I think a player should retain the full cap penalty UNLESS a different player in the league picks him up.
-
I'm not bushleague. I'll beat you fair and square without shenanigans you scummy :)

-
You shouldn't stoop to my level. Stand by your convictions!
-
You're the best, Kempire.
-
So I guess we all are just going to go by this strategy since it's not in the written rules?
-
That is where I have the issue is the time frame. I don't think a person should be able to add and then drop again just to save cap space.
-
The trouble is there are legitimate reasons a team would want to re-add a player they previously cut. Maybe there can be a limit on how soon you can cut a player after he is added.
-
Yea I know, maybe it needs to be 90 days or not at all.
-
Against-That rule is already there, he has to wait 30 days to do it.
-
I'm going to send Niv a message about it. I just don't agree with how that works.
-
Maybe Niv needs to invoke a rule on not allowing teams to re-auction a guy they cut. Not sure if that is realistic though.
-
I just think you're bushleague.
-
I think Laser got the "does not play well with others" designation in Kindergarten.
-
I'm interested to see if Laser was in say.....6th...would I see a $1 bet on EVERY auction?
-
Yes, you are a moron.
-
Sucks for me then.
-
Well I guess we are all morons for not doing the same thing with our cut players.
-
He will not win an auction for $1 that any of us in the league bid on.
-
Against-Correct, just as a $3 player that is cut has a $2 penalty.
-
He's minimizing his cap penalty on guys he cut in the past. Ubs used to be an $8 penalty, now down to $2. We can all do it.
-
Kempire he will have a penalty if he wins the player at $1 and then cuts them. So there is disincentive for him to bid on every player since cutting them reduces his cap room.
-
A $1 player has a $1 penalty if cut...it rounds up to the nearest dollar amount.
-
What I meant was he knows he will not win the auction by betting $1
-
The way I see it..he knows he will not win the auction and does not care because he will drop them for $1 with no penalty. Those of us that are lower need to bid higher on players because I am trying to outbid those below me for players I want.
-
I'm not going crazy. You are correct though. He knows he will not win that player though. If I want to get someone that is worth a $1-2 for me I am always going to try to bid $2 in the hopes that someone below me doesn't bid the same.
-
Kempire, if anyone drops a $1 player there is a $1 penalty, so there is no savings in that scenario.
-
Against if you change Kempire's bid to $2 Laser would be "driving up the price", as with no other bids Kempire would get the player for $1 not $2.
-
If an auction gets placed for a $1 player from Kempire, and Laser bids $1, Kempire would win the auction for $1 because of the lower standing. How is that driving up the price? You didnt have to pay more than $1. I could be wrong so don't go crazy.

-
I could be wrong on this...if he adds a player for $1 and then immediately drops them he does not have any penalty correct?
-
Good point.
-
Like I said. Just kind of a dick move. If that's what you're about...all power to ya
-
If Laser wants to have a bunch of money tied up in cut players then so be it.
-
Do yourself a favor and read the *written* rules.
-
It does if he previously cut the player as in the case of Ubaldo. Although now that I look more closely I see what you mean about him bidding on every auction.
-
What money is he saving? It does not cut the cap penalty in half.
-
Why does it bother you Kempire? If someone wants these players Laser is adding then dropping they should just outbid him. Seems to me he isn't doing it to deny other owners but to save $.
-
Unwritten Rule 3: It is understood that it is bushleague to place a $1 bet on EVERY auction that has ever taken place just to drive the price up and you know you won't get stuck with the person because you are currently above them in the league...
-
There is a strategy behind it. It cuts the cap penalty in half each time I believe.
-
Unwritten Rule 2: Don't place an auction for a player you have no intention of keeping.
-
Unwritten Rule 1: Don't be a dick.
-
Forward me a copy of your unwritten rules, thx.
-
What a surprise...laser dropped Jimenez. I don't usually complain, but you really grind my gears with your auction strategy laser. Kind of bushleague in my opinion. To each their own i guess.
