's try to treat others how we would want to be treated.
-
I messaged both of the teams involved in the trade and they stated that they both made the trade for competitve reasons and not to assist anyone else. PGETLO only gets one guy with a great contract so the trade doesn't affect anything long term.
-
I was one of the non-voters, but only because I knew it would be treated the same as a yes. I don't veto unless I think there is collusion going on.
-
So you guys don't like a trade then you don't like the system in place to police collusion (which I don't think this was). So you make up new rules? Is that it? Just want to be clear.
-
Yeah let's bend the rules because we don't like stuff
-
I agree re: the 3/6 vote.
-
last post... Commish: The league has clearly spoken. It is your duty to get rid of that garbage
-
a non-vote should not be considered a "yea" vote... seems stupid
-
I see 3 yeas and 6 vetoes... looks pretty vetoed to me
-
Give them, say 24 hrs, to respond to see if they have an opinion on the trade?

I think Jump's done a great job commissioning the league these 2 years. Just a thought though...maybe for highly contested trades either in this one or in the future, you PM the non-voting managers.

I hear ya. In a league where not every manager is active (3 managers didnt vote), it's pretty much impossible to veto a trade here.

I'm pretty much calling BS on that trade, but if over 1/2 the league vetoes it and it still goes through, why bother having vetoes?
-
I wonder if they are the same person then!!!!
-
Well, if it's a majority, we came 1 vote short since half the league voted against it. Only 1 manager other than the two involved approved it.

So how many veto's were need to cancel that crazy trade anyway....or was it up to the commish to decide!!!!
