oh, and on the "players" page, there is a "average salaries" link that you can use to see average salaries across the ottoneu universe. just remember that those averages include some crazy outliers...
-
all arb is in! reminder that you can make changes until midnight ET tonight and then trade season opens. for those new to the league, there are no roster or salary cap rules in the off-season. you'll have to be legal by 1/31, but with trades in the off-season, you can have as many players and as much cash on your books as you want. also, top of this page has a "draft results" link if you want to get a sense of what players cost at auction last year.
-
Not a lie that is

Niv told me it's not.

Midnight ET Tuesday night actually

A reminder, arbitration is due by end of day Monday. Don't be confused by the "arbitration end" message.
-
Alex, too!
-
now that the world series is over, a reminder that arbitration allocations are due 11/15 (12 days!). this mostly applies to those of you yet to allocate (Al, Brandon, Justin, Cody, and Brad, and half of me) but for the rest, you only have 12 days to edit your allocations if you want to make changes. If anyone has any questions, let me know.

ok, Justin M. is officially in and Justin V. is officially out. I also think Alex has been added to his team, and once that is confirmed, I'll remove Rylan.
-
I believe I have added Justin Mason as owner on Baby Bears. Once that is confirmed, I'll drop Justin Vibber as an owner and Mr. Mason will have complete control. Just waiting on Alex to send me his info so I can turn over I'm Keith Hernandez into his hands.
-
Justin Mason will be taking over the other open team. once they get me their info, i'll sign them up and we'll have a full league. so yay for that
-
for those not following on slack, we have one owner coming in - alex chamberlain. he is picking his team, so either justin or rylan is about to be relieved of their responsibilities. if you have thoughts on another FG or RG writer who would be a good fit, let me know or ask them!
-
ok, so no one else says they are leaving - anyone have recommendations on other FG or RG writers who should step in? or should we just post on FG slack to find replacements? also, reminder that arb starts on sunday - i'll send out a reminder on how it works later, but you'll have a month to get your allocations in!
-
If anyone won't be back for 2018 let me know so we can get replacements. Already have two (Rylan and Justin) who let me know they can't return.
-
My dream for this league is for everybody to finish with between 16,000 and 17,500 points. Now THAT would be a battle.
-
I think it would be more "fair" if somebody else caught me. Haven't you won basically every season I haven't won?
-
Congrats on the title, Brad. I'll catch you someday!

Reminder that you need to get your rosters legal (not 40 players, $400; but whatever your roster legally allows as of now with loans and 60 day DL spots).

All prospects available not named Devers. Obviously looking for guys I won't cut at the end of the year. Anyone interested in rebooting send me a message
-
Yes, but how many guys can be used for matchup play by that standard? Like I said, it would have been a trade for trade's sake. I tried to come up with an offer that felt worth it to me, and couldn't.
-
Pitchers with ERA>5.00 and/or HR/9>1.50. Which is a lot of them.
-
Joseph is not particularly young, he's 1B only, his playing time is likely to be limited going forward, and I can't find even one peripheral that makes me optimistic about near-term turnaround. One would have to want to make a trade for trade's sake and ostensibly help the two-time reigning champ make it a three-peat in the process. Zero offers sounds about right to me.
-
Not to beat a dead horse here, but which matchups are you playing with him? He doesn't have a platoon split and has been below average against both RHP and LHP. He's been better at home this year, but I generally don't put much stock into home/road splits except for the most extreme parks, and Philly is a pretty neutral park overall even if it inflates HR.
-
Which is still totally playable in this format if you're playing matchups.
-
Among 1B with 50+ PA he's literally 56th in points per game.
-
He didn't lose his job...Hoskins is faking it in LF. Besides, he could get traded, has a useful pts/PA from the bench, growth potential, and a cheap price. Even if you wind up cutting him, you're more likely to keep him than the 25 worst currently rostered OF.
