Trevor Story is great and all, but Jean Segura has a 1.368 OPS and is a veteran in a hard-to-fill position. I'll trade straight-up because I'm generous and kind.
-
Yup it is love it! They interviewed his Mom during the game. Seems like a great family. Wonder how many teams trade him at his peak value assuming he slows down...a lot.
-
The Trevor Story experience is fun.

Steven Souza has a 40-point game so far. #cantpredictbaseball

Halifax makes a good point about treatment vs awareness orgs...I'm nonetheless going to provide an awareness org. :) As I noted at the end of the draft, my best friend is fighting bladder cancer this past year. After his diagnosis, he gave me this org as a support opportunity: http://www.bcan.org/ . So if supporting that org happens to suit you, there you go.

(As I understand, LLS is really good about those things. My "favorite" is either the Melanoma Research Foundation, or what the MD Anderson Cancer Center does.)
-
Ralph, LLS is great, but there are lots of wonderful cancer-related charities worth your time and attention. My pet item is this: I feel pretty strongly that cancer research and treatment science is a more fruitful use of donation dollars than "awareness" campaigns. But anyone who helps in any way is great.
-
Also, does anybody know if the current search function is temporary. Because it...how do I say it nicely?...kinda sucks.
-
If anybody has a specific cancer related cause, let me know soon and I will consider it for my "entry fee". Otherwise, I'll go through the general LLS site. Thanks.
-
First place after Day One, guessing that this is the only day all season I'm up here!
-
Gee, thanks. Watch, he'll refuse to go back to Korea, play 100 games here, and challenge for RoY. That's my luck.

Don't worry, Dyersville -- you got that last one right.

So...I'm cutting all the wrong players. Got it.

No, we won't be using the mandatory skip option. If it becomes a problem in the end-game where someone is actively not nominating players, I'll tell them to knock it off.
-
Through circumstances outside of my control, I'm not going to get to the draft room until maybe quarter after 6. Go ahead and start without me, please.

I'm in the slack, but not the channel.

I don't think I have slack access, can you add me? I know I was around last year, but I check for all teams associated with my email and nothing showed up.

As our backup for the inevitable software crash that causes us to have to pause, we're going to use the Slack channel as we did a year ago. If you don't have access to the Ottoneu Slack community, let me know, and we'll get you added. Please plan to have a window/tab/phone with slack open during the draft so you can communicate with us if/when the draft tool craps out on you.

Dave, my donation this year went to Vs. Cancer. Our local professional women's soccer team is doing a run, and I sponsored one of our rookies. Thanks so much for continuing the league. I am proud to still be a member and still be able to contribute where I can.
-
Keep in mind that players moving to a new position won't be eligible to play that spot until after they've accrued 5 starts there, so you can't fill a needed lineup spot by selecting a player who will be eligible to play that spot in game 6. You must have a valid option for every lineup spot as of their opening day eligibility.
-
We're going to knock everything out tomorrow night, so plan on filling out your starting lineup before you leave. You do not have to fill out all of your bench spots if you don't wish to, but you'll be forced to use the in-season auction system to round out your roster to build out depth.
-
Since we're under 24 hours until auction time, let's talk logistics. The auction will start promptly at 9 pm eastern time, so please be in the draft room by 8:30 to 8:45, so we can make sure everyone is prepped and ready to go.
-
Also, this seems like a good time to remind everyone that the auction is next Saturday, starting at 9 pm eastern time. See you all in seven days.
-
I don't have any friends doing a Team in Training event right now, but since TNT is a fundraising arm of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, you can donate directly to LLS and it all goes to the same place. https://donate.lls.org/lls/donate
-
Dave, do you have a link to the page to donate for this year?

Whoops -- sorry I didn't get to the doodle poll yet. That day/time is fine, though.

Okay, so, I'm tentatively scheduling the auction for Saturday, March 26th, beginning at 9 pm eastern. Everyone who filled out the Doodle has that slot free, and I can't imagine AKC won't be back in the US by then; that puts us a week before Opening Day so we should catch most of the injuries by then as well so no one gets screwed by drafting too early. If anyone has an objection to Satuday, March 26th at 9 pm eastern, speak up now.
-
I filled out the doodle poll. Generally I can make any day work, besides the 18th-20th and 25th.
-
Looks like I can make any day work. 6pm pacific is good. I can't do earlier though as I'll be mid-commute.
-
Every time I try the Doodle poll, it fails to register my full response. I think it's an issue with my work laptop's firewall (my only computer, sorry). I CAN'T do Wednesdays and I am unable to do Thursday, March 31st. All other nights I should be able to make it fine. I will continue to try to fill out the Doodle calendar in the meantime.
-
I can only do 9 p.m. ET or earlier on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. All other days my earliest availability is 10 p.m. ET. I filled out the Doodle poll.
-
I'm travelling from the UK to the East Coast some time in March - so I won't be able to make any days before that date (afterwards, I should be quite flexible). We'll figure it out soon!
