Normally we would have all cuts made to 5 then only the people with available spots would be able to do supplemental draft..so you wouldnt be able to keep 7

yeah, I'm obviously biased because I have 7 (gulp) but this seems like a big change to make with less than two weeks for moves

Thats also not a bad idea but we always had to make cuts to 5 by Jan 31st deadline..but one team has 2 and two others have 3..most have 4..so not sure there is a fair way to make that happen

my vote is to drop it, and for current MiLB to stay protected for the season, but must be brought up by Sept 1 (rather than Jan 31)

The ONLY problem I had with the Milb draft was it was on here via messages..some fell behind..drafted players allready frozen etc..when it first started we all had time as it was 2020..now following along seems a lil tougher..I love minor league players so its a tough call for me..but like Rusty said we always have been able to draft Milb players in draft just not restricted players..

Hey all. I'm very sorry to see PW go. I'm good with The Game as commish. I guess I had a different understanding of the MiL draft (which I'm in favor of keeping). I understood it as a supplemental draft. There's nothing against drafting MiL guys in our normal auction draft (as long as they're not already on someone's roster - MLB or MiL). All it does is provide teams opportunities (after everyone has auction drafted) to take fringe/long term prospects. Doesn't prevent taking MiL guys in draft.
-
Milb draft would definately be before actual draft..My thoughts are with ability to keep what we want from our Milb list and drop the rest makes more options for teams who at end of year/or in rebuild year to pick up better/more potential prospects..To me thats the beauty of this style league

More importantly, I would like to see a payout increase to motivate, end of the season trading. I would suggest using a third-party program like league safe, so we can retain more of the payout. Just a suggestion.

I do believe if we do continue to have additional MiLB roster spots, we should draft these players before our main draft. If we choose to get rid of the spots we should definitely give managers the option to insert these players on their roster.

There are a few leagues that use additional MILB roster spots. It seems normal to manage these through a google doc, not sure there’s better way.
As to whether or not we should continue to use these roster spots, I can go either way. It depends on how we want this league to be run. With less players available for waiver pick up you would think that there would be more trades. I haven’t seen evidence of that…

SeaWolves suggestion makes sense to me too. If that's the route we go, Robert Gasser is the only player that I'd want to add to my 40-man.
-
I like the idea of getting rid of MiLB draft, found it strange to have it separate and on an excel outside of Ottoneu

First, I don't have an interest in being commish and I think "The Game" would make a good commissioner. Regarding the MILB draft/roster, I don't have a strong opinion either way but if we get rid of it, I think teams should be able to keep the current players in some way. For example, have to add to MLB roster at cut time (Jan 31) for $1 (or cut) or some other option that would allow teams to keep current Milb rostered players if they want.

I'm proposing that we drop it. It's inaugural year was in 2020 (mostly as something to do, while we waited for the season to start) and eventually we came to a gentlemen's agreement not to draft MiLB players in the draft. I feel that it has taken away some of the fun and intrigue from both the draft and in-season F/A auctions. Just my two cents...
-
Are you proposing voting on dropping or continuing the Milb draft?

I've been in this league since 2020, though I know that a few owners have a longer tenure than that. Once Perfect Warrior is claimed and we have commissioner clarity - I'd like to see a vote regarding the continuance of our MiLB draft.

If anyone with more years vested in this league wants to be Commish please comment..Ill be happy to do it but was thinking we might vote/discuss before

Renewals are easy, withdrawing money when you win a prize is what requires the forfeiture of banking info. Shouldn't be a problem for this league. But companies like Paydala, Yodlee and Plaid that integrate with your bank account have a horrific track record of selling your banking information. Just a heads up for those in prize leagues. I'll turn commish tools ove to Game for the time being and let myself out.

I initially used Paydala for an Ottoneu basketball league renewal in September. Other than the aforementioned credit card information, said application only requested a valid cell phone number or email address in order to receive confirmation code that finalized the transaction. Same deal a couple of days ago for my baseball renewals. In all honesty, Paydala in very similar to PayPal. Best of luck!

Thanks all for the last few years of Fantasy Baseball goodness! Ottoneu is requiring bank login information for payouts (Username, Password, Secondary Keys, etc). I'm not willing to provide that information, and will be switching platforms. I highly suggest looking into Paydala and Ottoneu's new methods before renewing if you play in a prize league. Moving forward this league will need a new commissioner. Whoever takes over, please request access to the MilB google sheet. Best of luck all.

Morning all, with arbitration done and dusted the offseason can begin in full swing. We did have 2 teams who did not complete arbitration (plus the already abandoned team). I've reached out to both owners to see if they intend to compete next year.

Looks like Hunter Goodman debuted before Sept 1, and needs to be promoted. I believe all of these guys were added to MLB rosters post Sept 1. Technically it's up to the owner whether they stay on the MiLB roster or are added to the MLB roster. If you own any of these players and would like to promote them, please let me know.

Couple of MILB updates. Zach Neto has been promoted to PW’s roster. Anthony Gutierrez traded from Seawolves to On A Roll. I thought OAR offered an excellent answer to his rationale for the trade. Always good to hear, certainly an intriguing trade.
