Go for it, Flint. No objection here
-
Does anybody object if I add Dickerson to new SchWAR Machines team? Nobody claimed or auctioned him. But I don't want to do anything unilaterally.
-
Thanks for trying. Still gives me the message about cutting him in the past 30 days. Yet it lets me bid on guys I actually cut. Strange

New SchWAR Machine can you start an auction for him now? I'm not sure if that worked, let me know
-
Let me see what the commissioner's tools allow. I'm going to try something, and if it doesn't work I will immediately undo it. Trust me to make sure no rosters or salary caps will change. I'm just checking to see if there's a way to start an auction for Dickerson.
-
hi everyone1 I'm new to this league. Looking forward to playing with you all. I see the previous owner released a $1 Corey Dickerson. I would like to acquire that player, but I cannot auction him since "I" cut him in the past 30 days. Since no one else has claimed him, would it be OK if he were added back to my team?

I have confidence in Puig also. But (even as a non-fan of the Yankees) I believe Greg Bird, Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres will make the Yankees great again. If I have to watch the Yankees win, I want to at least make sure my fantasy team benefits from it.
-
Couldn't pass up Puig, I'm still convinced his woes have been injury related.
-
Oooh. Gleyber Torres packs his bags... I'm jealous.

Spa City Thoroughbreds's trade block has been updated!

Acuna is a heck of a ball player for a 19 year old. I see him as a superior prospect to comparably-aged Victor Robles or Kyle Tucker, and on par with Eloy Jimenez and Vlad Guerrero Jr. I hoped he would be available cheaply late in the year, but this forces my hand.
-
That is too bad. He has very competitive team and he was a very active and effective owner. I imagine somebody will pick up that team quickly - not many abandoned teams have that much talent on their rosters.
-
SchWAR Machine said he had to quit all the leagues he was in. I tried to convince him to stay, but apparently he had a family issue come up and he didn't expect to be able to do any pretend baseball this year. Although, he did say if he were going to stay in 1 league it would definitely be ours. He wanted that pennant...

Team Name's trade block has been updated!

I hear you Winnetka. My comment was about the fact SchWAR Machine gets no extra points for keeping the $20. If he'd rather have a $9 Reyes in 2018 than $20 today, I have no issue - or at least I don't think it's not my place to object. The sandbagging I had in mind would be if I suspected an owner of intentionally doing something detrimental to his team in order to change the outcome for the rest of the league this season, rather than to improve his team next season.

Hunter Renfroe? My money is on Alex Dickerson!

Flint, I don't think your first comment is pertinent to this situation. That $20 is a major boon for Spa City. I wouldn't be surprised if Schwarber cuts Reyes by the end of the year and I would bet on it that he is cut or traded by the trade deadline or roster cut deadline next year. Also, "sandbagging" applies from doing something poorly to gain an advantage later, such as when professional teams get higher draft picks the following year after having a poor season.

And a new award this year - the Justin Turner/David Murphy Late-Career, Out-Of-Nowhere, Breakout Award... I'll go with Matt Joyce in the AL, and Eric Thames in the NL.
-
Early predictions for 2017 rookies of the year: In the AL I'll go with Andrew Benintendi with Jharel Cotton as runner up. In the NL I'll say Dansby Swanson with Manny Margot as runner up.
-
No extra points for most cash in the bank in October... I'd only ever vote "No" if someone were sandbagging.
-
OMG, really? $20 loan plus $7 for Reyes that is scheduled for TJ? I almost voted "no". $7 salary for nothing is more than fair, $20 to boot is very unbalanced.

Just in case anybody has spare cap space and a desire to carry Alex Reyes on the DL, please let me know. I know he will get picked up if I cut him, but since a few teams have a lot of extra cap space and probably not much to spend it in, it might be win-win if we could work out a Reyes for cash trade.

Elbow Fairy, indeed. But as any competent physician will tell you, all bones lead to the shin bone. (Author's note: I am not a physician except in Trinidad and Grenada)

Any interest in Matt Duffy or Aaron Judge?

My shoulder should be okay for golf, but I can't imagine I will ever throw another slider... Not that I could throw much of a slider before.
-
Elbow fairy I think, right? If Reyes' shoulder went, then he is worse off than I thought. Elbows heal. Shoulders - not quite as much.
-
Well, it IS Tommy John season, again. All we can do is sit back and wait to see whether the Shoulder Fairy will skip past our rotations.
-
I have little in common with Alex Reyes, but unfortunately for the both of us one thing we have in common is that we are both having arm surgeries. I'm having my shoulder repaired tomorrow - hopefully I won't miss too much of golf season. I was on the golf DL all of last year. One thing Alex and I do not have in common is that my arm injury will have no impact on the Cardinals' or Thoroughbreds' wild card hopes.

Thank you, everyone. Sorry to emote through the message board. I don't know why Gatsby wanted me to pay so much for Keon Broxton. In hindsight, he might just have been asking for more bacon. Thank you again.
